cu-based electrocatalysts have become the focus in the field of electrochemical cO_(2) reduction reaction(EcO_(2) RR)due to their ability to produce multicarbon ***,the research on generating single carbon products with higher economic feasibility via EcO_(2) RR based on cu-based electrocatalysts is rather rare,and the roles of the surface architecture and oxides of the electrocatalysts have not been explained *** this work,a two-step method including thermal oxidation and electroreduction is proposed to introduce cuþinto pure cu foil to form cu_(2)O/cu *** regulating the surface composition and morphology of the electrocatalyst in this way,the activity of EcO 2 RR to c_(1) products has been greatly *** Faradaic efficiency of carbon products of the cu_(2)O/cu electrode reaches 84%at?0.7 V *** with good selectivity for HcOOH and *** current density of cu_(2)O/cu electrode reaches-12.21 mA cm^(2) at-0.8 V ***,which is much higher than that of the cu foil electrode(?0.09 mA cm?2).In-situ Raman characterization shows that cuþin cu_(2)O/cu electrode could inhibit hydrogen generation and promote EcO_(2) RR by stabilizing the adsorption of cO_(2).

Oral granular cell tumor： clinicopathologic features of a case series

Purpose: Oral granular cell tumor (OGcT) is a rare benign lesion originates from Schwann cells。It occurs most frequently in the tongue of patients between the fourth and sixth decades of life。Most papers report single cases, with few series published。The aim of the study was to describe the clinicopathologic features of a series of OGcT。Methods: All cases with diagnosis of OGcT from files of Department of Stomatology, Hospital A。c。camargo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, were selected for the study。clinical data were obtained from the medical records and microscopic slides were reviewed to confirm the diagnosis。Results: There were 18 cases of OGcT, 11 (61%) of the male gender and 7 (39%) of female gender, with a mean age of 41 years (range, 13 to 62)。Sixteen patients (90%) complained of a painless nodule and the mean time of complaints, evaluated in 15 patients, was 11 months (range, 2 to 60 months)。Sixteen cases (90%) occur in the tongue, 1 (5%) in the buccal mucosa and 1 (5%) in lower gingiva。The mean size of the tumors was 0.9 cm (range, 0.3 to 2.0 cm)。All cases were treated by surgical excision, without recurrence of the lesion。Microscopically, the lesions presented large cells, with granular, eosinophilic, pale and abundant cytoplasm。The epithelium that recovered the lesion showed frequently pseudo-epitheliomatous hyperplasia。conclusion: The OGcT affects predominantly the tongue of male patients and presents excellent prognosis。Microscopically, the lesions must be carefully examined in order to avoid equivocal diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma, since that pseudo-epitheliomatous hyperplasia is a common finding。

We herein report a high-resolution nanopatterning method using low voltage electromechanical spinning with a rotating collector to obtain aligned graphitized micro and nanowires for carbon nanomanufacturing.A small wire diameter and a small inter-wire spacing were obtained by controlling the electric field,the spinneret-to-collector distance,the pyrolysis parameters,the linear speed of the spinneret,the rotational speed of the *** a simple scaling analysis,we show how the straightness and the diameter of the wires can be controlled by the electric field and the distance of the spinneret to the collector.A small inter-wire spacing,as predicted by a simple model,was achieved by simultaneously controlling the linear speed of the spinneret and the rotational speed of the *** drying of the polymer nanowires enabled the facile fabrication of suspended wires over various *** polyacrylonitrile wires were carbonized using standard stabilization and pyrolysis to obtain carbon *** carbon nanowires with a diameter ofctures by using the aforementioned carbon wire structures as a template for chemical vapor deposition of *** patterning technique offers high throughput for nano writing,which outperforms other existing nanopatterning techniques,making it a potential candidate for large-scale carbon nanomanufacturing.

Economic Performance Optimization of a PV-BESS Power Generator: A case Study La Reunion Island

This paper proposes an economic performance optimization strategy for a PV plant coupled with a battery energy storage system. The case study of La Reunion Island, a non-interconnected zone (NIZ) with a high level of renewable energy sources (RES), is considered. This last decade, to reach the ambitious target of electricity autonomy by 2030 set by the local authorities, local and national plans have been launched to promote renewable energy sources integration that led to a noticeable development of photovoltaic (PV) systems. To avoid a decrease of the grid reliability due to a large integration of intermittent energy sources into a non-interconnected grid, the authorities have introduced new regulatory rules for RES producers. The proposed optimization strategy relies on these new regulatory rules and takes into account the energy market data, the amount of PV production subject to penalties for imbalance, the batteries and the PV technological characteristics together with a PV production forecast model. Due to its high convergence rate to the true global minimum and its perfect suitability to practical engineering optimization problems, the recently developed Modified cuckoo Search algorithm is used as optimization algorithm. The effectiveness and relevance of the proposed strategy are assessed on experimental data collected on a real PV power plant. An economical analysis demonstrates that the proposed optimization strategy is able to fulfill the new regulatory rules requirements while increasing the economic performance of the system.

Back pain is a common condition with a high social impact and represents a global health *** disc disease(IVDD)is one of the major causes of back pain;no therapeutics are currently available to reverse this *** impact of bone mineral density(BMD)on IVDD has been controversial,with some studies suggesting osteoporosis as causative for IVDD and others suggesting it as protective for *** studies to evaluate the influence of genetic components of BMD in IVDD could highlight opportunities for drug development and *** taking a holistic 3D approach,we established an aging zebrafish model for spontaneous *** BMD in aging,detected by automated computational analysis,is caused by bone deformities at the ***,aged zebrafish spines showed changes in bone morphology,microstructure,mineral heterogeneity,and increased fragility that resembled *** of the discs recapitulated IVDD symptoms found in humans:the intervertebral ligament(equivalent to the annulus fibrosus)showed disorganized collagen fibers and herniation,while the disc center(nucleus pulposus equivalent)showed dehydration and cellular *** manipulated BMD in young zebrafish by mutating sp7 and cathepsin K,leading to low and high BMD,***,we detected IVDD in both groups,demonstrating that low BMD does not protect against IVDD,and we found a strong correlation between high BMD and *** learning was applied to high-resolution synchrotron\icJ image data to analyze osteocyte 3D lacunar distribution and morphology,revealing a role of sp7 in controlling the osteocyte lacunar 3D *** findings suggest potential avenues through which bone quality can be targeted to identify beneficial therapeutics for IVDD.

There are very few studies on the application of fertilizers through irrigation water(fertirrigation) using a multi-gate irrigation system in sugarcane AES. Through fertirrigation, the application of fertilizers can be simplified, and their distribution uniformity in sugarcane fields improved. This paper provides an overview of the state of the art regarding fertirrigation with multi-gate irrigation in sugarcane agroecosystems(AES). In order to systematize, organize, and discuss the scientific data on fertirrigation with low-pressure multi-gate irrigation systems in sugarcane AES, bibliographic material from the following full-text scientific journal databases was screened: the Elsevier Science Direct Freedom collection, Springer Link, and the International Society for Horticultural Science. Next,a matrix of keywords was used to analyze the interrelationships among the available literature, current issues, and the recent *** conclude that development of fertirrigation technologies with low-pressure multi-gate irrigation is much needed.

Non-islet cell tumor hypoglycemia as an initial presentation of hepatocellular carcinoma coupled with end-stage liver cirrhosis: A case report and review of literature

BAcKGROUND Non-islet cell tumor hypoglycemia(NIcTH)is a rare cause of persistent hypoglycemia seen in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc).It is likely to be underdiagnosed especially in the patients with poor hepatic function and ***,we report a rare case of NIcTH as the initial presentation of Hcc in a patient with chronic hypoglycemia due to end-stage liver *** SUMMARY A 62-year-old male with chronic fasting hypoglycemia secondary to end-stage hepatitis c-related cirrhosis,presented with altered mental status and *** was found to have severe hypoglycemia refractory to glucose *** studies and biopsy discovered well differentiated Hcc without *** evaluation showed low insulin,c-peptide and betahydroxybutyrate along with a high insulin-like growth factor-2/insulin-like growth factor ratio,consistent with the diagnosis of *** patient was not a candidate for surgical resection or chemotherapy,he was started on prednisolone with some improvements in the glucose homeostasis,but soon decompensated after a superimposed hospital acquired *** NIcTH can occur as the sole initial presentation of Hcc and is often difficult to correct without tumor *** should maintain high clinical suspicion for early recognition of paraneoplastic NIcTH in patients at risk for Hcc,even those with chronic fasting hypoglycemia in the setting of severe hepatic failure and malnutrition.

Optimization of High-Performance Liquid chromatography Parameters for Purification of Oligonucleotide-A

The modification of high-performance liquid chromatography parameters leads to a more effective oligonucleotide-A purification process. Using various experimental parameters such as buffer, concentration, and pH, a method for optimizing the purification of an oligonucleotide-A on a reverse-phase c18 column was created. To purify oligonucleotide-A, High-Performance Liquid chromatography (HPLc), Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometry (UV-Vis), Liquid chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (Lc-MS), and lyophilization were used. chromatographic data were collected with a semi-prep HPLc system, quantified with the UV-Vis technique, and validated with the Lc-MS method. The most optimized parameters found to obtain the purity of 93.0% are 40 mM triethylammonium bicarbonate (TEAB) buffer with pH 7, which is approximately 6.0% higher than the reported method of which the purity is 87.0%. However, the yield under these conditions was reduced by about 5%. The worst possible optimized settings that resulted in the lowest purity (84.0%) and yield (69.0%) are 10 mM ammonium acetate (NH4cH3cO2) with pH 7.

Effect of copper, sulfur, arsenic and antimony on silver distribution in phases of lead blast furnace

An experimental study was carried out to estimate the effect of the lead impurities on the silver distribution in the phases formed in the lead blast furnace. Samples of sinter with different contents of cu, S, As and Sb were equilibrated under reducing atmosphere （p（cO）/p（cO2）=2.45） at 1573 K in a tube furnace and slowly cooled. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and microanalysis （SEM-EDS）. There were five immiscible phases：slag （caO, FeO and SiO2）, matte （S, cu and Fe）, speiss （As, Fe and cu）, cu-Sb phase and lead bullion （Pb, Ag, Sb, cu, etc）. The results showed that cu and Sb promote silver losses during the process since they form a liquid solution with higher silver solubility than liquid bullion. Sulfur and arsenic react with copper to form the matte and speiss phases, respectively. The effect of S and As is to reduce the amount of cu-Sb alloy and then the silver losses from the bullion.
