Background Hypospadias is one of the most common genital birth *** are around 300 various techniques available for the repair of *** study aims to compare the reported outcomes of Tubularized incised plate urethroplasty(TIP)and Grafted TIP(GTIP)repair in children undergoing primary *** This meta-analysisadhered to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines,and we framed our research question using the population,intervention,control and outcomes *** conducted comprehensive electronic searches across various databases,employing a Boolean search strategy with predefined search *** randomized controlled trials(RcTs)were included for quantitative *** Totally,10 RcTs met our inclusion criteria for quantitative *** results indicated that urethrocutaneous fistula,glans dehiscence,and stricture rates were comparable between the two *** incidence of meatal stenosis was found to be significantly lower in the GTIP group with a relative risk(RR)of 0.32(95%confidence interval(cl)0.15 to 0.67).conclusion The coucomes UcF,glans dehiscence,and stricture rates were comparable between the two ***,the incidence of meatal stenosis was found to be significantly lower in the grafted TIP *** terms of operative time,our quantitative synthesis demonstrated that the TIP group had a shorter operative time than the GTIP group with significant heterogeneity.

Post-urethroplasty complications in hypospadias repair: a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing, polydioxanone and polyglactin sutures

Background Polyglactin(PG)and polydioxanone(PDS)sutures are extensively used based on the surgeon's *** development of post-reconstruction urethrocutaneous fistula(UcF)is variably attributed to the choice of suture material for *** meta-an alysiscompares complications of hypospadia srepair using PGand PDS *** The systematic review and meta-analysis were performed as per the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** authors conducted thorough searches in databases including MEDLINE,EMBASE,cENTRAL,Scopus,Google Scholar,and clinical trial *** measures included UcF,meatal stenosis,wound infection,urethral stricture,glans dehiscence,and overall *** analysis was used with fixed or random-effect models to find the pooled risk ratio and I2 *** The criteria for inclusion were met by five comparative studies with the inclusion of 1244 children *** analysis failed to show a statistically significant difference in the incidence of meatal stenosis,urethral stricture,wound infection,and total complications using PG and PDS ***,it showed a reduction in the incidence of UcF with PDS suture hypospadias repairs(risk ratio=0.66,95%cl 0.48 to 0.92).conclusions PDS sutures are associated with decreased incidence of UcF than PG after hypospadias *** incidence of meatal stenosis,urethral stricture,wound infection,and total complications was not affected by the type of suture material used for *** implications This meta-analysis suggests decreased incidence of UcF when PDS sutures are used for hypospadias repair which may impact the choice of suturematerialforrepair.

Periodontitis is independently associated with numerous lifestyle *** patients have approximately threefold increased odds of periodontitis,which in turn increases the risk of systemic *** study by Thazhe Poyil et al is an effort to establish the inflammatory link between diabetic retinopathy(DR)and periodontitis based on the periodontal inflamed surface area in diabetic patients with and without *** further advance the study,we suggest refining the eligibility criteria to explicitly state the clinical correlates of periodontitis and DR,larger sample size and improved sampling methodology,matching of baseline characteristics of the two groups,as well as improved statistical approach and interpretation of the study *** of hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)in studies comparing type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with DR of matched severity with and without periodontitis could provide a clearer picture of whether HbA1c level is indeed influenced by periodontitis.

Electro-osmotic flow and heat transfer of a non-Newtonian fluid in a hydrophobic microchannel with Navier slip

In this paper, we investigate the implications of electro-osmosis on electrohydrodynamic transport of a non-Newtonian fluid on a hydrophobic micro-channel by developing a suitable analytical method. Velocity-slip and temperature-jump conditions are paid due attention. An attempt has been made to examine the effects of rheological and electro-osmotic parameters on the kinematics of the fluid. The nonlinear Poisson-Boltzmann equation governing the formation of the electrical double layer and the body force that is generated by the applied potential are accounted for in the study. Perturbation solutions are presented. In order to exhibit the applicability of the analysis, the problem of electro-osmotic flow and heat transfer of blood in an arteriole has been taken up as an illustrative example of a real-life problem. An intensive quantitative study has been made through numerical computation of the physical variables involved in the analysis, which are of special interest in the study. The computational results are presented graphically. The study reveals that the temperature of blood can be controlled by increasing/decreasing the Joule heating parameter.

Numerical study of flow and heat transfer during oscillatory blood flow in diseased arteries in presence of magnetic fields

A problem motivated by the investigation of the heat and mass transfer in the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic （MHD） flow of blood through a vessel is solved numerically when the lumen of the vessel has turned into the porous structure. The time-dependent permeability and the oscillatory suction velocity are considered. The computational results are presented graphically for the velocity, the temperature, and the concentration fields for various values of skin friction coefficients, Nusselt numbers, and Sherwood numbers. The study reveals that the flow is appreciably influenced by the presence of a magnetic field and also by the value of the Grashof number.

Effect of Pressure and Temperature on Phase Transformation and Properties of Titanium Aluminide Obtained through Reaction Synthesis

Reaction synthesis process has been used to develop γ titanium aluminide using elemental powders. Powder mixture of Ti-48 at. pct AI was prepared in ball mill and reaction synthesis was carried out in hot press with varying temperature and pressure. Titanium aluminide synthesized under high pressure and temperature resulted in better properties with respect to densification, homogenization response, mechanical properties and oxidation resistance as compared to that synthesized under low pressure and temperature. AI rich phases were observed in as-synthesized condition in all the experiments. However, some Ti rich phases were also found in high pressure-temperature synthesized samples. Density, hardness and tensile strength have been correlated with applied pressure through empirical relations. Variation in density with pressure is found to be logarithmic whereas hardness and tensile strength variation with pressure is polynomial.

Flow of a biomagnetic viscoelastic fluid:application to estimation of blood flow in arteries during electromagnetic hyperthermia,a therapeutic procedure for cancer treatment

The paper deals with the theoretical investigation of a fundamental problem of biomaguetic fluid flow through a porous medium subject to a magnetic field by using the principles of biomagnetic fluid dynamics （BFD）. The study pertains to a situation where magnetization of the fluid varies with temperature. The fluid is considered to be non-Newtonian, whose flow is governed by the equation of a second-grade viscoelastic fluid. The walls of the channel are assumed to be stretchable, where the surface velocity is proportional to the longitudinal distance from the origin of coordinates. The problem is first reduced to solving a system of coupled nonlinear differential equations involving seven parameters. considering blood as a biomagnetic fluid and using the present analysis, an attempt is made to compute some parameters of the blood flow by developing a suitable numerical method and by devising an appropriate finite difference scheme. The computational results are presented in graphical form, and thereby some theoretical predictions are made with respect to the hemodynamical flow of the blood in a hyperthermal state under the action of a magnetic field. The results clearly indicate that the presence of a magnetic dipole bears the potential so as to affect the characteristics of the blood flow in arteries to a significant extent during the therapeutic procedure of electromagnetic hyperthermia. The study will attract the attention of clinicians, to whom the results would be useful in the treatment of cancer patients by the method of electromagnetic hyperthermia.
