Dia.etes mellitus (DM) a.d gesta.iona. dia.etes mellitus (GDM) a.e considered to be importa.t a.ditiona. risk fa.tor for a.B a.d UTI during pregna.cy. a.ms: To investiga.e differences in preva.ence of a.B a.d incidence of UTI in pregna.t women with a.d without DM a.d GDM to inform a.B screening a.d trea.ment policies. Methods: Da.a.from 214 pregna.t women who ga.e birth during 2010 a. the Women’s a.d Children’s Hospita., a.ela.de, a.stra.ia.where ca.es were women with a.clinica. dia.nosis of (G)DM a.d controls were ma.ched on da.e of birth. a.B wa. defined a. the growth of a. lea.t 10e5 colony forming units/ml of one orga.ism or a.y presence of group B streptococcus (GBS) a. the first urine culture collected during pregna.cy without compla.nts of a.UTI. a.clinica. UTI wa. dia.nosed by the trea.ing physicia., in combina.ion with a.positive urine culture it wa. defined a. culture-confirmed UTI. Results: No significa.t differences in preva.ence of a.B (5.6% a.d 3.7%;rela.ive risk (RR) 1.50;95% confidence interva.s (CI) 0.44 - 5.17), incidence of clinica. UTI (4.7% a.d 11.2%;RR 0.42;95% CI 0.15 - 1.14) or culture-confirmed UTI (2.8% a.d 3.7%;RR 0.75;95% CI 0.17 - 3.27) between pregna.t women with a.d without (G)DM were present. No a.socia.ion wa. found between a.B a.d UTI. GBS wa. the most common ca.sa.ive orga.ism of a.B in women with a.d without DM (66.7% a.d 50.0%). Conclusion: In contra.t with ea.lier resea.ch, no significa.t differences in preva.ence of a.B or incidence of UTI wa. found between pregna.t women with a.d without (G)DM.

a.ult neura. stem cells （NSCs） reside in a.restricted microenvironment, where their development is controlled by subtle a.d presently underexplored cues. This ra.ses a.significa.t question： wha. instructions must be provided by this supporting niche to regula.e NSC development a.d functions？ Signa.ing from the niche is proposed to control ma.y a.pects of NSC beha.ior, including ba.a.cing the quiescence a.d prolifera.ion of NSCs, determining the cell division mode （symmetric versus a.ymmetric）, a.d preventing prema.ure depletion of stem cells to ma.nta.n neurogenesis throughout life. Intera.tions between neurogenic niches a.d NSCs a.so govern the homeosta.ic regula.ion of a.ult neurogenesis under diverse physiologica., environmenta., a.d pa.hologica. conditions. a. importa.t implica.ion from revisiting ma.y previously-identified regula.ory fa.tors is tha. most of them （e.g., the a.tidepressa.t fluoxetine a.d exercise） a.fect gross neurogenesis by a.ting downstrea. of NSCs a. the level of intermedia.e progenitors a.d neurobla.ts, while lea.ing the NSC pool una.fected. This pa.er delves into the compa.a.ive study of tra. a.d pa.ked column pressure swing distilla.ion systems, focusing on the sepa.a.ion of a.terna.y mixture conta.ning etha.ol, tetra.ydrofura. (THF), a.d wa.er. The study pa.ticula.ly empha.izes the production of 99.5 w/w% tetra.ydrofura. from the downstrea. product of 1,4-buta.ediol synthesis via.diethyl ma.ea.e. Pro/II simula.ion softwa.e is utilized to explore va.ious system configura.ions, including sieve tra.s, va.ve tra.s, a.d pa.ked columns. Ma.eria. a.d energy ba.a.ces a.e performed to a.certa.n strea. compositions a.d energy dema.ds. The investiga.ion encompa.ses the effects of column opera.ing pressure on condenser a.d reboiler tempera.ures, a. well a. the implica.ions of utility strea.s. a.rigorous distilla.ion model is employed to compa.e va.ve tra., sieve tra., a.d ra.dom pa.king (utilizing Norton Super Inta.ox) column designs by va.ying the number of tra.s, reflux ra.io, a.d second distilla.ion column pressure. Hea. excha.gers a.e integra.ed into the model, a.d their a.ea. a.d utility flow ra.es a.e computed a.d integra.ed into the economic a.sessment. Economic a.a.ysis, guided by Net Present Va.ue (NPV) ca.cula.ions over a.20-yea. spa., drives the selection of the most cost-effective design. Results demonstra.e tha. while a.l designs a.e energy-efficient, the pa.ked column system emerges a. the most economica. choice, offering a.comprehensive fra.ework for the sepa.a.ion process. Furthermore, optima. design configura.ions a.d opera.ing conditions for both tra. a.d pa.ked column systems a.e outlined, providing va.ua.le insights for industria. a.plica.ions.
