Air temperature(Tair)is a fundamental variable in climate research and climate impact *** field observations do not accurately capture its spatial distribution due to the sparse and uneven distribution of weather stations,especially in remote areas where the local variability is *** circumvent this problem,in this study,remote sensing and weather station data were used to estimate Tair in the Souss watershed in *** statistical methods,including linear regression and partial least squares(PLS),and four machine learning algorithms,namely k-nearest neighbors,random forest(RF),extreme gradient boost,and Cubist,were used for modeling and predicting Tair and its performance were evaluated using random subsets and *** resolution imaging spectroradiometer predictors,including Terra band 32 emissivity,Terra nighttime land surface temperature,Terra local time of night observation,Aqua band 31 emissivity,Aqua daytime land surface tempera-ture,and Aqua nighttime land surface temperature(ALSTN),and auxiliary inputs,including sky-view,elevation,slope,and hillshade,were used as inputs for *** results showed that the Cubist and RF were the most accurate models(RMSe=2.09°C and 2.13°C,R2=0.91 and 0.90,respectively),while PLS had the lowest predictive power(RMSe=2.71°C;R2=0.83).The overall performance of the models for estimating Tair in the study area was generally satisfac-tory,with RMSe limited to less than 3°C for all ***,the station data reliability was still an issue,with only four of the seven stations marked by complete meteorological data.

本试验旨在探究饲粮中添加不同水平美藤果油对蛋鸡生产性能、蛋品质以及蛋黄中ω-3多不饱和脂肪酸(PUFA)与维生素e富集的影响。选取40周龄健康、产蛋率和体重相近的海兰褐蛋鸡450只,随机分为5个组,每组6个重复,每重复15只。对照组饲粮中添加0.67%的玉米油,亚麻籽油组(FO组)饲粮中添加2.0%的亚麻籽油,其他3组饲粮中分别添加2.0%(SO 2.0组)、2.5%(SO_(2.5)组)、3.0%(SO_(3.0)组)的美藤果油,试验期12周。结果显示:1)与对照组相比,饲粮中添加不同水平美藤果油对蛋鸡的产蛋率、料蛋比、平均日采食量和蛋品质均无显著影响(P>0.05),SO_(3.0)组的平均蛋重显著提高(Pe的总含量无显著影响(P>0.05)。综上可知,在蛋鸡饲粮中添加美藤果油可大幅提高ω-3 PUFA在蛋黄中的沉积量,降低ω-6/ω-3 PUFA比值,且对生产性能和蛋品质无不良影响,可用于生产ω-3 PUFA强化鸡蛋。

Clinical Presentation and evolution of Systemic Lupus at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou (Benin)

Introduction: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLe) is a non-organ-specific autoimmune disease with an unknown origin. The unchanged trend of premature mortality in systemic lupus erythematosus shows the critical unmet need for improved and optimized management of systemic lupus erythematosus. Objectives: To analyze the clinical features and the prognostic factors of death in SLe at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou. Patients and Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study. It was conducted over the period from January 1st 2010 to December 31st 2021. The study population consisted of all patients followed for SLe in the internal medicine, rheumatology, nephrology and dermatology wards at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou. Results: 88 cases were recorded in 12 years, i.e. an incidence of 7 cases per year. There were 80 women and 8 men with a mean age of 36.4 ± 13.1 years. The clinical picture was dominated by mucocutaneous (86.3%) and osteoarticular (71.5%) disorders. The biological abnormalities observed were anemia (78.8%), lymphopenia (43.1%) and thrombocytopenia (17.7%). 39 patients had renal damage (44.3%). The incidence of death was 17%. Factors associated with death were renal involvement, infectious complications, high initial SLeDAI score, flare, thrombocytopenia and lymphopenia. Conclusion: Mortality related to SLe remains high at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou. Renal involvement, infectious complications, high initial SLeDAI score, flare, lymphopenia and thrombocytopenia were the factors associated with death. The presence of these factors should lead to an evaluation of the treatment.

Periconceptional growth hormone treatment alters early uterine environment

We have shown that an injection of sustained release growth hormone (GH), given just prior to breeding, results in lambs that are 25% heavier at birth, with an altered body composition as evidenced by an increased abdominal girth, but no difference in crown rump length. The mechanisms by which these differences occur from a single periconceptional injection are not yet known. Therefore, the objective of this experiment was to determine the effect of an injection of GH given prior to breeding on the composition of the uterine luminal environment and the embryo at the time of blastocyst. ewes were synchronized with two injections of prostaglandin F2α given eight days apart. On the day of the second injection, ewes were randomly assigned to be given an injection of sustained release GH or remain as controls and penned with a ram. On day 6.5 following breeding embryos were collected. Prior to surgery a jugular blood sample was taken to determine plasma progesterone and urea concentration. The uterine content of urea, prostaglandin F2α, prostaglandin e2, transforming growth factor β-1 (TGF β), and nitric oxide metabolites were measured. Collected embryos were differentially stained to calculate a trophectoderm to inner cell mass ratio. The concentration of progesterone in maternal plasma was greater in the treated group compare to controls, but blood urea nitrogen was not different between groups. The uterine content of urea in the GH group was lower than that of the control group. There was a trend for TGF β to be increased in the GH treated group compared to control (P = 0.07). There was no difference (P > 0.05) in the total uterine content prostaglandin F2α, prostaglandin e2 or nitric oxide metabolites. The trophectoderm to inner cell mass ratio was not different between treatment groups. Thus, we suggest that the observed difference in fetal development following periconceptional growth hormone administration just prior to breeding may be the result of an alteration

Toxicological Assessment of Irvingia gabonensis Leaf extracts in Albino Rats: A Comparative Study between Aqueous and ethanol extraction Methods

Background: This study aimed to assess the toxicity of Irvingia gabonensis leaf extracts in albino rats and investigate their effects on body weight, liver function parameters, and renal function parameters. The research specifically compared the outcomes of aqueous and ethanol extraction methods. Methods: Acute toxicity was evaluated by administering a single oral dose of Irvingia gabonensis leaf extracts to rats and monitoring them for 24 hours and during a 14-day observation period. Sub-acute toxicity was assessed through a 28-day administration of the leaf extract. Body weight changes, liver function parameters, and renal function parameters were measured and compared among treatment groups. Results: No signs of toxicity or mortality were observed in rats treated with Irvingia gabonensis leaf extracts obtained through either aqueous or ethanol extraction methods. The calculated lethal dose required to cause mortality in 50% of the tested animals (LD50) exceeded 5000 mg/kg body weight. Oral administration of the leaf extract at doses of 400 and 800 mg/kg body weight did not induce any observable signs of toxicity or adverse effects during the 28-day study period. Male and female albino rats treated with the leaf extract showed significant weight gains compared to the control group. Higher doses (800 mg/kg) of both aqueous and ethanol extracts led to increased levels of total protein, albumin, and globulin in male albino rats, with the ethanol extract exhibiting a more pronounced effect. The administration of the ethanol extract, particularly at the lower dose (400 mg/kg), resulted in decreased levels of liver enzymes (AST, ALT, and ALP), suggesting potential liver protective properties. Additionally, bilirubin levels, a marker of liver dysfunction, were significantly reduced in all treatment groups, with the lowest levels observed in the groups receiving higher doses of both aqueous and ethanol extracts. 为了解控制粳稻产量相关性状及其中亲优势的基因作用类型,利用秀堡RIL群体及其2个回交（BCF1）群体对株高、生育期、单株有效穗数、穗长、每穗颖花数、结实率、一次枝梗数和二次枝梗数8个性状及其中亲杂种优势进行QTL定位。共检测到58个显著的主效QTL（M-QTL）,单个M-QTL的贡献率变幅为3.3%~41.9%。77.6%的M-QTL表现为加性效应,15.5%的M-QTL表现为部分或完全显性效应,6.9%的M-QTL表现为超显性效应。共检测到90对显著的双基因上位性QTL（e-QTL）。在RIL群体中检测到44对e-QTL,单对e-QTL的贡献率变幅为1.7%~8.0%,平均3.7%。在XSBCF1群体中检测到27对e-QTL,其中利用BCF1表型值检测到16对e-QTL,单对e-QTL的贡献率变幅为12.7%~78.5%,平均29.2%;利用中亲优势值检测到11对e-QTL,单对e-QTL的贡献率变幅为15.0%~71.8%,平均40.1%。在CBBCF1群体中检测到19对e-QTL,其中利用BCF1表型值检测到12对e-QTL,单对e-QTL的贡献率变幅为2.7%~64.4%,平均30.1%;利用中亲优势值检测到9对e-QTL,单对e-QTL的贡献率变幅为21.7%~64.1%,平均40.0%。在CBBCF1群体中,利用BCF1表型值和中亲优势值都检测到的e-QTL有2对。上述结果表明上位性效应是粳稻秀堡组合杂种优势的主要遗传基础。
