Dynamic tensile properties of glass-fiber polymer composites embedded with ZnO nanowhiskers are investigated by a split Hopkinson tensile bar. The stress-strain curves, ultimate strength, failure strain and elastic modulus are obtained and the failure mechanism of the composites is investigated by the macroscopic and microscopic observation of fractured specimens. The strain rate effect on the mechanical behavior is discussed and a constitutive model is derived by simulating the experimental data. The experimental results show that the materials have an obvious non-linear constitutive relation and strain rate strengthening effect. The composites with ZnO nanowhiskers under dynamic loading have various failure modes and better mechanical properties.

screw-cone-like Zn_(2)GeO_(4)-ZnO particles with a base diameter of approximately 400 nm and a height of 400–800 nm or so were successfully synthesised by combustion oxidation of zinc and germanium powder at 960℃.No catalyst or carrier gases were *** and SEM analyses reveal that Zn_(2)GeO_(4) and ZnO grew to parasitic crystals evenly in interaction with each *** images exhibit the homogeneity of the distribution of Ge and *** formation mechanism is discussed and attributed to the unique growth process of the screw-cone-like Zn_(2)GeO_(4)-ZnO particles and its vapour-solid(VS)growth *** addition,the Zn_(2)GeO_(4)-ZnO particles could tune the energy level structure of nano-tetrapod ZnO,which leads to the emission peak redshift from 376 nm to 435 nm and enhances the light emission intensity in the visible light region.

We synthesize composite systems of multi-wall carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)/SiO_(2) by using the sol−gel *** dielectric properties of the systems with different-concentration MWCNTs are *** our MWCNTs/SiO_(2) inorganic systems,the twin−percolation phenomenon exists when the concentrations of MWCNTs are 5–10%and 15–20%.The permittivity and conductivity have jumping *** twin−percolation phenomenon is attributed to the special transfer mechanism of MWCNTs in the system,determined by hopping and migrating *** of dielectric properties and conductance of the MWCNTs/SiO_(2) systems are conformed to the percolation *** special percolation phenomenon and electric properties of MWCNTs/SiO_(2) can help us comprehend the conductivity mechanism of the MWCNTs/SiO2 systems effectively,and promote the development of a high performance function composite system.

Multifunctional materials are powerful tools to support the advancement of energy conversion *** with prominent electromagnetic and electrochemical properties can realize the conversion of electromagnetic energy and solve the subsequent storage ***,an electrospinning-thermal reduction method is employed to construct ultrafine nickel nanoparticle modified porous SiO_(2)/C(Ni-SiO_(2)/C)hollow nanofibers as promising materials for applications in both electromagnetic wave absorption(EMA)and lithium-ion ***,when used as an EMA material,the reflection loss(RL)of Ni-SiO_(2)/C can reach−47.8 dB at 15.8 GHz with a matching thickness of 2.2 *** excellent microwave absorption performance can be attributed to the enhanced conduction loss,polarization relaxation,synergistic magnetic loss,and preferred impedance matching,which result from multi-component magnetic/dielectric synergy and the unique interconnected multidimensional hollow ***,the electronic conductivity and electrochemical activity of the samples are significantly enhanced due to the uniform distribution of ultrafine Ni nanoparticles in the amorphous SiO_(2)/C ***,the hierarchical hollow porous structure provides sufficient free space for volume change during lithiation/delithiation ***,the Ni-SiO_(2)/C nanocomposite exhibits a high reversible capacity of 917.6 mAh·g^(−1)at 0.1 A·g^(−1).At a high current density of 2 A·g^(−1),a capacity of 563.9 mAh·g^(−1)can be maintained after 300 *** energy conversion-storage device is designed to store waste electromagnetic energy in the form of useful electrical *** work inspires the development of high-performance bifunctional materials.

With the diversified development of big data,detection and precision guidance technologies,electromagnetic(EM)functional materials and devices serving multiple spectrums have become a hot *** the multispectral response of materials is a challenging and meaningful scientific *** this study,MXene/TiO_(2)hybrids with tunable conduction loss and polarization relaxation are fabricated by in situ atomic reconstruction *** importantly,MXene/TiO_(2)hybrids exhibit adjustable spectral responses in the GHz,infrared and visible spectrums,and several EM devices are constructed based on *** antenna array provides excellent EM energy harvesting in multiple microwave bands,with|S11|up to−63.2 dB,and can be tuned by the degree of *** ultra-wideband bandpass filter realizes a passband of about 5.4 GHz and effectively suppresses the transmission of EM signals in the *** infrared stealth device has an emissivity of less than 0.2 in the infrared spectrum at wavelengths of 6-14μ*** work can provide new inspiration for the design and development of multifunctional,multi-spectrum EM devices.
