The experimental data concerning the58Ni+48Ca reaction at Elab(Ni)=25A MeV,collected by using the CHIMERA 4π device,have been analyzed in order to investigate the competition among different reaction mechanisms for central collisions in the Fermi energy *** a main criterion for centrality selection we have chosen the flow angle(flow) method,making an event-by-event analysis that considers the shape of events,as it is determined by the eigenvectors of the experimental kinetic-energy *** the selected central events(flow >60°) some global variables,good to characterize the pattern of central collisions have been *** main features of the reaction products were explored by using different constraints on some of the relevant observables,like mass and velocity distributions and their *** emphasis was devoted,for central collisions,to the competition between fusion-evaporation processes with subsequent identification of a heavy residue and a possible multifragmentation mechanism of a well defined(if any) transient nuclear *** evolution of the system and pre-equilibrium emission were taken into account by simulating the reactions in the framework of transport *** approaches have been envisaged(dynamical stochastic BNV calculations + sequential SIMON code,QMD,CoMD,etc.).Preliminary comparison of the experimental data with BNV calculations shows reasonable agreement with the assumption of sequential multifragmentation emission in the mass region of IMFs close to the heavy *** deviations from sequential processes were found for those IMFs in the region of masses intermediate between the mass of heavy residues and the mass of light *** simulations are in *** experimental analysis will be enriched also by information obtained inspecting the IMF-IMF correlation function,in order to elucidated the nature of space-time decay property of the emitting source associated with events having

虚拟露头技术的进步及其在裂缝描述中的应用使得从大面积难以进入的区域获取裂缝数据成为可能。自动或半自动化裂缝资料获取方法的最新进步又大大减少了虚拟露头裂缝人工解释耗时劳力且偏差大的弊端。本文探讨了裂缝自动拾取、人工拾取和现场观测的标准流程，对三种方法的比较突显了其各自的优缺点。自动裂缝拾取的优势在于，其在裂缝方位、大小、空间展布和密度上具有优异的表现；现场观测是对虚拟露头裂缝资料提取的补充，其重点应放在遥感数据质量控制、出露欠佳区域观测、小尺度观察、成岩研究、裂缝发育时间确定、概念模型构建以及裂缝地层与岩石性质的关联等方面。本文提出了综合运用虚拟露头的手工和／或自动裂缝拾取方法以及现场观测方法开展露头类比对象裂缝描述和建模的最佳实践。我们认为，不同方法的综合运用是提高模型质量并降低作业成本和风险的最佳途径。

Cultural heritage assets constitute a fundamental socioeconomic resource,but the actual works of art need to be maintained,counteracting degradation processes,to transfer these benefits to future *** particular,the removal of soil,aged coatings,and vandalism/overpaints is one of the most needed interventions in art *** cleaning methodologies,based on classical solution and polymer chemistry,only grant limited control of the cleaning interventions,with the risk of affecting the original components of the artifacts,and often involving the use of toxic or non-environmentally friendly ***,materials science,colloids,and soft matter have provided valuable and safe solutions in the last *** review provides a selection of the most recent and advanced methodologies for the wet cleaning of works of art,spanning from nanostructured cleaning fluids(microemulsions,surfactants swollen micelles)to physical and chemical *** new methodologies work on different physico-chemical mechanisms,such as processes for detaching/dewetting,to selectively remove the unwanted layers in sustainable and cost-effective *** best performing systems,like microemulsions confined in“twin-chain”polyvinyl alcohol gels,have been assessed in the cleaning of masterpieces such as works by Pablo Picasso,Jackson Pollock and Roy *** attention is dedicated to“green”chemistry systems,using low-toxicity solvents or bio-based/waste materials to build gel ***,current trends and future perspectives are given,showing that advanced systems for art cleaning link with transversal fields of crucial importance even beyond Cultural heritage conservation,e.g.,detergency,tissue engineering,drug-delivery,food industry and cosmetics.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)represents the most common chronic liver disease in Western countries,being considered as the hepatic manifestation of metabolic *** has a common pathogenic background to that of metabolic syndrome,and shares many risk factors such as obesity,hypertension,insulin resistance and *** there is no currently available evidence-based established treatment for NAFLD,all the recommendations from the medical associations indicate that the most effective treatment is to reduce weight through lifestyle ***,indeed,plays a key role in the management of NAFLD patients,as both the quantity and quality of the diet have been reported to have a beneficial role in the onset and severity of the liver *** all the diets that have been proposed,a Mediterranean diet was the most effective dietary option for inducing weight loss together with beneficial effects on all the risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome and *** the last few years,research has demonstrated a beneficial effect of a Mediterranean diet in *** this review,we will examine all the available data on the association between diet,nutrients and the Mediterranean diet in association with onset and severity of NAFLD.

Heterogeneity of endoscopy negative heartburn:Epidemiology and natural history

It has now become clear that only about 40% or less of patients with heartburn and/or regurgitation have esophagitis, and that the majority of them lack visible distal esophageal mucosa breaks. These subjects are referred to as non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (NERD) patients. It has been estimated that in the Western world at least one tenth of the general population has at least weekly heartburn. This proportion seems to be lower in Asia, while prevalence is rapidly increasing. Although it would be extremely useful to have prospective information regarding the fate of such patients, the natural history of NERD is largely unknown, and very few studies in the literature have addressed this issue. These studies are for the greater part old, not well conducted, and suffer from methodological drawbacks including ill-defined entry criteria. However, a review of these studies indicates that a consistent minority of NERD patients may develop erosive disease at an approximate rate of about 10% per year.

Choroidal vascularity index in thyroidassociated ophthalmopathy:a crosssectional study

Background:Hemodynamic changes have been observed in patients with graves’*** aim of our study was to evaluate choroidal vascular change using the choroidal vascularity index(CVI)in patients with thyroidassociated ophthalmopathy(TAO).Methods:In this cross-sectional observational study,40 patients affected by TAO were *** healthy individuals,matched for age and sex,served as *** enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography scans were obtained from all *** were binarized using the ImageJ software and luminal area(LA)and total choroidal area(TCA)were *** was calculated as the proportion of LA to *** relation between CVI or subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT)and clinical activity score,exophthalmometric value,diplopia status,gender,and age was ***:CVI was significantly higher in patients with TAO(P=0.004).No significant difference was observed in SFCT(P=0.200)and TCA(P=0.153)comparing TAO patients and healthy *** was significantly higher in TAO group(P=0.045).On multiple regression analysis,CVI was associated with TCA(P=0.043).No association was found between SFCT or CVI and TCA,clinical activity score,exophthalmometric value,Inami value,diplopia status,gender or age(P>0.05).Conclusions:This is the first study that has demonstrated an increase in CVI in eyes with TAO compared with healthy controls and has assessed its association with clinical features.

Family history of irritable bowel syndrome is the major determinant of persistent abdominal complaints in young adults with a history of pediatric recurrent abdominal pain

AIM： To assess the late outcome of teen-agers with a previous history of recurrent abdominal pain （RAP） or irritable bowel syndrome （IBS）. METHODS： A group of 67 children with RAP referred to the department from January 1986 to December 1995 was followed up between 5 and 13 years after the initial diagnosis by means of a structured telephone interview. We hypothesized that those patients with persistent adult IBS-like symptoms would be significantly more likely to report a family history oflBS in comparison with adults with no persistent abdominal complaint. RESULTS： Out of the 52 trackable subjects, 15 were found to present IBS-like symptoms at follow-up （29%） whereas the majority （37 subjects） did not. Subjects with IBS-like symptoms were almost three times more likely to present at least one sibling with similar symptoms compared to subjects not complaining （40.0% vs 16.0%）, respectively （P 〈 0.05 at Student t test）. Subjects with IBS-like symptoms also reported a higher prevalence of extra-intestinal symptoms, such as back pain, fibromyalgia, headache, fatigue and sleep disturbances. CONCLUSION： The study confirms previous observations indicating that pediatric RAP can predict later development of IBS. The latter appears to be greatly influenced by intrafamilial aggregation of symptoms, possibly through the learning of a specific illness behavior.

Recent advances in cellular and molecular aspects of mammalian retinal ischemia

Retinal ischemia is a common clinical entity and, due to relatively ineffective treatment, remains a common cause of visual impairment and blindness. generally, ischemic syndromes are initially characterized by low homeostatic responses which, with time, induce injury to the tissue due to cell loss by apoptosis. In this re-spect, retinal ischemia is a primary cause of neuronal death. It can be considered as a sort of fnal common pathway in retinal diseases and results in irreversible morphological and functional changes. This review summarizes the recent knowledge on the effects of ischemia in retinal tissue and points out experimental strategies/models performed to gain better compre-hension of retinal ischemia diseases. In particular, the nature of the mechanisms leading to neuronal damage （i.e., excess of glutamate release, oxidative stress and infammation） will be outlined as well as the potential and most intriguing retinoprotective approaches and the possible therapeutic use of naturally occurring molecules such as neuropeptides. There is a general agreement that a better understanding of the funda-mental pathophysiology of retinal ischemia will lead tobetter management and improved clinical outcome. In this respect, to contrast this pathological state, spe-cifc pharmacological strategies need to be developed aimed at the many putative cascades generated during ischemia.

Newborn with giant Non-Involuting Congenital Hemangioma: Mechanisms of Allodynia, Hyperalgesia and Treatment

In a newborn affected by a non involuting congenital hemangioma we measured allodynia through the application of a standard tactile stimulus and hyperalgesia through the regular administration of the Comfort scale which rates pain intensity. The baby presented signs of these pathological events over long periods of the disease. They may be attributed to the high amount of the nociceptive ligands in the hemangioma microenviroment and to the elevated concentration of TNF-alpha and IL-6 in the blood. For a long time, the pain was relieved by a combination of opioids, adjuvants and paracetamol, but also by thalidomide and unexpectedly by interferon alpha. A mechanism-based pain treatment needs to take into account the processes underlying pain and also the ongoing pathology.
