Objective:To study morpho-anatomical characters and physicochemical analysis of Fumaria indica(***)(Hausskn.)Pugsley,(Fumariaceae),an important medicinal plant used extensively for treating a variety of ailments in various system of indigenous ***:Evaluation of the different parts of the plant was carried out to determine the morphoanatomical,physicochemical,phytochemical and HPTLC fingerprinting profile of *** and other WHO recommended methods were performed for ***:Morphoanatomical studies showed compound and pinnatifid leaf,4 to 6 cm in length,linear and oblong in shape and anomocytic arrangement of stomata,thin walled parenchymatous cells,scattered,sclerenchymatous,capped vascular bundles and radiating medullary *** studies showed foreign matter 0.2%,loss on drying 6.8%,total ash 16.77%,alcohol and water soluble extractives 8.92%and 20.26%,respectively,sugar 17.75%,starch 22.97%and tannins 2.37%.Phytochemical evaluation revealed the presence of carbohydrate,alkaloids,flavonoids,saponins,tannins and *** layer chromatography was carried out with different solvents and the best solvent system was chloroform and methanol in 80:20 ratio and revealed 12 spots with different R_f value under UV light 366λ.Conclusions:The results of the study can serve as a valuable source of information and provide suitable standards for identification of this plant material for future investigations and applications.

Objective:To determine the magnitude and outcome of influenza in southern part of Bangladesh and also to identify intrusion of novel influenza ***:This study was conducted for two years(2008-2009) in outpatient and inpatient department of both paediatrics and medicine discipline of Khulna Medical College *** and throat swab specimens were collected from each influenza like illness(ILI) case and kept together in a virus transport media and transported to international centre for diarrhoeal disease and research,Bangladesh laboratory. Influenza virus was detected by rRT-PCR including types and ***:A total of 526 patients were enrolled during the study period with the mean(SD) age of 19(17) years. Identification of influenza virus was 14%and positive cases were mostly found in under-five children(24%).The vast majority(88%) of influenza cases were found during April to September. Virus detection rate was higher in inpatient department(IPD)(21%) than in outpatient department (12%).The dominant virus type and subtype was influenza A(87%) and H3(49%),respectively. Type A was significantly higher than type B in causing severe illness compared to ILI(0R=7.04, 95%CI:2.76-18.7,Pche and chest indrawing was found in significantly higher proportion(Pchildren and young *** peak season here was late summer and rainy season.

The chloromethyl groups have been introduced into commercial S/DVB copolymer matrixes via interpenetratingpolymer networks (IPN) synthesis. The procedure involves impregnation of the Amberlite XAD-4 adsorbent,with use of the vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) and divinylbenzene (DVB) monomers mixture, and suspensionpolymerization process. The syntheses were evaluated by FT-IR spectra and SEM analyses and furthermore bychlorine content determination as well as characterization of porous structure by nitrogen adsorption at liquid nitrogentemperature. Designed synthesis approach allowed determining organic and water phases composition. Furthermore,impact of an excess of the organic phase removal method has been investigated. Basing on the obtainedresults it could be stated that the chloromethyl groups, derived from VBC monomer, were successfully introducedinto the XAD-4 structure. Captured SEM images revealed significant changes in the beads’ surface morphology afterpolymerization processes. The presented studies reveal designed and executed synthesis processes, which involvethe use of a proper water phase and excess of organic phase removal. Observed changes in the beads’ morphologysuggest that introduced functionalities are concentrated on the porous surface of the XAD-4 adsorbent.

The phosphogypsum particles coated with organic emulsion were prepared by coating three kinds of organic emulsion of silicone-acrylic,styrene-acrylic and *** structure and mineralogical characteristics,acid and alkali resistance,water resistance and dissociation degree of coated phosphogypsum were studied by means of SEM-EDAX,optical microscope,gravimetric analysis and chemical *** results showed that the initial emulsion can be used directly for coating and granulation of *** spray re-coating was carried out by using diluted emulsion with the water-to-emulsion mass ratio of 1∶*** organic emulsion coated phosphogypsum crystal can be clearly observed,and the mixing zone at internal boundary between the organic emulsion and phosphogypsum crystal was distinguishable under the optical *** photos showed that the surface of coated phosphogypsum particles was *** the basic elements of C,O,S and Ca can be detected by *** emulsion can be solidified into film-network between the phosphogypsum crystals inside of the coated particles,and it can play a protective role in improving the acid resistance,alkali resistance and water resistance of phosphogypsum,and reduce the degree of dissociation of phosphogypsum in water.

In this study,an approach that integrates airborne imagery data as inputs was used to improve the estimation of soil water deficit(SWD)for maize and sunflower grown under full and deficit irrigation *** proposed model was applied to optimize the maximum total available soil water(TAWr)by minimizing the difference between a water stress coefficient ks and crop water stress index(1-CWSI).The optimal value of maximum TAWr was then used to calibrate a soil water balance model which in turn updated the estimation of soil water *** estimates of SWD in the soil profile of both irrigated maize and sunflower fields were evaluated with the crop root zone SWD derived from neutron probe measurements and the FAO-56 SWD *** results indicated a good agreement between the estimated SWD from the proposed approach and measured SWD for both maize and *** statistical analyses indicated that the maximum TAWr estimated from CWSI significantly improved the estimates of SWD,which reduced the mean absolute error(MAE)and root mean square error(RMSE)by 40%and 44%for maize and 22%for sunflower,compared with the FAO-56 *** proposed procedure works better for crops under deficit irrigation *** the availability of higher spatial and temporal resolution airborne imagery during the growing season,the optimization procedure can be further improved.
