Living fossils are evidence of long-term sustained ecological ***,whether living fossils have little molecular changes remains poorly known,particularly in ***,we have introduced a novel method that integrates phylogenomic,comparative genomic,and ecological niche modeling analyses to investigate the rate of molecular evolution of Eupteleaceae,a cretaceous relict angiosperm family endemic to East *** assembled a high-quality chromosome-level nuclear genome,and the chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes of a member of Eupteleaceae(Euptelea pleiosperma).Our results show that Eupteleaceae is most basal in Ranunculales,the earliest-diverging order in eudicots,and shares an anc.ent whole-genome duplication event with the other *** document that Eupteleaceae has the slowest rate of molecular changes in the observed *** unusually low rate of molecular evolution of Eupteleaceae across all three independent inherited genomes and genes within each of the three genomes is in association with its conserved genome architecture,ancestral woody habit,and conserved niche *** findings reveal the evolution and adaptation of living fossil plants through large-scale environmental change and also provide new insights into early eudicot diversification.

Genome-Wide Identification of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) cKX Gene Family and Expression Analysis in the callus Tissue under Zeatin Treatment

The cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase(cKX)enzyme is essential for controlling theﬂuctuating levels of endogen-ous cytokinin(cK)and has a signiﬁcant impact on different aspects of plant growth and ***-less,there is limited knowledge about cKX genes in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.).Here we performed genome-wide identiﬁcation and analysis of nine SlcKX family members in tomatoes using bioinformatics *** results revealed that nine SlcKX genes were unevenly distributed onﬁve chromosomes(chr.1,chr.4,chr.8,chr.10,and chr.12).The amino acid length,isoelectric points,and molecular weight of the nine SlcKX proteins ranged from 453 to 553,5.77 to 8.59,and 51.661 to 62.494 kD,*** localization analysis indi-cated that SlcKX2 proteins were located in both the vacuole and cytoplasmic matrix;SlcKX3 and SlcKX5 pro-teins were located in the vacuole;and SlcKX1,4,6,7,8,and 9 proteins were located in the cytoplasmic ***,we observed differences in the gene structures and phylogenetic relationships of SlcKX proteins among different ***1-9 were positioned on two out of the three branches of the cKX phylogenetic tree in the multispecies phylogenetic tree construction,revealing their strong conservation within phylogenetic *** patterns of expression of cKX genes were noticed in callus cultures exposed to varying con-centrations of exogenous ZT,suggesting their roles in speciﬁc developmental and physiological functions in the regeneration *** results may facilitate subsequent functional analysis of SlcKX genes and provide valu-able insights for establishing an efﬁc.ent regeneration system for tomatoes.

colorimetric indicator based on zwitterionic anti-freezing hydrogel and alizarin for visual monitoring of salmon fillets freshness

Indicating hydrogels have shown the advantages of being fast, sensitive, and real-time in demonstrating the freshness of aquatic products due to their noticeable color change. In this work, an anti-freezing hydrogel embedded with pH-sensitive alizarin was developed as an original colorimetric indicator for monitoring the corruption of aquatic products at low temperatures. The anti-freezing hydrogel was prepared from 2-carboxyethyl acrylate, [2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]-trimethylammonium chloride, and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate monomers with triethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linking agent. The hydrogel showed excellent anti-freezing capability, which was further incorporated with the pH-sensitive dye alizarin to gain the indicating capability. When applied in the indication of the freshness of salmon under low-temperature storage, it was found that the color changes of the indicator corresponded with the total volatile basic nitrogen contents of salmon, the correlation coeffic.ent of which was 0.959 6. These results indicated the application potential of the hydrogels as freshness indicators during low-temperature storage or cold-chain transportation.

Objective To clarify the potential mechanism of Banxia Xiexin Decoction(BXD)on colorectal cancer(cRc)from the perspective of *** Forty male c57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into normal control(Nc),azoxymethane/dextran sulfate sodium(AOM/DSS)model,low-dose BXD(L-BXD),high-dose BXD(H-BXD)and mesalamine(MS)groups according to a random number table,8 mice in each *** cancer model was induced by AOM/*** was administered daily at doses of 3.915(L-BXD)and 15.66 g/kg(H-BXD)by gavage for consecutive 21 days,and 100 mg/kg MS was used as positive *** the entire modeling cycle,colon length of mice was measured and quantity of colorectal tumors were *** spleen and thymus index were determined by calculating the spleen/thymus weight to body *** cytokine and changes of serum metabolites were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits and ultra performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLc-Q/TOF-MS),*** Notably,BXD supplementation protected against weight loss,mitigated tumor formation,and diminished histologic damage in mice treated with AOM/DSS(Penzymes,and improved the spleen and thymus index(Pcompared with the normal group,102 kinds of differential metabolites were screened in the AOM/DSS group,including 48 potential biomarkers,involving 18 main metabolic *** 18 potential biomarkers related to cRc were identified,and the anti-cRc mechanism of BXD was closely related to D-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism,phenylalanine,tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis,arginine biosynthesis,nitrogen metabolism and so *** BXD exerts partial protective effects on AOM/DSS-induced cRc by reducing inflammation,protecting organism immunity ability,and regulating amino acid metabolism.

Association between 5-HTR1A gene c-1019G polymorphism and antidepressant response in patients with major depressive disorder:A meta-analysis

BAcKGROUND Major depressive disorder(MDD)is a substantial global health concern,and its treatment is complicated by the variability in individual response to *** To consolidate research and clarify the impact of genetic variation on MDD treatment *** Adhering to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines,a systematic search across PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Sc.ence,and the cochrane Library was conducted without date restrictions,utilizing key terms related to MDD,serotonin 1A receptor polymorphism(5-HTR1A),c-1019G polymorphism,and antidepressant *** meeting inclusion criteria were thoroughly screened,and quality assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa *** analyses,includingχ2 and I²values,were used to evaluate heterogeneity and fixed-effect or random-effect models were applied *** The initial search yielded 1216 articles,with 11 studies meeting criteria for *** of various genetic models showed no significant association between the 5-HTR1A c-1019G polymorphism and antidepressant *** heterogeneity was low to moderate,and no publication bias was detected through funnel plot symmetry and Egger's and Begg's *** This meta-analysis does not support a significant association between the 5-HTR1A c-1019G polymorphism and the efficacy of antidepressant treatment in *** findings call for further research with larger cohorts to substantiate these results and enhance the understanding of antidepressant pharmacogenetics.

Driven by the large volume demands of data in transmission systems,the number of spatial modes supported by mode-division multiplexing(MDM)systems is being increased to take full advantage of the parallelism of the signals in different spatial *** a key element for photonic integrated circuits,the multimode waveguide optical switch(MWOS)is playing an important role for data exchange and signal ***,the function of the traditional MWOS is simple,which could only implement the mode-insensitive or mode-selective switching function;it is also difficult to scale to accommodate more spatial modes because of the limitation of the device ***,it is still challenging to realize a multifunctional and scalable MWOS that could support multiple modes with low power consumption and high ***,we propose and experimentally demonstrate a multifunctional MWOS based on asymmetric Y-junctions and multimode interference(MMI)couplers fabricated on a polymer waveguide *** mode-insensitive and mode-selective switching functions can be achieved via selectively heating different electrode *** fabricated device with the total length of∼0.8 cmshows an insertion loss of less than 12.1 dB,and an extinction ratio of larger than 8.4 dB with a power consumption of∼32 mW for both mode-insensitive and mode-selective switching functions,at 1550 nm *** proposed MWOS can also be scaled to accommodate more spatial modes flexibly and easily,which can serve as an important building block for MDM systems.
