In the present work,tilted global solar irradiance data are presented and analysed,measured for a period of 1 year on the campus of Bahrain Polytechnic,kingdom of Bahrain,from both a fixed photovoltaic panel and a moving one via a two-axis solar *** fixed panel faces south with an angle of 26°with respect to the horizontal,coinciding with the local geographical *** second panel is moved by two motors,controlled by a global positioning system and suitable software so that the Sun’s rays are perpendicular to the panel surface.A pyranometer is installed on each panel,recording the tilted global solar irradiance,stored by using a data *** analysis of the data obtained shows a 33%solar energy gain on an annual basis for the moving panel(2780 versus 2088 kwh/m^(2) on the fixed panel).More importantly,in June,when the energy demand in Bahrain is elevated due to the increased residential cooling loads,the solar energy received by the moving panel is 54.7%higher compared with that of the fixed *** a percentage basis,the increase in solar energy from the moving panel is profound in the early morning and late evening ***,the reduction in the solar energy received by the fixed panel from May to June does not appear in the moving panel because of the adjustable orientation of the *** the year,the mean daily solar power varies between 0.37 and 0.56 kw/m^(2) for the fixed panel,and 0.45 and 0.70 kw/m^(2) for the moving *** w.n.er,solar energy fluctuations are elevated due to erratic weather conditions that present a peak standard deviation of 28%of the corresponding *** data presented are useful for potential solar investments in Gulf countries.

A generalized large-signal computer simulation program for a Gunn oscillator has been developed. The properties of a Gunn diode oscillator based on the widely explored Gan, are investigated using the developed program. The results show some interesting properties in Gan Gunn diodes which are not seen in GaAs and InP diodes. An output power of 1400 kw/cm^2 is achieved from the Gan Gunn diode, as compared to 4.9 kw/cm^2 from a GaAs diode.

In recent years,graphene field-effect-transistors(GFETs)have demonstrated an outstanding potential for terahertz(THz)photodetection due to their fast response and *** features are essential to enable emerging THz applications,including 6G wireless communications,quantum information,bioimaging and ***,the overall performance of these photodetectors may be utterly compromised by the impact of internal resistances presented in the device,so-called access or parasitic *** this work,we provide a detailed study of the influence of internal device resistances in the photoresponse of high-mobility dual-gate GFET *** dual-gate architectures allow us to fine tune(decrease)the internal resistance of the device by an order of magnitude and consequently demonstrate an improved responsivity and noise-equivalent-power values of the photodetector,*** results can be well understood by a series resistance model,as shown by the excellent agreement found between the experimental data and theoretical *** findings are therefore relevant to understand and improve the overall performance of existing high-mobility graphene photodetectors.

Magnetic characterization of Amphibolites from the Fomopéa Pluton(west cameroon):Their Implication in the Pan-African Deformation of the central African Fold Belt

The Fomopea granitic pluton is emplaced in gnessic and amphibolitic basement. These gneissic and amphibolitic basement rocks are represented in the pluton＇s body as sub-rounded, elongated or stretched xenoliths. Amphibolitic xenoliths display testimonies of two main tectonic events namely：（i） El flattening deformation event characterized by a nw-SE to E-w foliation with a best pole at 246/57 and a mineral stretched lineation with a best line at 293/47; and （ii） E2 compressive event typified by （1） n-S to nnE-SSw steeply dipping foliation; （2） S-type flexion-fold indicating a sinistral shear movement. These amphibolite rocks indicate a magnetic susceptibility magnitude （km） range from 418 ~SI to 90092 IISI for 87% of the stations show.n. a ferromagnetic behavior. k-T curves reveal the presence of Ti-poor magnetite as susceptibility mineral carrier. Magnetic foliation and lineation suggest that the n-S strike direction observed in the Bamendou amphibolite is, as pointed out elsewhere in the central African Fold Belt, of paramount importance in the tectonic evaluation of the Fomopea area, since it has most likely acted as major deformation phase in the second tectonic event in the belt.

Here we demonstrate the fabrication, electrochemical performance and application of an asymmetric supercapacitor (AS) device constructed with ss-ni(OH)(2)/Mw.n.s as positive electrode and kOH activated honeycomb-like porous carbon (k-Pc) derived from banana fibers as negative electrode. Initially, the electrochemical performance of hydrothermally synthesized ss-ni(OH)(2)/Mw.n.s nanocomposite and k-Pc was studied in a three-electrode system using 1 M kOH. These materials exhibited a specific capacitance (cs) of 1327 Fig and 324 F/g respectively at a scan rate of 10 mV/s. Further, the AS device i.e., ss-ni(OH)(2)/Mw.n.s// k-Pc in 1 M kOH solution, demonstrated a cs of 156 F/g at scan rate of 10 mV/s in a broad cell voltage of 0-2.2 V. The device demonstrated a good rate capability by maintaining a cs of 59 F/g even at high current density (25 A/g). The device also offered high energy density of 63 wh/kg with maximum power density of 5.2 kw/kg. The AS device exhibited excellent cycle life with 100% capacitance retention at 5000th cycle at a high current density of 25 A/g. Two AS devices connected in series were employed for powering a pair of LEDs of different colors and also a mini fan. The thermal imaging technique relies on the usage of infrared signal to detect the temperature *** temperature as a flow tracer,thermography is used to investigate the scalar transport in the shallow-water wake generated by an emergent circular *** imaging is demonstrated to be a good quantitative flow visualization technique for studying turbulent mixing phenomena in shallow waters.A key advantage of the thermal imaging method over other scalar measurement techniques,such as the Laser Induced Fluorescence（LIF）and Planar concentration Analysis（PcA）methods,is that it involves a very simple experimental *** dispersion characteristics captured with this technique are found to be similar to past studies with traditional measurement techniques.

The present research work has been carried out on biomass based on 10 kw capacity gasifier power generation system installed at college of Agricultural Engineering and Technology,*** Deshmukh Agricultural university(***),Akola Maharashtra,*** main objectives were to evaluate various costs and benefits involved in the power generation *** costs of energy per unit were calculated for the first year of *** economics of gasifier based power generation system and thereby the feasibility of the system was examined by estimating per unit cost,net Present Value(nPV),Benefit cost Ratio(BcR),Internal Rate of Return(IRR)and payback *** discount cash flow method was used to find out the *** the present analysis,three costs viz.,installed capital cost,operation and maintenance cost,and levelised replacement cost were examined for the evaluation of the power generation per *** rate on investment in case of subsidy(case I)and in case without subsidy(case II)for installation cost of system was considered as 12.75%.The BcR comes in case I for operating duration of 22 h,20 h,and 16 h are 1.24,1.18,and 1.13,*** for case II BcR comes 1.44,1.38,and *** IRR comes in case I for operating duration of 22 h,20 h,and 16 h are 26%,22%,and 19%,*** for case II,IRR comes 52%,44%,and 39%for operating duration of 22 h,20 h,and 16 h,*** payback period in the present analysis was worked *** payback period for biomass based gasifier power generation system was observed to be for case I from three to four years and for case II it was one to two years.

Optimal design and development of PV-w.n.-battery based nano-grid system: a field-on-laboratory demonstration

The present paper has disseminated the design approach, project implementation, and economics of a nano-grid system. The deployment of the system is envisioned to acculturate the renewable technology into Indian society by field-on-laboratory demonstration (FOLD) and ''bridge the gaps between research, develop-ment, and *** system consists of a solar photovoltaic (PV)(2.4 kwp), a w.n. turbine (3.2 kwp), and a battery bank (400 Ah). Initially, a prefeasibility study is conducted using the well-established HOMER (hybrid optimization model for electric renewable) software developed by the national Renewable Energy Laboratory (nREL), USA. The feasibility study indicates that the optimal capacity for the nano-grid system consists of a 2.16 kwp solar PV, a 3 kwp w.n. turbine, a 1.44 kw inverter, and a 24 kwh battery bank. The total net present cost (TnPc) and cost of energy (cOE) of the system are US$20789.85 and US$0.673/kwh,respectively. However, the hybrid system consisting of a 2.4 kwp of solar PV,a 3.2 kwp of w.n. turbine, a 3 kVA of inverter, and a 400 Ah of battery bank has been installed due to unavailability of system components of desired values and to enhance the reliability of the *** TnPc and cOE of the system installed are found to be US$20073.63 and US$0,635/kwh, respectively and both costs are largely influenced by battery cost. Besides, this paper has illustrated the installation details of each component as well as of the system. Moreover, it has discussed the detailed cost breakup of the system. Furthermore, the performance of the system has been investigated and validated with the simulation results. It is observed that the power generated from the PV system is quite significant and is almost uniform over the year. contrary to this, a trivial w.n. velocity prevails over the year apart from the month of April,May,and June,so does the power yield. This research demonstration provides a pathway for future planning of scaled-up hybrid
