The development of novel piezoelectric catalysts against harsh conditions is indeed crucial for improving the piezo-catalytic degradation effic.ency of colored organic dyes in *** this work,6H-Sic nanoparticles(NPs)are utilized to piezo-catalytic degrade rhodamine B(RhB)and methylene blue(MB)under ultrasonic vibration for the first *** degradation effic.ency of RhB and MB reaches 98.8%and 98.7%within 80 *** piezoelectricity of 6H-Sic is comprehensively analyzed by the piezoresponse force microscope(PFM)and finite element method(FEM).The strong oxidizing active free radicals generated by the continuous piezoelectric polarized electric field of 6H-Sic,i.e.,·O_(2)^(-)and·OH,induce the decomposition reactions of colored organic dyes in *** the dyes are proven to degrade to harmless or less-harmful products gradually during the piezo-catalysis process by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(HPLc-MS).Moreover,RhB is also decomposed effic.ently by 6HSic NPs under acidic and alkaline *** results prove the feasibility of 6H-Sic for decomposing common water pollutants under harsh conditions and provide a new perspective for water purification.

Superhydrophobic surfaces have demonstrated exceptional efficacy in combatting biofouling contaminations of optical devices and equipment in marine applications. However, the fabrication of highly transparent superhydrophobic materials remains a formidable challenge due to the inherent trade-off between surface roughness for superhydrophobicity and optical ***, we design a robust and transparent superhydrophobic coating(Si-POSS) embedded silica nanoparticles(200 nm) with fluorinated polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes(F-POSS) and zinc pyrithione(ZPT). The Si-POSS coating exhibits excellent water repellence toward diverse liquids and optical transmittance exceeding 90% in the visible spectrum. Moreover, the Si-POSS coating sustains long-term anti-bacterial(> 99.11%) and anti-algal effects for over 30 days, accompanied by mechanical,chemical, and thermal stability. This research asserts that the Si-POSS coating with outstanding combined characteristics holds significant potential for marine applications, particularly in self-cleaning and antifouling endeavors.

AIM:To explore the factors influencing individuals’willingness to participate in ophthalmic clinical ***:A questionnaire survey was conducted from January to April 2021 among patients and their family members at Zhongshan Ophthalmic center,Sun Yat-sen University,in Guangzhou,*** survey gathered data on respondents’willingness,demographic and socioeconomic profiles,as well as their reasons and concerns regarding engagement in clinical ***:Of the 1078 residents surveyed(mean age 31.2±13.1y;65.8%females)in Guangzhou,749(69.5%)expressed a willingness to participate in future ophthalmic clinical *** characteristics associated with greater willingness included a younger age,lower annual income,higher education,prior participation experience,previous ophthalmic treatment,and a better understanding of clinical *** the exception of age,these characteristics were significantly linked to a higher *** primary barrier to participation,expressed by 64.8%of those willing and 54.4%of those unwilling,was“Uncertain efficacy”.In terms of motivations,the willing group ranked“Better therapeutic benefits”(35.0%),“Professional monitoring”(34.3%),and“Trust in healthcare professionals”(33.1%)as their top three reasons,whereas the unwilling participants indicated“Full comprehension of the protocol”(46.2%)as the key ***:This study reveals a substantial willingness to participate in ophthalmic clinical trials and demonstrates the predictive role of demographic and socioeconomic *** in motivators and concerns between willing and unwilling participants highlight the significance of tailored recruitment ***,the need for and trust in healthcare professionals stand out as powerful motivations,underscoring the importance of enhancing physician-patient relationships,adopting patient-centered communication approaches,and addressing individualized needs to improve accrual rates.

This study entailed an investigation of the mechanical properties,microstructural and texture orientation evolutions of cu-cr-co-Ti alloys prepared via twostage cryorolling and intermediate aging *** this end,X-ray diffraction and electron backscatter diffraction were *** results indicate that the two-stage cryorolling and intermediate aging treatments led to the development of profuse twin bundles and significantly enhanced the mechanical *** initial cryorolling led to coplanar slip and developed a strong Y({111})orientation,accelerating the formation of Goss({011})orientation and a Brass-type *** intermediate aging treatment relieved the restriction on dislocation slip and reoriented the grains toward the copper({112})and Z({111})*** Z orientation,with a relatively high volume fraction,dominated the *** cryorolling intensified twinning and shear banding,transforming the copper-type shear bands into Brass-type shear bands with rhomboidal prism *** areas inside the Brasstype shear bands exhibited a Y orientation,and the areas outside the shear bands exhibited a stable Brass-type *** evident decrease in the weighted Schmid factors demonstrated that the two-stage cryorolling and intermediate aging treatment can modify the texture evolution and aid the design of high-performance cu alloys.

Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction（enRR） for ammonia synthesis is a promising strategy to relieve nitration contamination,as well as an alternative to the Haber-Bosch *** blue analogs（PBAs） are expected to be an electrocatalytic material with superior performance owing to their abundant active sites and open channel ***,most reported PBA materials possess low nitrate conversion and ammonia yield rates,which has led to a hindrance in their research of ***,cuMn-PBA-shelled nanoboxes（cuMn-PBA SNBs） synthesized through tannic acid etching and cation exchange approaches are demonstrated for effic.ent ammonia *** optimal cuMn-PBA SNBs electrode achieves a high nitrate conversion of 91.33% and ammonia selectivity of 98.87% in a 0.2 mol·L-1Na2SO4solution with100×10-6NO3--N at-1.4 V ***,the cuMn-PBA SNB s electrode exhibits exceptional stability throughout a 30 h electrocatalytic *** outstanding electrochemical performance is attributed to the unique hollow nanobox structure with abundant active sites and high-throughput transport pathways for ions' aspects.

copper alloy composite bit matrix was prepared by pressureless vacuum infiltration,using at least one of the three kinds of tungsten carbide particles,for example,irregular cast tungsten carbide,monocrystalline tungsten carbide and sintered reduced tungsten carbide *** effects of powder particle morphology,particle size and mass fraction of tungsten carbide on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper alloy composite were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and abrasive wear test in *** results show that tungsten carbide morphology and particle size have obvious effects on the mechanical properties of copper alloy *** tungsten carbide partially dissolved in the copper alloy binding phase,and layers of cu_(0.3)W_(0.5)Ni_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)c phase with a thickness of around 8–15μm were formed on the edge of the cast tungsten *** 45%irregular crushed fine cast tungsten carbide and 15%monocrystalline cast tungsten carbide were used as the skeleton,satisfactory comprehensive performance of the reinforced copper alloy composite bit matrix was obtained,with the bending strength,impact toughness and hardness reaching 1048 MPa,4.95 J/cm^(2) and 43.6 HRc,*** main wear mechanism was that the tungsten carbide particles firstly protruded from the friction surface after the copper alloy matrix was worn,and then peeled off from the matrix when further wear occurred.

We present a Brillouin–Raman random fiber laser(BRRFL)with full-open linear cavity structure to generate broadband Brillouin frequency comb(BFc)with double Brillouin-frequency-shift *** incorporation of a regeneration portion consisting of an erbium-doped fiber and a single-mode fiber enables the generation of broadband *** dynamics of broadband BFc generation changing with the pump power(EDF and Raman)and Brillouin pump(BP)wavelength are investigated in detail,*** suitable conditions,the bidirectional BRRFL proposed can produce a flatamplitude BFc with 40.7-nm bandwidth ranging from 1531 nm to 1571.7 nm,and built-in 242-order Brillouin Stokes lines(BSLs)with double Brillouin-frequency-shift ***,the linewidth of single BSL is experimentally measured to be about 2.5 *** broadband bidirectional narrow-linewidth BRRFL has great potential applications in optical communication,optical sensing,spectral measurement,and so on.

In order to lower the usage of expensive cyanex 923 and increase the extraction capacity of the system of cextrant 230,the synergistic extraction of thorium from chloride media by a mixture of cextrant 230 and cyanex 923 was *** maximum synergistic.enhancement coeffic.ent(R)of 1.53 is obtained at 1:1 molar ratio of cextrant 230/cyanex *** syne rgistic extracted species of Th^(4+)is determined as Thcl_(4)·2cextrant 230·cyanex *** synergistic extraction of Th^(4+)is an entropy-driven exothermic *** loading capacity of 0.60 mol/L mixed extractant for thorium is about 17.10 g/L(calculated as ThO_(2)),and the loaded thorium in the organic phase can be effectively stripped by distilled *** comparison,rare earth cations are barely extracted under the similar conditions,suggesting that the mixtures can be applied to separate thorium from rare earths.A cascade extraction process was developed based on the synergistic extraction system to separate thorium from the hydrochloric acid leaching of *** content of thorium in the leaching solution decreases obviously from 19.90 mg/L to1.4μg/L by 3 stages of extraction,which is superior to sole cextrant 230 or cyanex *** introduction of cextrant 230 into the extraction system not only lowers the usage of cyanex 923 but also enhances the selective extraction of thorium at low acidity,implying that the synergistic extraction system can selectively extract thorium more effic.ently and economically than the sole systems.
