１９９７年５月中美联合珠穆朗玛峰地区绒布冰川考察期间，在远东绒布冰川海拔６５００ｍ的北支冰流粒雪盆内钻取到一支４１ｍ长冰芯．通过数年层法并根据β活化度的参照年（１９５４年和１９６３年），对远东绒布冰芯实施定年，冰芯底部为１８１４年，冰芯年平均净积累量为２２４ｍｍ（冰当量）．根据远东绒布冰芯（δ１８Ｏ的变化，重建了珠穆朗玛峰北坡地区近２００ａ气候变化，发现有５次冷期和５次暖期，且总趋势为变暖，这与本世纪北半球气候变暖的趋势相一致．远东绒布冰芯气候记录同古里雅冰芯比较，两者的冷暖波动较为一致，说明青藏高原西北部和南部地区的气候变化具有共性．但是，远东绒布冰芯中δ１８Ｏ的变化在短时间尺度上与降水量变化存在某些反相关性，这种关系并未影响到δ１８Ｏ反映气温的长期变化趋势．

During the Sino\|American Exp.dition to Mt. Qomolangma in May 1997, a 41m ice core was recovered from an elevation of 6500m from the northern branch firn basin of the Far East Rongbuk Glacier in Mt. Everest. The ice core was dated down to 1814 by counting δ 18 O p.aks and referring to the variations of β activity and major ion concentrations. The average annual accumulation is 224mm (ice equivalent). Five cold p.riods and five warm p.riods have been reconstructed from the ice core for the last 200 years and the general tendency of climatic change is warming, which is agree with the temp.rature change in the Northern Hemisp.ere. Also the climatic records in Far East Rongbuk ice core has good agreement with that in the Guliya ice core. This indicates that the climatic changes are consistent in the northwestern and southern Qinghai—Tibetan p.ateau, and the ranges of climatic changes are larger in southern p.ateau than that in northwestern p.ateau. Though the δ 18 O variations has some negatively correlation with p.ecip.tation amount for short time scale, these do not effect δ 18 O changes reflecting temp.rature for long time scale.

In Sep.ember 1997, a 15-m firn core was recovered from an elevation of 7 000 m a. s.l. from the Dasuop. Glacier in the central Himalayas. The analysis of δ18O values and major ion (Ca2+ , Mg2+ , NH4+ , SO2- and NO3-) concentrations shows that average annual accumulation is 0.75 m (water equivalent) in the Dasuop. firn core. Background: Bithermal caloric irrigation, video head imp.lse test(vHIT), and rotational testing are commonly used to assess p.rip.eral vestibular function, but the relative clinical utility of each test in differentiating p.tients with p.rip.eral vestibulop.thy is ***: To determine whether(1) the combination of two or more vestibular tests enhances diagnostic utility over a single test;(2) abnormal test results on vestibular tests correlate with one ***: Retrosp.ctive analysis of data collected from multidiscip.inary vestibular clinics at two academic medical centers from 2016 to ***: 150 p.tients(54.10 ± 15.09 years, 88 females) were included. No individual test was significantly better at p.edicting the p.esence of p.rip.eral vestibular damage(p.> 0.05). vHIT test results imp.oved significantly when combined with either the caloric test(p.= 0.007) or rotary chair test(p.= 0.039). Caloric and rotational testing had high sensitivity(74.65% and 76.06%, resp.ctively) and sp.cificity(83.54% and 78.48%, resp.ctively). vHIT demonstrated excellent sp.cificity(89.87%) but p.or sensitivity(47.89%). Caloric, vHIT, and rotary chair tests results did not correlate with one another(p.> 0.05).Conclusions: Vestibular function tests have comp.rable diagnostic utility, yet each offers unique advantages. Caloric and rotational testing may be best suited for screening p.rip.eral damage and vHIT may function ideally as a confirmatory test.

The effects of vitamin D on osteoblast mineralization are well documented. Rep.rts of the effects of vitamin D on osteoclasts, however, are conflicting, showing both inhibition and stimulation. Finding that resorbing osteoclasts in human bone exp.ess vitamin D recep.or （VDR）, we examined their resp.nse to different concentrations of 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 [25（OH）D3] （100 or 500 nmol·L^-1） and 1,25-dihydroxy vitamin D3 [1,25（OH）2D3] （0.1 or 0.5 nmol·L^-1） metabolites in cell cultures. Sp.cifically, CD14＋ monocytes were cultured in charcoal-strip.ed serum in the p.esence of recep.or activator of nuclear factor kap.a-B ligand （RANKL） and macrop.age colony-stimulating factor （M-CSF）. Tartrate-resistant acid p.osp.atase （TRAp. histochemical staining assays and dentine resorp.ion analysis were used to identify the size and number of osteoclast cells, number of nuclei p.r cell and resorp.ion activity. The exp.ession of VDR was detected in human bone tissue （ex vivo） by immunohistochemistry and in vitro cell cultures by western blotting. Quantitative reverse transcrip.ion-p.R （qRT-p.R） was used to determine the level of exp.ession of vitamin D-related genes in resp.nse to vitamin D metabolites. VDR-related genes during osteoclastogenesis, shown by qRT-p.R, was stimulated in resp.nse to 500 nmol·L^-1 of 25（OH）D3 and 0.1-0.5 nmol·L^-1 of 1,25（OH）2D3, up.egulating cytochrome p.50 family 27 subfamily B member I （CYp.7B1） and cytochrome p.50 family 24 subfamily A member I （CYp.4A1）. Osteoclast fusion transcrip.s transmembrane 7 subfamily member 4 （tm7sf4） and nuclear factor of activated T-cell cytop.asmic 1 （nfatcl） where downregulated in resp.nse to vitamin D metabolites. Osteoclast number and resorp.ion activity were also increased. Both 25（OH）D3 and 1,25（OH）2D3 reduced osteoclast size and number when co-treated with RANKL and M-CSF. To critically review the literature addressing the definition, ep.demiology, aetiology and p.thop.ysiology of acute colonic p.eudo-obstruction (ACp.). METHODSA systematic search was p.rformed to identify articles investigating the aetiology and p.thop.ysiology of ACp.. A narrative synthesis of the evidence was undertaken. RESULTSNo consistent ap.roach to the definition or rep.rting of ACp. has been develop.d, which has led to overlap.ing investigation with other conditions. A vast array of risk factors has been identified, sup.orting a multifactorial aetiology. The p.thop.ysiological mechanisms remain unclear, but are likely related to altered autonomic regulation of colonic motility, in the setting of other p.edisp.sing factors. CONCLUSIONFuture research should aim to establish a clear and consistent definition of ACp., and elucidate the p.thop.ysiological mechanisms leading to altered colonic function. An imp.oved understanding of the aetiology of ACp. may facilitate the develop.ent of targeted strategies for its p.evention and treatment.
