Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of NicrAlYSi+NiAl/cBN abrasive coating coated superalloy during cyclic oxidation

cyclic oxidation behavior of Ni cr Al YSi+Ni Al/c BN abrasive coating at 900°c and the mechanical properties of the coating-substrate system were *** indicated that elemental interdiffusion occurred between the coating and substrate,which caused the formation of interdiffusion zone(IDZ)and secondary reaction zone(SRZ)during aluminization,while their compositions and structures changed with *** N interfacial layer formed at c BN/metallic matrix interface during aluminization,while it transformed into multilayer oxides during *** to the microstructural evolution of these interfaces,the fracture behavior and bending toughness of the system changed greatly during three-point bending ***,the damage mechanisms were discussed.

The hot corrosion behavior of the NiAl coating and the 5Hf-NiAl coating induced by mixed salt at 900℃was *** with the NiAl coating,the 5Hf-NiAl coating exhibited superior hot corrosion resistance because the addition of Hf promoted the formation of protective oxide scale and reduced the growth rate of oxide ***,internal sulfides were not present in the 5Hf-NiAl coating after hot corrosion for 140 *** exhibited different distribution in the two coatings since the addition of Hf changed the hot corrosion process of the *** and Ti in the 5Hf-NiAl coating trapped and captured sulfur,preventing the penetration of sulfur into the *** hot corrosion mechanism of the two coating and the effects of Hf on this process were discussed in this work.

In the present study,WB 2（N） films are fabricated on silicon and YG8 substrates at different N 2 pressures by reactive magnetron *** influence of N 2 partial pressure（P （N2）） on the film microstructure and characteristics is studied systematically,including the chemical composition,crystalline structure,residual stress,surface roughness as well as the surface and the cross-section ***,nano-indentation and ball-on-disk tribometer are performed to analyze the mechanical and tribological properties of the *** results show that the addition of nitrogen apparently leads to the change of the structure from（1 0 1） to（0 0 1） orientation then to the amorphous structure with the formation of BN *** the addition of nitrogen can greatly refine the grain size and microstructure of the ***,the residual stress of the film is also found to change from tensile to compressive stress as a function of P （N2）,and the compressive stress increases with P （N2）,The WB 2（N） films with small nitrogen content,which are deposited at P （N2） of 0.004 and 0.006 Pa,exhibit better mechanical,tribological and corrosion properties than those of other *** increase of nitrogen content accelerates the formation of BN phase and fast decreases the film *** addition,the large N 2 partial pressure gives rise to the target poisoning accompanied by the increase of the target voltage and the decrease of the deposition rate.

The influence of the bilayer number on the microstructure,mechanical properties,adhesion strength and tribological behaviors of the WB_(2)/cr multilayer films was systematically investigated in the present *** groups of WB_(2)/cr films with the same modulation ratio were synthesized by magnetron sputtering *** crystalline structure of the films was determined by X-ray *** morphologies and the microstructure of the films were observed by scanning electron microscopy,atomic force microscopy and transmission electron ***,Nano indenter,scratch tester and ball-on-disc tribometer were used to evaluate the mechanical and tribological *** bilayer numbers varied from 5 to 40,the hardness increased first and then decreased with the maximum hardness of 33.9 GPa when the bilayer number is *** H/E^(*)and H^(3)/E^(*2)values calculated to evaluate the fracture toughness showed the similar changing trend with *** adhesion strength reached the maximum of 67 N when the bilayer number is *** surface roughness and friction coefficient decreased with increasing bilayer *** wear mechanism was also investigated,and the results suggested that the multilayer film with bilayer number of 30 exhibited the best wear resistance(1.78×10^(–7)mm^(3)/Nm),benefiting from the contribution of high hardness,fracture toughness and adhesion strength.

The oxidation behaviour of a fourth-generation single-crystal superalloy without coating and with two types of McrAlY coatings at 1140℃was *** results showed that both coatings greatly improved the oxidation resistance of the superalloy,and the addition of Hf further improved the oxidation resistance by pinning the oxide layer into the *** and after oxidation,obvious cr and Al interdiffusion was *** cr diffusion induces the precipitation of a topologically close-packed phase,while the diffusion of Al affects the structure of theγ/γ’phase,the solubility of refractory elements,and the formation of an interdiffusion zone.

Al and Mn co-doped-ZnO films have been prepared at room temperature by Dc reacti ve magnetron sputtering technique. The optical absorption coefficient, apparent and fundamental band gap, and work function of the films have been investigated using optical spectroscopy, band structure analyses and ultraviolet photoelectro n spectroscopy (UPS). ZnO films have direct allowed transition band structure, w hich has been confirmed by the character of the optical absorption coefficient. The apparent band gap has been found directly proportional to N2/3, showing that the effect of Burstein-Moss shift on the band gap variations dominates over the many-body effect. With only standard cleaning protocols, the work function of ZnO: (Al, Mn) and ZnO: Al films have been measured to be 4.26 and 4.21eV, respec tively. The incorporation of Mn element into the matrix of ZnO, as a relatively deep donor, can remove some electrons from the conduction band and deplete the d ensity of occupied states at the Fermi energy, which causes a loss in measured p hotoemission intensity and an increase in the surface work function. Based on th e band gap and work function results, the energy band diagram of the ZnO: (Al, M n) film near its surface is also given.

Diamond-like carbon (DLc) films have been prepared on Si(100) substrates by arc ion plating in conjunction with pulse bias voltage under H2 atmosphere. The depo sited films have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy and atomic f orce microscopy. The results show that the surface of the film is smooth and den se without any cracks, and the surface roughness is low. The bonding characteris tic of the films has been studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy. It shows the sp3 bond content of the film deposited at -200V is 26.7%. The hardness and elastic modulus of the film determined by nanoindent ation technique are 30.8 and 250.1GPa, respectively. The tribological characteri stic of the films reveals that they have low friction coefficient and good wear- resistance. After deposition, the films have been annealed in the range of 350-7 00℃ for 1h in vacuum to investigate the thermal stability. Raman spectra indica te that the ID/IG ratio and G peak position have few detectable changes below 50 0℃. Further increasing the annealing temperature, the hydrogen can be released, the structure rearranges, and the phase transition of sp3 configured carbon to sp2 configured carbon appears.

An AlSiY coating and two McrAlY+AlSiY composite coatings with different thickness of McrAlY interlayer were prepared by arc ion plating(AIP)and vacuum *** isothermal oxidation behavior of coatings at 1100℃ for 300 h was also investigated to characterize the microstructure evolution of coatings during *** composite coatings exhibited a better high-temperature oxidation resistance at 1100℃ .The reason is that the addition of McrAlY layer can greatly contribute to prevent the diffusion of refractory elements to the outer *** inhibition of Al inward diffusion can be much stronger,as the Si content increases in the outer layer during annealing.

In order to improve the oxidation and wear resistance of blades tip of titanium alloys as well as the sealing performance of the gas turbine engine,a Ni/cBN abrasive coating was prepared on titanium alloys through composite ***,mechanical and tribological properties of the abrasive coating were ***,the effect of the oxidation on the mechanical and tribological properties was also *** results revealed that the abrasive coating underwent slight oxidation within 700℃.Meanwhile,some intermetallic compounds,Ni3Ti,NiTi and NiTi2,were formed at the coating/substrate interface during *** to the pinning effect of cBN particles and the different thermal expansion coefficients of the coating and substrate,the coating/substrate interface was cracked after oxidation at 700℃.Tensile results showed that the presence of coating reduced the strength of the alloy significantly at room temperature,while only marginal variations of the strength of the coated and uncoated specimens at elevated ***,the wear tests indicated that the coating had the excellent cutting ability and wear resistance,which can effectively protect the blades tip of titanium *** the temperature increased,the wear resistance decreased due to the decrease in the mechanical properties of the Ni/cBN coating.
