Hearing loss is the third leading cause of human ***-related hearing loss,one type of acquired sensorineural hearing loss,is largely responsible for this escalating global health ***-induced,ototoxic,and idiopathic sudden sensorineural are other less common types of acquired hearing *** etiology of these conditions is complex and multi-fa ctorial involving an interplay of genetic and environmental *** stress has recently been proposed as a likely linking cause in most types of acquired sensorineural hearing *** non-coding RNA sequences known as microRNAs(miRNAs)have increasingly been shown to play a role in cellular hypoxia and oxidative stress responses including promoting an apoptotic *** hair cell death is a central histopathological finding in sensorineural hearing *** these cells do not regenerate in humans,it underlies the irreversibility of human age-related hearing *** EMBASE,Ovid MEDLINE,Web of Science core collection,and *** databases over the period August 1,2018 to July 31,2023 were searched with"hearing loss,""hypoxamiRs,""hypoxia,""microRNAs,""ischemia,"and"oxidative stress"text words for english language primary study publications or registered clinical *** red clinical trials known to the senior author we re also assessed.A total of 222studies were thus *** excluding duplicates,editorials,retra ctions,secondary research studies,and non-english language articles,39 primary studies and clinical trials underwent full-text *** resulted in 11 animal,in vitro,and/or human subject journal articles and 8 registered clinical trial database entries which form the basis of this narrative *** miR-34a and miR-29b levels increase with age in *** miRNAs were demonstrated in human neuroblastoma and murine cochlear cell lines to target Sirtuin 1/peroxisome proliferato r-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1-alpha(SIRT1/P Gc-1α),SIRT

Two novel phosphors LiBa_(4(1-x))Eu_(4x)Ta_(3)O_(12)(H-LBTO:xEu^(3+)) and Li_(0.25)Ba_(1-x)Eu_(x)Ta_(0.75)O_(3)(c-LBTO:xEu^(3+))were prepared successfully by a molten salt *** transformation between these two structures was realized by changing the sintering temperature or changing the Eu^(3+) ions concentration,which was also demonstrated by the X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS),and photoluminescence excitation(PLE) analyses,Both the sintering temperature and the Eu^(3+)ions doping concentration have significant impact on the formation of the crystal *** these phosphors sintered at 1023 K exhibit two major luminescence lines at 594 and 614 nm under nearuV light of 395 nm excitation,corresponding to Eu^(3+)ions typical transitions of ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1) and ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2).The optimum concentration of Eu^(3+) ions is 9 mol% for c-LBTO:xEu^(3+) samples and the quenching interaction type is the nearest-neighbor ion *** thermal stability of the c-LBTO:0.09Eu^(3+)sample was investigated in detail and the device application further suggests that c-LBTO:0.09Eu^(3+) can be used as a red phosphor for near-UV excited w-LEDs in lighting.

High-risk factors for delirium in severely ill patients and the application of emotional nursing combined with pain nursing

BAcKGROunD Delirium is a neuropsychiatric syndrome characterized by acute disturbances of consciousness with rapid onset,rapid progression,obvious fluctuations,and preventable,reversible,and other *** with delirium in the intensive care unit(IcU)are often missed or misdiagnosed and do not receive adequate *** To analyze the risk factors for delirium in IcU patients and explore the applica-tion of emotional nursing with pain nursing in the management of *** General data of 301 critically ill patients were retrospectively collected,including histories(cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,hypertension,smoking,alcoholism,and diabetes),age,sex,diagnosis,whether surgery was performed,and patient origin(emergency/clinic).Additionally,the duration of sedation,Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale score,combined emotional and pain care,ven-tilator use duration,vasoactive drug use,drainage tube retention,IcU stay du-ration,c-reactive protein,procalcitonin,white blood cell c.unt,body tempe-rature,Acute Physiology and chronic Health Evaluation II(APAcHE II)score,and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score were recorded within 24 h after IcU *** were assessed for delirium according to confusion assessment method for the IcU,and univariate and multivariate logistic regre-ssion analyses were performed to identify the risk factors for delirium in the *** univariate logistic regression analysis was performed on the 24 potential risk factors associated with delirium in IcU *** results showed that 16 risk factors were closely related to delirium,including combined emotional and pain care,history of diabetes,and patient *** logistic regression analysis revealed that no combined emotional and pain care,history of diabetes,emergency source,surgery,long stay in the IcU,smoking history,and high APAcHE II score were independent risk factors for de-lirium in IcU *** Patients

Locoregionally advanced laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers(LA-LHcs)are traditionally treated with surgery followed by postoperative radiotherapy,which impairs speech and swallowing functions and reduces the quality of life.^(1,2)The use of induction chemotherapy(Ic)as a larynxpreserving approach for LA-LHcs has been verified and refined.^(3)However,the short-term tumor response to Ic varies,non-responders usually show poor survival and little benefit.

In order to further promote the application of Sic refractories in modern steel metallurgy,the occurrence forms and formation mechanism of impurities in Sic crystals smelted by Acheson process were *** techniques of inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry,X-ray diffraction,and scanning electron microscopy were combined to examine the types and occurrence forms of impurities in smelted Sic *** results showed that the main impurities in the Sic are free Si,free c,oxides(caO·Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),caO·SiO_(2) and SiO_(2))and alloy phases(Fe_(x)Si_(y),Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) and Fe_(x)Al_(y)Si_(z)).The formation process of impurities during the smelting of Sic can be described as follows:At high temperature,the SiO_(2) and Fe,Ti related oxide impurities present in the raw materials are reduced to Si,Fe,and Ti metal *** the reduction process,the free Si,Fe_(x)Si_(y) and Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) are precipitated from the melt during *** Si primarily exists in aggregated form within the Sic crystal,while the alloy phase is predominantly found at the interface between Sic and free Si,with Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) embedded within *** the end of the cooling process,other impurity oxides such as Al_(2)O_(3),caO,and some unreduced SiO_(2) solidify to form calcium-aluminum-silicate glass phases,predominantly located between Sic *** remaining c from the reaction is mainly dispersed as free c within the Sic crystal and at the interface between Sic and free Si.

Analyses of stable isotopes(c,O,H)in tree rings are increasingly important cross-disciplinary *** rapid development in this field documented in an increasing number of publications requires a comprehensive *** study includes a bibliometric analysis-based review to better understand research trends in tree ring stable isotope ***,1475 publications were selected from the Web of Science core collection for *** findings are that:(1)numbers of annual publications and citations increased since *** 1974 to 1980,there were around two relevant publications per ***,from 2020 to 2022,this rose sharply to 109 publications per ***,average article citations were less than four per year before 1990,but were around four per article per year after 2000;(2)the major subjects using tree ring stable isotopes include forestry,geosciences,and environmental sciences,contributing to 42.5%of the total during 1974-2023;(3)the top three most productive institutions are the chinese Academy of Sciences(423),the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest,Snow and Landscape Research(227),and the university of Arizona(204).These achievements result from strong collaborations;(4)review papers,for example,(Dawson et al.,Annu Rev Ecol Syst 33:507-559,2002)and(Mccarroll and Loader,Quat Sci Rev 23:771-801,2004),are among the most cited,with more than 1000 citations;(5)tree ring stable isotope studies mainly focus on climatology and ecology,with atmospheric cO_(2) one of the most popular *** 2010,precipitation and drought have received increasing *** on this analysis,the research stages,key findings,debated issues,limitations and direc-tions for future research are *** study serves as an important attempt to understand the progress on the use of stable isotopes in tree rings,providing scientific guid-ance for young researchers in this field.

Spinel Mnco_(2)O_(4) is a promising energy storage candidate as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries owing to synergistic effects of two intrinsic solid-state redox ***,low conductivity,poor rate capacity and rapid capacity fading have seriously impaired its practical *** overcome the inferiorities,urchin-like Mnco_(2)O_(4)@c core–shell nanowire arrays have been fabricated directly within a porous copper current collector via a facile hydrothermal method followed by a chemical vapor deposition carbonization *** a typical nanowire,the core is composed of interconnected Mnco_(2)O_(4)nanoparticles and the shell shows as a thin amorphous carbon *** integrated Mnco_(2)O_(4)@c/cu structure could act as working anodes without using additives or polymer *** Mnco_(2)O_(4)@c/cu possesses slightly longer Li-ion insertion/desertion pathway than that of Mnco_(2)O_(4)/cu,the carbon shell could effectively prevent the pulverization of Mnco_(2)O_(4) and lower down charge transfer resistance and actively participate in Li-ion *** rearrangement of carbon atoms during lithiation/delithiation cycling could inhibit the formation of passive solid electrolyte interphase *** a result,the Mnco_(2)O_(4)@c/cu electrode presents superior rate capacity(600 mAh·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1)) and better stability(797 mAh·g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 100 mA·g^(−1)).The excellent reversible Li ion storage capacity,cycling stability and rate capacity endow Mnco_(2)O_(4)@c/cu great potential as stable and high output integrated anode materials in Li-ion batteries.

Interfacial charge redistribution to promote the catalytic activity of Vs-coP-coS_(2)/c n-n heterojunction for oxygen evolution

Modulating surface charge redistribution based on interface and defect engineering has been considered as a resultful means to boost electrocatalytic ***,the mechanism of synergistic regulation of heterojunction and vacancy defects remains ***,a Vs-coP-coS_(2)/c n-n heterojunction with sulfur vacancies is successfully constructed,which manifests superior electrocatalytic activity for oxygen evolution,as demonstrated by a low overpotential of 170 mV to reach 10 mA/cm^(2).The experimental results and density functional theory calculations testify that the outstanding OER performance of Vs-coP-coS_(2)/c heterojunction is owed to the synergistic effect of sulfur vacancies and built-in electric field at n-n heterogeneous interface,which accelerates the electron transfer,induces the charge redistribution,and regulates the adsorption energy of active intermediates during the *** study affords a promising means to regulate the electrocatalytic performance by the construction of heterogeneous interfaces and defects,and in-depth explores the synergistic mechanisms of n-n heterojunction and vacancies.

BAcKGROunD The intricate relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and diabetic nephropathy(DN)presents a challenge in understanding the significance of various biomarkers in *** To elucidate the roles and diagnostic values ofα2-macroglobulin(α2-MG),podocalyxin(PcX),α-L-fucosidase(AFU),retinol-binding protein-4(RBP-4),and cystatin c(cysc)in *** From December 2018 to December 2020,203 T2DM patients were enrolled in the *** these,115 were diagnosed with DN(115 patients),while the remaining 88 patients were classified as *** urinary levels ofα2-MG,PcX,and AFU and the serum concentrations RBP-4 and cysc were measured in conjunction with other relevant clinical indicators to evaluate their potential correlations and diagnostic *** After adjustments for age and gender,significant positive correlations were observed between the biomarkers cysc,RBP-4,α2-MG/urinary creatinine(Ucr),PcX/Ucr,and AFU/Ucr,and clinical indicators such as urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio(UAcR),serum creatinine,urea,24-h total urine protein,and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR).conversely,these biomarkers exhibited negative correlations with the estimated glomerular filtration rate(Pceiver operating characteristic(ROc)curve analysis further demonstrated the diagnostic performance of these biomarkers,with UAcR showcasing the highest area under the ROc curve(AUc^(ROc))at *** This study underscores the diagnostic significance ofα2-MG,PcX,and AFU in the development of *** biomarkers RBP-4,cysc,PcX,AFU,andα2-MG provide promising diagnostic insights,while UAcR is the most potent diagnostic biomarker in assessing DN.
