High resolution linkage disequilibrium and haplotype maps for the genes in the centromeric region of chromosome 15 in Tibetans and comparisons with Han population

Genetic variations and their functional implications have been one of the focuses in recent genome research. With the release of the HapMap by the International Consortium, and the availability of the ultra-high-volume genotyping platform, it will soon be possible to use genome-wide association ap- proach to identify genetic variations responsible for complex traits/diseases. While the power of this ap- proach is generally agreed, it is a debated issue as to how much population difference should be exploited, and how best it should be applied. To address this issue we have sequenced 7 genes in the centromeric region of chromosome 15, investigated their SNPs, SNP frequencies, tagSNPs, LD structures, and hap- lotypes in 50 Tibetan subjects, and compared them with those from the Han population. Genetic diversi- ties between the two populations were also quantified. Our results show that the overall genetic variation between the two populations is very little, but there are differences, primarily in allele frequencies, which is a dominating factor for haplotypes and tagSNPs. In general Tibetans have longer LD and less diversity inthe region studied. These data provide genetic evi- dence for the close relationship between the two populations, and support the idea that all populations are fundamentally the same, but also indicate popu- lation variations, particularly in allele frequency, should be taken into account in complex traits/ dis- eases analysis. Data obtained in this investigation not only help us understand the genome region, but also provide road maps for variation study in the genes/ region in Tibetan population.

Transmission Based Conditional Logistic Model for Testing Main and Interaction Effects

Transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) is a popular family based genetic association method. Under multiplicative assumption, a conditional logistic regression for matched pair, affected offspring with allele transmitted from parents and pseudo-offspring (control) with allele non-transmitted from parents, was built to detect the main effects of genes and gene-covariate interactions. When there exist genotype uncertainties, expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm was adopted to estimate the coefficients. The transmission model was applied to detect the association between M235T polymorphism in AGT gene and essential hypertension (ESH). Most of parents are not available in the 126 families from HongKong Chinese population. The results showed M235T is associated with hypertension and there is interaction between M235T and the case’s sex. The allele T is higher risk for male than female.

Maize(Zea mays L.)is a monoecious grass plant in which mature male and female florets form the tassel and ear,*** is often used as a model plant to study flower *** maize tassel seed mutants,such as the recessive mutants tasselseed1(ts1)and tasselseed2(ts2),exhibit a reversal in sex determination,which leads to the generation of seeds in *** phenotype of the dominant mutant,Tasselseed5(Ts5),is similar to that of ***,we positionally cloned the underlying gene of Ts5 and characterized its *** show that the GRMZM2G177668 gene is overexpressed in *** gene encodes a cytochrome C oxidase,which catalyzes the transformation of jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine(JA-Ile)to 12 OH-JA-Ile during jasmonic acid *** with this finding,no JA-Ile peak was detected in Ts5 tassels during the sex determination period,unlike in the wild *** maize plants overexpressing GRMZM2G177668 exhibited a tassel-seed phenotype similar to that of *** results indicate that the JA-Ile peak in tassels is critical for sex determination and that the Ts5 mutant phenotype results from the disruption of this peak in tassels during sex determination.

Twenty-seven continental ancestry-informative SNP analysis of bone remains to resolve a forensic case

We employed our previously developed 27-plex ancestry-informative single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)panel to infer the ancestral components of bone remains of a possible foreign pilot found in south-western *** ancestry assignment of this unknown individual,we first obtained the 27-SNP genotype of the ***,based on a reference database of 3081 individuals from 33 populations,we calculated the match probability and likelihood ratio using the self-developed software program Forensic *** ancestral components of this individual were calculated by structure at K=3.A complete profile was obtained for the individual using our multiplexed SNP *** European population was within one order of magnitude of the highest *** major ancestral component of this individual was 97.6%European.

Haplotype Frequency Comparison for Case-Parents Data

For case-parents data, the information from offspring can be used to reduce the uncertainty of parents’ haplotype. In this article we develop likelihood ratio test to compare haplotype frequencies in transmitted and non-transmitted group. The maximum likelihood estimate of the haplotype frequencies for the family data is obtained via expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. Our proposed method can handle the uncertainty of haplotypes and missing data. The simulations show that the method is more powerful to test association between haplotype and traits than TRANSMIT. We also demonstrated the method to detect the association between Megsin gene and immunoglobulin A nephropathy.

深度学习技术促使诸多领域研究取得突破性进展,基于深度神经网络的地图综合研究备受期待。将建筑物综合过程抽象解释为编解码过程,系统地研究基于编解码结构的深度神经网络在建筑物综合中的应用。首先,利用空间划分与矢量⁃栅格数据转换相结合的方式构建样本和样本集;然后,利用样本集训练基于编解码结构的深度神经网络,实现建筑物综合学习泛化并测试、评估其效果;最后,搭建5种代表性的基于编解码结构的深度神经网络,分析比较各模型在建筑物综合中的应用效果。实验结果表明,基于编解码结构的深度神经网络能够从建筑物综合样本中学习或推理出部分建筑物综合知识和综合操作,且5种模型中Pix2Pix更适用于建筑物综合的学习模拟。

清洁能源在开发和利用过程中存在间歇性和不稳定性,开发高性能、高效率、环保清洁的新型储能器件可保障稳定的能源输出,实现能源转型.其中,金属基电池(如金属-空气电池,金属-硫电池等)具有低成本,高能量密度的优势,具有较高的应用价值.电池电极材料(催化剂)的合理设计影响着其储能效率,对可再生能源技术的发展具有重要作用.近年来,随着研究人员对电催化反应机理的深入理解,缺陷工程被普遍认为是增加催化活性位点数量,提升电池性能的有效策略.其原因在于缺陷可以提供大量不饱和位点,从而为电化学过程提供更多活性中心,增强电极催化效率,实现电化学动力学的提升.此外,缺陷工程实现了电池电极材料局部原子结构以及配位环境的可控调节,进一步调整电极材料的电子和结构特性,可显著提升电池的电化学动力学.本文系统总结了缺陷工程促进电催化性能的可行性策略和金属基电池电催化剂缺陷工程的最新进展.首先介绍了金属-空气电池和金属-硫电池的反应机理,明确金属基电池的反应机理和反应过程对于开发性能优异、环境适应性强催化剂至关重要.其次,归纳和总结了缺陷的种类(本征缺陷、阴离子空位、阳离子空位、晶格畸变和杂原子掺杂)及其引入的常用方法(如热/化学还原、剥落、化学刻蚀、等离子体技术、球磨等).随后,讨论了用于检测电催化剂中缺陷类型和浓度的相关高端表征手段,揭示了构筑缺陷催化剂是提高电催化剂性能的关键.此外,对电催化电池中缺陷的作用及设计原则进行了总结,讨论了电催化剂中缺陷的作用机理,为未来实现具有高本征活性、长期稳定性和高选择性的电催化剂设计提供了更科学的指导.以典型的金属基电池(锌-空电池、锂氧电池、锂-CO_(2)电池、锂硫电池、钠硫电池等)为例,详细介绍了缺陷工程在提高金属基电池电化学性能中发挥的重要作用及其最新进展.最后,提出了金属基电池目前面临的挑战和发展前景,旨在通过缺陷工程提升催化电极材料活性,促进清洁储能器件的商业化进程.

近年来,大规模病毒传染性疾病的频繁爆发已引起全世界关于气载致病微生物的重点关注,尤其是不同人为源病毒气溶胶的产生及逸散过程。本文通过综述近年来污水处理厂病毒气溶胶的逸散浓度、主要种群及关键逸散点源,重点分析了病毒气溶胶与生物气溶胶逸散之间的相互关系及影响因素,探究了目前污水厂病毒气溶胶研究中存在的关键问题,并对未来研究趋势及方向进行了展望。结果发现,病毒气溶胶中的主要组分为诺如病毒和人腺病毒,其浓度存在较为明显的工艺单元及季节差异。污水污泥、污水厂的处理规模、运行状况及其所处的环境条件均是影响城市污水厂病毒气溶胶逸散的主要因素。同时,通过综述已有研究发现,目前针对城市污水厂病毒气溶胶的产生机制、扩散规律以及潜在风险评估还缺乏深入研究,也缺乏针对污水厂实际应用的有效控制措施,未来应在这些方面加强关注。
