This study examines the impact of China’s public health insurance program on the farm employment decisions of the rural *** a difference-in-differences(DID)model,this study indicates that the public health insurance reform led to reallocation of the rural labor force out of the farm sector by reducing the farm employment and increasing the likelihood of rural residents working in both the farm and nonfarm *** research finds that rural female residents who are of a younger age and in better health were more likely to leave farm employment when covered by public health *** evidence also finds that such public health insurance reform increased the individual income of the farm population.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is a common and impairing behavioral health disorder,impacting over 5%of children *** are multiple evidence-based pharmacological and psychosocial treatments for ADHD,and greater service utilization is associated with improved acute and long-term ***,long-term outcomes are suboptimal as multimodal treatments are often not accessed and most care ends *** narrative review discusses barriers to engagement for children and adolescents with ADHD and their families as well as interventions to overcome these *** face a variety of structural and attitudinal barriers,ranging from cost and access to stigma and low self-efficacy to successfully implement *** are multiple interventions that may enhance engagement with ADHD care including psychoeducation,integration of behavioral services in general medical settings,telehealth as well as specific adaptations to existing ADHD treatments,such as the use of motivational interviewing or shared decision *** of behavioral health into general medical settings and telehealth have been found in controlled studies to increase access by reducing both structural and attitudinal *** motivational interviewing,shared decision making and other engagement interventions to evidence-based ADHD treatments has been found to reduce attitudinal barriers that translates into improved participation and satisfaction while enhancing ***,little is known about how to promote extended engagement with ADHD services even though a chronic care model for ADHD is recommended.

Freshwater planorbid mollusks belonging to the genus Biomphalaria act as intermediate hosts for Schistosoma mansoni, the etiological agent of human intestinal schistosomiasis, in the Neotropical Region. Identification ofBiomphalaria spp. are carried out based on morphological characters, and the Schistosoma infection are determined by the presence of cercariae （verified through microscope preparation and mounting）. Recently, the geometric morphometrics has proven to be a useful tool for determining shape differences in disease vectors arthropods. Due to this, we used geometric morphometrics to determine Biomphalaria glabrata shell differences （shape and size） between uninfected and infected specimens. We digitalized 12 anatomical points over the shell left side （from umbilicus to the last whorl） by combining type I and II landmarks and sliding semilandmarks; the coordinates were aligned by generalized Procrustes analysis. Principal component analyses were implemented for examining main variation axes, and discriminant analysis for testing group membership significance. We found significant separation between infected and uninfected shell conformation. All specimens were 100% correctly classified. The main differences occur in the peristome. The Kruskal-Wallis test finds significant differences in shell isometric size among infected and uninfected specimens. These findings correspond to other studies of traditional morphometrics, that infected snails showed the reduction in shell size in contrast to those uninfected specimens

The arsenic removal efficiency of iron-modified activated carbons depends greatly on the number of available iron oxide surface sites, which are given by the surface area of the anchored particles. In this sense, aiming the generation of an adsorbent with superior arsenic adsorption capacity, we developed a protocol to anchor interconnected fibrils of iron oxyhydroxides, using Mn^(2+) as a morphology regulator. The protocol was based on a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, using bituminous based activated carbon and both Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+) ions in the hydrolysis solution. The elemental analysis of modified carbons revealed that Mn does not anchor to the carbon. However, when Mn is included in the hydrolysis solution, the iron content in the activated carbon increased up to 3.5 wt%,without considerable decreasing the adsorbent surface area. Under specific hydrothermal conditions, the Mn^(2+) promoted the formation of iron oxide nanoparticles shaped as interconnected fibrils. This material showed a superior arsenic adsorption capacity in comparison to similar iron modified activated carbons(5 mg As/g carbon, at 2 mg As/L),attributed to the increase in quantity and availability of active sites located on the novel interconnected fibrils of iron oxyhydroxides nanostructures.

We report the application of a solid lanthanum-ceria-zinc catalyst in the catalytic regeneration of diesel particulate filters （DPF） in diesel engines. We synthesized a CeO2- ZnO-La2O3 （Ce-Zn-La） mixed oxide by a lactic acid-mediated sol-gel method, which efficiently coated cordierite substrates for soot capture and combustion. We studied the effects of La loading on the physicochemical and catalytic properties of Ce-Zn mixed oxide during lowtemperature soot combustion processes. We characterized the synthesized catalysts by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, N2 adsorption, Raman spectroscopy, oxygen storage capacity （OSG）, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy （SEM and TEM）. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis （TGA/DTA） confirmed that the catalysts effectively reduced the soot oxidation temperature. The ternary Ce-Zn-La mixed oxide catalyst with Ce/Zn/La atomic ratio of 2：1：0.5 had the highest catalytic activity and promoted soot oxidation at temperatures below 390℃. This indicated that the large number of oxygen vacancies in the catalyst structure generated oxygen species at low temperatures. Raman spectroscopy measurements revealed the presence of oxygen vacancies and lattice defects in Ce-Zn-La samples, which were key parameters concerning the stability and redox properties of the prepared catalysts.

Influence of psychosocial factors on treatment of elderly Chinese patients with hypertension

Objective The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of psychosocial factors on the treatment of elderly patients with hypertension. Methods Atotalof 260 elderly Chinese patients with hypertension were treated with benazepril alone or benazepril combined with amlodipine for 8 weeks. The target blood pressure (BP) (both <140 mmHg systolic, SBP, and <90 mmHg diastolic, DBP) was achieved in 180 patients, who were then assigned to the well-controlled BP group;the rest were placed in the modestly controlled BP group. The psychosocial factors present in both groups were assessed by the Hamilton depression scale, Hamilton anxiety scale, life event scale and social support evaluation list before and after anti-hypertensive treatment. Results There were no significant differences in gender, mean age, hist ory of hypertension, education and smoking habit, or in SBP and DBP between the groups before treatment. Significant differences were also not found in all psychosocial factors before and after treatment in the patients. However, significant differences were found between the groups with respect to post-treatment SBP and marital status. The patients with modestly controlled BP had significantly higher scores, as well as incidents, on the depressive, anxiety, and stressful life event scales than those with well-controlled BP. The patients with well-controlled BP had significantly higher scores in tangible support, subjective support, and social support compared to the patients with modestly controlled BP. Logistic regression analysis showed the independent contribution of psychosocial factors in reaching the goal of lowering BP at treatment endpoint in these hypertensive patients. Conclusions The results suggest that psychosocial factors stand as a main barrier to achieving the BP-lowering target in the management of elderly Chinese patients with hypertension.(J Geriatr Cardiol 2007;4:202-207.)

This paper presents the first report of the successful ball-milling exfoliation of graphitic filaments （GANF~ carbon nanofibres） into single layer graphene. The addition of small amounts of solvent during the milling process makes it possible to enhance the intercalation of the exfoliating agent （melamine） between the graphene layers, thus promoting exceptional exfoliation. Advantage has also been taken of the fact that the Hansen solubility parameters of graphene are different from those of carbon fibres, which allows single and few-layer graphene to be suspended in a particular solvent, thus discriminating them from poorly exfoliated carbon nanofibres.

Objectives:Foodborne disease outbreaks linked to fruits and vegetables have been increasing in occurrence worldwide;therefore,the aim of this study was to identify the reported foodborne outbreaks associated with fruit and vegetable consumption in Brazil from 2008 to *** And Limitations:Thirty produce related outbreaks resulted in 2926 illnesses,347 hospitalizations,and no *** bacterial pathogens were identified as etiological *** these,Salmonella was the most frequent(30 per cent of outbreaks)followed by Staphylococcus aureus(23.3 per cent),Escherichia coli(10 per cent),Bacillus cereus(6.6 per cent),and thermotolerant coliforms(3.3 per cent),whereas etiological agents could not be determined for 26.6 per cent of *** most common food vehicles implicated in outbreaks were generically named as fruits and vegetables(46.6 per cent of outbreaks).The term salad was used generically and specifically like salads(two outbreaks),raw/cooked salads(four outbreaks),vegetable salad,tropical salad,Caesar salad,and raw salad of cabbage and *** one outbreak was related exclusively to fruit(fruit pulp),whereas other outbreaks were related to cooked carrot,lettuce,cucumber,watermelon/cabbage,and chard/*** sources and issues related to the future control of produce-related foodborne disease outbreaks are discussed.
