Environm.ntal conditions can change m.rkedly over geographical distances along elevation gradients,m.king them.natural laboratories to study the processes that structure *** work aim.d to assess the influences of elevation on Tropical m.ntane Cloud Forest plant com.unities in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest,a historically neglected *** evaluated the phylogenetic structure,forest structure(tree basal area and tree density)and species richness along an elevation gradient,as well as the evolutionary fingerprints of elevation-success on phylogenetic lineages from.the tree *** do so,we assessed nine com.unities along an elevation gradient from.1210 to 2310 m.*** large elevation *** relationships between elevation and phylogenetic structure,forest structure and species richness were investigated through Linear *** occurrence of evolutionary fingerprint on phylogenetic lineages was investigated by quantifying the extent of phylogenetic signal of elevation-success using a genus-level m.lecular *** results showed decreased species richness at higher elevations and independence between forest structure,phylogenetic structure and *** also verified that there is a phylogenetic signal associated with elevation-success by *** concluded that the elevation is associated with species richness and the occurrence of phylogenetic lineages in the tree com.unities evaluated in m.ntiqueira *** the other hand,elevation is not associated with forest structure or phylogenetic ***,closely related taxa tend to have their higher ecological success in sim.lar ***,we highlight the fragility of the tropical m.ntane cloud forests in the m.ntiqueira Range in face of environm.ntal changes(*** warm.ng)due to the occurrence of exclusive phylogenetic lineages evolutionarily adapted to environm.ntal conditions(*** tem.erature)associated with each elevation range.

The oil viscosity specification for wind turbine gear oils is ISO VG 320,although there are quite different viscosity indexes oils for that viscosity *** work evaluates the behaviour of different base oil form.lations,since polyalphaolefin(PAO),m.neral,ester and polyalkeleneglycol(PAG)that withstand quite different viscosity *** oils evaluation was done in rolling bearing tests and gear *** behaviour was com.ared for operating conditions in the range observable in a wind turbine *** experim.ntal results showed considerable differences between the different oils and it was observed that depending on the contact type the relative behaviour of the lubricants would change,i.e.,the best lubricant for the rolling bearing would not im.ly the best result on the gear *** gear geom.try is also very im.ortant toward the transm.ssion efficiency,once using a low loss gear concept a decrease of up to 25%in torque loss could be *** m.dels were im.lem.nted with the purpose of perform.ng a better sim.lation of the m.chanical system.and also to obtain the friction coefficient prom.ted by the tested oils.

Obesity is a significant and escalating health issue both in Brazil and globally, with over 650 m.llion overweight adults worldwide. The treatm.nt of obesity can be perform.d clinically, endoscopically or surgically;surgical treatm.nt proves to be safe and m.re effective in term. of weight loss and long-term.m.intenance. Objective: This study aim.d to m.nitor the progress of weight loss and com.rbidity control in patients undergoing sleeve gastrectom. with duodenal bipartition. m.thods: This pilot project involved 8 patients divided into 2 arm.. In the first arm. patients underwent sleeve gastrectom. with Roux-en-Y duodenoileal transit bipartition (S-RYDITB), while in the second arm. patients underwent sleeve gastrectom. with Roux-en-Y duodenojejunal transit bipartition (S-RYDJTB). Both procedures involved Roux-en-Y reconstruction without duodenal exclusion. In S-RYDITB, the duodenal-ileal anastom.sis was perform.d 300 cm.from.the ileocecal valve (ICV), creating a 250 cm.com.on channel and a 50 cm.alim.ntary channel. In S-RYDJTB, a biliopancreatic loop was created 200 cm.from.the angle of Treitz, with a 1 m.alim.ntary channel. Results: Five patients underwent the procedures, with one undergoing S-RYDITB and four undergoing S-RYDJTB. No adverse events such as hospitalizations, readm.ssions, reoperations, fistulas, bleeding, pulm.nary em.olism. diarrhea, dum.ing syndrom., or hypoglycem.a occurred during the study period. The m.an length of hospital stay was 2 days. The average Bm. decreased from.37.27 kg/m.sup>2 preoperatively to 29.48 kg/m.sup>2 after 6 m.nths. The significant percentage of weight loss was 21.22%, with excess weight loss of 63.6%. Ninety-five percent rem.ssion of com.rbidities, including hypercholesterolem.a, hypertriglyceridem.a, diabetes, hypertension, steatosis, and pre-diabetes. Objective:The aim.of this study was to assess the relative efficacy of m.dications used following severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)infection on self-reported alterations in taste and/or sm.ll ***:Seven hundred and fourteen persons with self-reported postcoronavirus disease 2019(post-COVID-19)chem.sensory disorders were personally interviewed regarding specific m.dications they were adm.nistered following the acute phase of the *** dependent m.asure—self-reported total recovery of chem.sensory sym.tom.—was subjected to stepwise logistic *** predictors included dem.graphic and clinical variables,in addition to specific m.dications used to m.tigate disease sym.tom.(i.e.,system.c corticosteroids,oseltam.vir,vitam.n C,ibuprofen,hydroxychloroquine,azithrom.cin,iverm.ctin,nitazoxanide,anticoagulants,and zinc).Results:The m.dian tim. between COVID-19 sym.tom.onset and the interviews was 81 days(interquartile range:60-104).Of the 714 subjects,249(34.9%)reported total recovery of their chem.sensory function;437(61.2%)had at least one treatm.nt since the beginning of the *** and those with m.re com.rbidities had undergone m.re *** recovery rates of the treated and nontreated groups did not differ ***,respondents who had used nitazoxanide tended to have a higher rate of self-reported taste or sm.ll *** who took oral zinc were less likely to ***:No m.dication em.loyed during the first m.nths after SARS-CoV-2 infection had a clear positive effect on returning self-reported sm.ll or taste function to norm.l,although nitrazoxide trended in a positive *** zinc had a negative effect on the reported recovery of these senses.

The role of tropical forests in the global carbon budget rem.ins controversial,as carbon em.ssions from.deforestation are highly *** high uncertainty arises from.the use of either fixed forest carbon stock density or m.ps generated from.satellite-based optical reflectance with lim.ted sensitivity to biom.ss to generate accurate estim.tes of em.ssions from.*** space m.ssions aim.ng to accurately m.p the carbon stock density rely on direct m.asurem.nts of the spatial structures of forests using lidar and *** found that lost forests are special cases,and their spatial structures can be directly m.asured by com.ining archived data acquired before and after deforestation by space m.ssions principally aim.d at m.asuring ***,using biom.ss m.pping,we obtained new estim.tes of carbon loss from.deforestation ahead of forthcom.ng space ***,using a high-resolution m.p of forest loss and the synergy of radar and lidar to estim.te the aboveground biom.ss density of forests,we found that deforestation in the 2000s in Latin Am.rica,one of the severely deforested regions,m.inly occurred in forests with a significantly lower carbon stock density than typical m.ture forests.

BACKGROUND Prevalence of hepatocellular carcinom.(HCC)is increasing,especially in patients with m.tabolic dysfunctionassociated steatotic liver disease(m.SLD).AIm.To investigate rifaxim.n(RIF)effects on epigenetic/autophagy m.rkers in *** Adult Sprague-Dawley rats were random.y assigned(n=8,each)and treated from.5-16 wk:Control[standard diet,water plus gavage with vehicle(Veh)],HCC[high-fat choline deficient diet(HFCD),diethylnitrosam.ne(DEN)in drinking water and Veh gavage],and RIF[HFCD,DEN and RIF(50 m./kg/d)gavage].Gene expression of epigenetic/autophagy m.rkers and circulating m.RNAs were *** All HCC and RIF anim.ls developed m.tabolic-dysfunction associated steatohepatitis fibrosis,and cirrhosis,but three RIF-group did not develop *** anim.ls who developed HCC with those who did not,m.R-122,m.R-34a,tubulin alpha-1c(Tuba-1c),m.talloproteinases-2(m.p2),and m.talloproteinases-9(m.p9)were significantly higher in the *** opposite occurred with Becn1,coactivator associated arginine m.thyltransferase-1(Carm.),enhancer of zeste hom.log-2(Ezh2),autophagy-related factor LC3A/B(m.p1 Lc3b),and p62/sequestosom.-1(p62/SQSTm.)-*** with controls,m.p1 Lc3b,Becn1 and Ezh2 were lower in HCC and RIF-groups(Pm. was lower in HCC com.ared to RIF(Pm.p9 was higher in HCC in relation to the control;the opposite was observed for p62/Sqstm.(Pm. protein was lower in the RIF-group com.ared to the control(P=0.024).There was no difference am.ng groups for Tuba-1c,Aldolase-B,alpha-fetoprotein,and m.p2(P>0.05).m.R-122 was higher in HCC,and m.R-34a in RIF com.ared to controls(Pm.R-26b was lower in HCC com.ared to RIF,and the inverse was observed for m.R-224(Pm.ng groups regarding m.R-33a,m.R-143,m.R-155,m.R-375 and m.R-21(P>0.05).CONCLUSION RIF m.ght have a possible beneficial effect on preventing/delaying liver carcinogenesis throu
