Supplementation with dimethylglycine sodium salt improves lipid metabolism disorder in intrauterine growth-retarded pigs

This study aims to elucidate the mechanism of lipid metabolism disorder in intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR)pigs and the potential alleviating effects of dimethylglycine sodium salt(DMG-Na).A total of 60 male newborn piglets were selected for this *** each litter,one normal birth weight(NBW)male piglet(1.53±0.04 kg)and two IUGR male piglets(0.76±0.06 kg)were chosen based on their birth *** piglets were divided into three groups for the study:NBW pigs received a PBS gavage and a common basal diet(NBW-c group),IUGR pigs received the same PBS gavage and common basal diet(IUGR-c group),and IUGR pigs received a 70-mg DMG-Na gavage along with a common basal diet supplemented with 0.1%DMG-Na(IUGR-D group).At 150 d of age,all piglets underwent euthanasia by exsanguination following electrical stunning,after which plasma,liver,and longissimus dorsi(LM)samples were promptly *** IUGR-D group demonstrated improvements in plasma parameters(Pyceride and free fatty acid(FFA)values,and hormone levels(Pce *** of lipid metabolism was observed(Pyceride and FFA,and higher hepatic lipase and total lipase values in the liver,and lower triglyceride and FFA values in the *** ETc complexes showed increased levels(Pcluding higher complex III values in the liver,and higher complex I,complex III,and complex V values in the *** levels of energy metabolites were noted(Py parameters showed improvement(Pchondrial function-related genes and proteins were upregulated(Pcompared to the IUGR-c *** conclusio

Electrocatalytic cO_(2)reduction reaction(cO_(2)RR)in acidic media is a promising approach to overcome the unavoidable formation of carbonates in alkaline or neutral ***,the proton-rich environment near the catalyst surface favors hydrogen evolution reactions(HER),leading to lower energy efficiency of the desired products,especially in industrial-level current ***,quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant(cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(cTAB))was introduced into acidic electrolyte to modulate the interfacial microenvironment,which greatly enhanced cO_(2)electroreduction to formic acid(HcOOH)at the Bi/c nanoparticles *** a Bi/c nanoparticles electrode with cTAB added,constant production of formic acid was enabled with a cathodic energy efficiency of>40%and maximum FE_(HcOOH)(FE=Faradaic efficiency)of 86.2%at−400 mA·cm^(−2)over 24 *** with in-situ attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,the concentration of*OcHO intermediates significantly increased after cTAB modification,confirming that the hydrophobic interface microenvironment formed by dynamic adsorption of positively charged long alkyl chains on Bi/c nanoparticle electrodes inhibited HER and improved the selectivity of cO_(2)RR to HcOOH.

We treat two identical and mutually independent two-level atoms that are coupled to a quantum field as an open quantum *** master equation that governs their evolution is derived by tracing over the degree of freedom of the *** this,we compare the entanglement dynamics of the two atoms moving with different trajectories inκ-deformed and Minkowski ***,when the environment-induced interatomic interaction does not exist,the entanglement dynamics of two static atoms inκ-deformed spacetime are reduced to that in Minkowski spacetime in the case that the spacetime deformation parameterκis sufficiently large as theoretically ***,if the atoms undergo relativistic motion,regardless of whether inertial or non-inertial,their entanglement dynamics inκ-deformed spacetime behave differently from that in Minkowski spacetime even whenκis *** investigate various types of entanglement behavior,such as decay and generation,and discuss how different relativistic motions,such as uniform motion in a straight line and circular motion,amplify the differences in the entanglement dynamics between theκ-deformed and Minkowski spacetime *** addition,when the environment-induced interatomic interaction is considered,we find that it may also enhance the differences in the entanglement dynamics between these two ***,in principle,one can tell whether she/he is inκ-deformed or Minkowski spacetime by checking the entanglement behavior between two atoms in certain circumstances.

co-pyrolysis of Sewage Sludge with Paint Sludge: Kinetics and Thermodynamic Analysis via Iso-conversional Methods

This study explored the synergistic interaction of sewage sludge(SS)and automotive paint sludge(PS)during co-pyrolysis for the optimized treatment of sewage sludge in cement kiln systems,utilizing thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and thermogravimetric-mass spectrometry(TGA-MS).The result reveals the coexisting synergistic and antagonistic effects in the co-pyrolysis of SS/*** synergistic effect arises from hydrogen free radicals in SS and catalytic components in PS,while the main source of the antagonistic effect is that,during the mechanical mixing process,the SS/PS is converted from the particulate form into a dough-like rubbery which contributes to the film-forming effect,hindering the volatilization of volatile ***/PS co-pyrolysis reduces the yielding of tar production while increasing coke and *** study will provide some in-depth insights into the co-pyrolysis of SS/PS,and offer theoretical support for the subsequent research on the collaborative disposal processes in cement kilns.

Microseismic observations reveal that internal waves intensify seabed methane release

Internal waves transport material and energy from the upper water column to the deep ocean, disturbing seabed sediments and resulting in phenomena such as seabed erosion and changes in topography. On the northern slope of the South china Sea and in many coastal margins worldwide, the zones with internal wave action closely overlap with areas where natural gas hydrates are present. However, due to significant differences in the spatial and temporal scales, understanding the influence of internal waves on methane releases from deep seabeds is challenging. In this study, in situ observations of seabed microseismicity and internal waves are conducted at water depths of 655 meters and 1450 meters in the Pearl River canyon of the South china Sea. The microseismicity caused by internal waves and seabed methane releases is identified, and a method to establish the correlation between internal waves and seabed methane releases through the use of microseismic recordings is proposed, aiming to obtain direct observational evidence of internal waves intensifying seabed methane releases. The results show that internal waves and seabed methane releases generate significant microseismic signals, indicating the continuous influence of internal waves on the deep seabed of the northern slope of the South china Sea and revealing active methane release phenomena on the seabed. At both long and short time scales, internal waves increase the frequency of seabed methane releases by 4.2 times and 2.4 times, respectively, while also enhancing the intensity of these releases. These changes are influenced by the alterations in seabed flow velocity, pressure, and temperature that are induced by internal wave activities. This study emphasizes that microseismic signals are effective carriers of information for multiscale geological processes on seabeds and suggests that internal waves exacerbate marine geological hazards and contribute to global climate change by intensifying seabed methane relea

A toroidal SAW gyroscope with focused IDTs for sensitivity enhancement

A surface acoustic wave(SAW)gyroscope measures the rate of rotational angular velocity by exploiting a phenomenon known as the SAW gyroscope *** a gyroscope is a great candidate for application in harsh environments because of the simplification of the suspension vibration mechanism necessary for traditional microelectromechanical system(MEMS)***,for the first time,we propose a novel toroidal standing-wave-mode SAW gyroscope using focused interdigitated transducers(FIDTs).Unlike traditional SAW gyroscopes that use linear IDTs to generate surface acoustic waves,which cause beam deflection and result in energy dissipation,this study uses FIDTs to concentrate the SAW energy based on structural features,resulting in better focusing performance and increased SAW *** experimental results reveal that the sensitivity of the structure is 1.51µV/(°/s),and the bias instability is 0.77°/s,which are improved by an order of magnitude compared to those of a traditional SAW ***,the FIDT component can enhance the performance of the SAW gyroscope,demonstrating its superiority for angular velocity *** work provides new insights into improving the sensitivity and performance of SAW gyroscopes.

High-efficiently doping nitrogen in kapok fiber-derived hard carbon used as anode materials for boosting rate performance of sodium-ion batteries

The engineering of plant-based precursor for nitrogen doping has become one of the most promising strategies to enhance rate capability of hard carbon materials for sodium-ion batteries;however,the poor rate performance is mainly caused by lack of pyridine nitrogen,which often tends to escape because of high temperature in preparation process of hard *** this paper,a high-rate kapok fiber-derived hard carbon is fabricated by cross-linking carboxyl group in 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid with the exposed hydroxyl group on alkalized kapok with assistance of zinc ***,a high nitrogen doping content of 4.24%is achieved,most of which are pyridine nitrogen;this is crucial for improving the defect sites and electronic conductivity of hard *** optimized carbon with feature of high nitrogen content,abundant functional groups,degree of disorder,and large layer spacing exhibits high capacity of 401.7 mAh g^(−1)at a current density of 0.05 A g^(−1),and more importantly,good rate performance,for example,even at the current density of 2 A g^(−1),a specific capacity of 159.5 mAh g^(−1)can be *** findings make plant-based hard carbon a promising candidate for commercial application of sodium-ion batteries,achieving high-rate performance with the enhanced pre-cross-linking interaction between plant precursors and dopants to optimize aromatization process by auxiliary pyrolysis.
