BACKGROUND Porocarcinoma is a rare type of skin cancer that originates from sweat gland *** is an aggressive malignant skin cancer that is difficult to diagnose clinically owing to its rarity and similarity to squamous cell carcinoma(SCC).CASE SUMMARY This case involved a 92-year-old woman,a farmer by profession,presented with an exophytic and verrucous mass on her left palm that had formed 2 years prior and caused chronic pain and frequent ***,the patient was diagnosed with SCC using a punch biopsy;however,a repeat biopsy with addi-tional immunohistochemical tests was performed for ***,the patient was diagnosed with porocarcinoma and reconstruction was planned using a full-thickness skin *** treatment,the range of motion of the palm was preserved,and the aesthetic outcome was *** 6 mo of follow-up,the patient was satisfied with the *** Porocarcinoma is commonly misdiagnosed as SCC;therefore,clinicians should consider porocarcinomas when evaluating mass-like lesions on the hands.

Objective: Atopic dermatitis(AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that may be linked to changes in the gut microbiome. Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in reducing AD symptoms without serious adverse events, but its underlying mechanism is not completely understood. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the potential effect of acupuncture on AD is gut ***: AD-like skin lesions were induced by applying MC903 topically to the cheek of the *** was done at the Gok-Ji(LI11) acupoints. AD-like symptoms were assessed by lesion scores,scratching behavior, and histopathological changes; intestinal barrier function was measured by fecal output, serum lipopolysaccharide levels, histopathological changes, and mRNA expression of markers involved in intestinal permeability and inflammation. Gut microbiota was profiled using 16S rRNA gene sequencing from fecal ***: Acupuncture effectively improved chronic itch as well as the AD-like skin lesions with epidermal thickening, and also significantly altered gut microbiota structure as revealed by β-diversity indices and analysis of similarities. These beneficial effects were eliminated by antibiotic depletion of gut microbiota,but were reproduced in gut microbiota-depleted mice that received a fecal microbiota transplant from acupuncture-treated mice. Interestingly, AD mice had intestinal barrier dysfunction as indicated by increased intestinal permeability, atrophy of the mucosal structure(reduced villus height and crypt depth), decreased expression of tight junctions and mucus synthesis genes, and increased expression of inflammatory mediators in the ileum. Objective: Precision medicine approaches emphasize the importance of reliable prognostic tools for guiding individualized therapy decisions. In this study, we evaluated the clinical feasibility of the single patient classifier(SPC) test, a new clinical-grade prognostic assay, in stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ gastric cancer ***: A prospective multicenter study was conducted, involving 237 patients who underwent gastrectomy between September 2019 and August 2020 across nine hospitals. The SPC test was employed to stratify patients into risk groups, and its feasibility and performance were evaluated. The primary endpoint was the proportion of the cases in which the test results were timely delivered before selecting postoperative treatment. Furthermore, 3-year disease-free survivals of risk groups were ***: The SPC test met the primary endpoint criteria. The 99.5% of SPC tests were timely delivered to hospitals before the postoperative treatment started. In a clinical setting, the median time from the specimen transfer to laboratory to the result delivery to hospital was 4 d. Furthermore, 3-year disease-free survivals were significantly different between risk groups classified with SPC ***: This study highlights the SPC test's feasibility in offering crucial information timely delivered for making informed decisions regarding postoperative treatment strategies. It also provides evidence to support the implementation of a future prospective clinical trial aimed at evaluating the clinical utility of the SPC test in guiding personalized treatment decisions for gastric cancer patients.
