Preparation and Performance of Ternary Early Strength Agent and Quercetin Composite Cement Sealing Material

A ternary early-strengthening agent consisting of calcium formate+triethanolamine+lithium sulfate was compounded with quercetin to shorten the setting time of cementitious materials while ensuring their early *** optimum ratio of the three early-strengthening agents was determined as 0.5%calcium formate+0.04%triethanolamine+0.4%lithium sulfate by response surface *** effects of the ternary early-strengthening agent composed of calcium formate+triethanolamine(TEA)+lithium sulfate on cementitious pore sealing materials under the synergistic effect of quercetin were studied by means of the performance tests of compressive strength,fluidity,and setting time,and the microstructural characterizations of X-ray powder diffractometer(XRD),thermogravimetry(TG-DSC)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The study shows that the synergistic effect of ternary early-strengthening agent and quercetin forms a multi-performance composite admixture for cementitious *** best performance was obtained with the compounding scheme of 0.5%calcium formate+0.04%triethanolamine+0.4%lithium sulfate ternary early-strengthening agent and 0.05%*** compressive strength of 1,3,7,and 28 d are 94.8%,39.8%,42%,and 28%higher than those of the blank group,*** initial time and final setting time are 41 and 57 minutes,*** to the microscopic analysis,the network and fibrous C-S-H gels generated by ternary early-strengthening agents are attached to the surface promoted by quercetin,which forms skeleton support while thickening and solidifying the cement slurry,which enhances the early compressive strength of the cement-based materials.

One-step exfoliation and deprotonation of ANF/BNNS suspension for constructing 3D vertically aligned skeleton in epoxy-based thermal management composites

Two-dimensional(2D)boron nitride nanosheet(BNNS)is promising in polymer-based thermal management materials(TMMs)by pre-constructing three-dimensional(3D)thermally conductive skeleton,but it yet suffers from the challenges of higheffective exfoliation and affinitive compatibility with *** this work,we developed a one-step exfoliation and deprotonation approach by the high-effective ball milling technique to prepare aramid nanofiber(ANF)/BNNS *** the strong collision/shear effect of ball-milling,micron-level h BN sheets were exfoliated into smaller and thinner BNNS with edge functional groups,meanwhile,poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide(PPTA)fibers were split into ANF by dissociating the intermolecular hydrogen *** importantly,both the exfoliation and deprotonation could be accelerated by each other to achieve a 100%yield of ANF/BNNS suspension with strong hydrogen/covalent bonding interactions between ***,the prepared ANF/BNNS suspension was used to construct 3D vertically aligned ANF/BNNS skeleton by the unidirectional freezing *** obtained epoxy-based composite(EP/ANF/BNNS)revealed excellent thermal conductivity of 2.41 W m^(-1)K^(-1) at 14.9 vol%BNNS loading due to the vertically oriented heat conduction paths and low interfacial thermal resistance in the ***,EP/ANF/BNNS composite showed high thermal stability and extraordinary fire retardancy with dramatically decreased heat release rate(265 W g^(-1)) and total heat release(20.6 kJ g^(-1)).Therefore,this work demonstrates a high-efficient one-step ball-milling exfoliation and deprotonation technique for preparing ANF/BNNS suspension,which reveals an enormous potential in preparing advanced TMMs by constructing 3D thermally conductive skeletons.

Oil-soluble ionic liquids as antiwear and extreme pressure additives in poly-α-olefin for steel/steel contacts

To enhance the lubricating and extreme pressure(EP) performance of base oils, two types of oil-soluble ionic liquids(ILs) with similar anion albeit dissimilar cations were synthesized. The physical properties of the prepared ILs were measured. The anticorrosion properties of ILs were assessed by conducting corrosion tests on steel discs and copper strips, which revealed the remarkable anticorrosion properties of the ILs in comparison with those of the commercial additive zinc dialkyldithiophosphate(ZDDP). The tribological properties of the two ILs as additives for poly-α-olefin-10(PAO10) with various mass concentrations were investigated. The tribological test results indicate that these ILs as additives are capable of reducing friction and wear of sliding contacts remarkably as well as enhance the EP performance of blank PAO10. Under similar test conditions, these IL additives exhibit higher lubricating and anti-wear(AW) performances than those of ZDDP based additive package in PAO10. Subsequently, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) were conducted to study the lubricating mechanism of the two ILs. The results indicate that the formation of tribochemical film plays the most crucial role in enhancing the lubricating and AW behavior of the mixture lubricants.

Subnanometric bimetallic Pt-Pd clusters in zeolites for efficient hydrogen production and selective tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes

The solvolysis of ammonia borane(AB)and the hydrogenation of nitroarenes represent significant reactions for hydrogen generation and value-added chemical *** strategic engineering of the catalysts is imperative for surmounting obstacles associated with their stability and catalytic *** this work,subnanometric bimetallic Pt–Pd clusters were encapsulated within silicalite-1(S-1)zeolites through a ligand-protected in-situ hydrothermal synthesis *** synergetic effect of bimetallic composition and zeolite confinement markedly enhances the catalytic performance of representative Pt_(0.5)Pd_(0.5)@S-1-H catalyst,affording exceptional turnover frequency(TOF)values of 1,043 and 573 mol_(H_(2))mol_(metal)^(-1)min^(-1)for AB hydrolysis and methanolysis at ambient conditions,respectively,surpassing most of the state-of-the-art Pt-based *** and isotopic experiments reveal that the bimetallic catalytic system remarkably boosts the O-H cleavage of water,thereby facilitating the H_(2) production from AB ***,a conspicuous synergistic effect is demonstrated in the shape-selective tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes,with the bimetallic catalyst facilitating both AB hydrolysis and nitroarene hydrogenation,giving a high TOF value of 1,260 h^(-1)under atmospheric *** study not only demonstrates the effectiveness of bimetallic nanocatalysts encapsulated in zeolites for hydrogen production from chemical hydrogen storage materials,but also paves the way for the design of catalysts with multifunctional active sites capable of synergistically promoting tandem catalytic processes.

AMPK-mTOR pathway is involved in glucose-modulated amino acid sensing and utilization in the mammary glands of lactating goats

Background:The local supply of energy-yielding nutrients such as glucose seems to affect the synthesis of milk components in the mammary gland(MG).Thus,our study was conducted to investigate the effects of locally available MG glucose supply(LMGS)on amino acid(AA)sensing and utilization in the MG of lactating dairy *** dosages of glucose(0,20,40,60,80,and 100 g/d)were infused into the MG through the external pudendal artery to investigate the dose-dependent changes in mammary AA uptake and utilization(Exp.1)and the changes in mRNA and protein expression of the AMPK-mTOR pathway(Expt.2).Results:In Exp.1,total milk AA concentration was highest when goats were infused with 60 g/d glucose,but lower when goats were infused with 0 and 100 g/d *** LMGS quadratically changed the percentages ofαS2-casein andα-lactalbumin in milk protein,which increased with infusions from 0 to 60 g/d glucose and then decreased with infusions between 60 and 100 g/d *** LMGS changed the AA availability and intramammary gland AA utilization,as reflected by the mammary AA flux *** Exp.2,the mRNA expression of LALBA in the MG increased quadratically with increasing LMGS,with the highest expression at dose of 60 g/d glucose.A high glucose dosage(100 g/d)activated the general control nonderepressible 2 kinase,an intracellular sensor of AA status,resulting in a reduced total milk AA ***:Our new findings suggest that the lactating MG in dairy goats may be affected by LMGS through regulation of the AA sensory pathway,AA utilization and protein synthesis,all being driven by the AMPK-mTOR pathway.

Investigating the mechanical and acoustic emission characteristics of brittle failure around a circular opening under uniaxial loading

The size of underground openings in rock masses in metal mines is critical to the performance of the openings. In this study, the mechanical and acoustic emission (AE) characteristics of brittle rock-like specimens containing a circular opening with different ratios of opening diameter to sample size λ (λ = 0.1, 0.13, 0.17, 0.2, and 0.23) were investigated under uniaxial compression with AE monitoring. The results indicate that the opening size strongly affected the peak strength and the elastic modulus. Crack initiation first started from the upper surface of the specimens, not from the periphery of the openings. Tensile and shear cracks coexisted on the roof and floor of the specimens, whereas tensile cracks were dominant on the two sides. The fracture mode of samples with openings was partially affected by the relative size of the pillars and openings. The AE response curves (in terms of counts, cumulative energy, cumulative counts, and b-value) show that brittle failure was mainly a progressive process. Moreover, the AE information corresponded well with microcrack evolution in the samples and thus can be used to predict sample failure.

Stochastic Augmented-Based Dual-Teaching for Semi-Supervised Medical Image Segmentation

Highly conductive and stable iodine doped argyrodite electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium batteries

Lithium argyrodites with high ionic conductivity and low cost are considered as one of the most prospective solid electrolytes for all-solid-state lithium ***,the poor chemical stability and compatibility with lithium metal limit their ***,Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2solid electrolyte with high ionic conductivity of 11.49 m S cm-1and improved chemical stability is synthesized by iodine *** ultra-thin Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2membrane with thickness of 10μm can be obtained by wet coating process,exhibiting a high ionic conductivity of 2.09 mS cm-1and low areal resistance of 1.17Ω***,iodine doping could in-situ form LiI at the lithium/electrolyte interface and improve the critical current density of Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.6from 0.8 to 1.35 mA *** resultant LiCoO2/Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2/Li battery shows excellent cycling stability at 1 C,with a reversible specific capacity of 110.1 mA h g-1and a retention of 80.5% after 1000 *** addition,the assembled LiCoO2/Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2membrane/Li pouch cell delivers an initial discharge capacity of 110.4 mA h g-1and 80.5% capacity retention after 100 cycles.
