The Standard Model of particle physics, which contains the field theories for the electro-weak interaction (QED) and the strong interaction (QcD), is an extremely successful theory describing a huge variety of phenomena at the atomic and subatomic level with incredible accuracy. However, the inner workings of the strong interaction for systems characterised by small momentum transfers (of the order ofΛQcDor smaller) are still not fully understood.

Topological materials, which feature robust surface and/or edge states, have now been a research focus in condensed maTher physics. They represent a new class of materials exhibiting nontrivial topological phases,and provide a platform for exploring exotic transport phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect. Recently, magnetic topological materials have attracted considerable interests due to the possibility to study the interplay between topological and magnetic *** particular, the quantum anomalous Hall and axion insulator phases can be realized in topological insulators with magnetic order. MnBi2Te4, as the first intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator discovered, allows the examination of existing theoretical predictions; it has been extensively studied, and many new discoveries have been made. Here we review the progress made on MnBi2Te4from both experimental and theoretical aspects. The bulk crystal and magnetic structures are surveyed first, followed by a review of theoretical calculations and experimental probes on the band structure and surface states, and a discussion of various exotic phases that can be realized in MnBi2Te4. The properties of MnBi2Te4thin films and the corresponding transport studies are then reviewed, with an emphasis on the edge state transport. Possible future research directions in this field are also discussed.

In this paper,we propose a doping approach to lower the error floor of Low-Density Parity-check(LDPc)*** doping component is a short block code in which the information bits are selected from the coded bits of the dominant trapping sets of the LDPc ***,an algorithm for selecting the information bits of the short code is proposed,and a specific two-stage decoding algorithm is *** results demonstrate that the proposed doped LDPc code achieves up to 2.0 dB gain compared with the original LDPc code at a frame error rate of 10^(-6)Furthermore,the proposed design can lower the error floor of original LDPc codes.

The aim of this work is to predict,for the first time,the high temperature flow stress dependency with the grain size and the underlaid deformation mechanism using two machine learning models,random forest(RF)and artificial neural network(ANN).With that purpose,a ZK30 magnesium alloy was friction stir processed(FSP)using three different severe conditions to obtain fine grain microstructures(with average grain sizes between 2 and 3μm)prone to extensive superplastic *** three friction stir processed samples clearly deformed by grain boundary sliding(GBS)deformation mechanism at high *** maximum elongations to failure,well over 400% at high strain rate of 10^(-2)s^(-1),were reached at 400℃ in the material with coarsest grain size of 2.8μm,and at 300℃ for the finest grain size of 2μ***,the superplastic response decreased at 350℃ and 400℃ due to thermal instabilities and grain coarsening,which makes it difficult to assess the operative deformation mechanism at such *** work highlights that the machine learning models considered,especially the ANN model with higher accuracy in predicting flow stress values,allow determining adequately the superplastic creep behavior including other possible grain size scenarios.

Immersed in the rich tapestry of traditional culture,Gugak,the traditional Korean music stands as a captivating embodiment of artistic *** study embarked on a comprehensive evaluation of a Gugak hall,employing acoustic measurements,computer simulations,and subjective perception *** evaluation focused on the reverberance,clarity,spatial impression,and preference,unravelling the secrets that shape the immersive Gugak *** intricate computer simulations and auralization,the experience of Gugak performances was meticulously brought to life,allowing exploration under diverse conditions by adjusting stage volume ratios from -20% to+20% and modifying the interior materials,including the walls,ceiling,and lateral *** Gugak halls exhibited relatively low values of reverberation time(RT),early decay time(EDT),and binaural quality index(BQI)the dominant factor influencing the acoustic environment was the effect of sound strength(G).Musical clarity(c80)value did not show an inverse proportionality to the reverberation ***,genre differences between traditional Korean and Western classical music did not significantly affect listeners’perception and satisfaction with regards to reverberance,clarity,and spatial *** a result,Gugak halls can adhere to the same acoustic design criteria as Western orchestra halls,since this study found that people perceived them the same *** this study,sound strength was found to be strongly correlated with perception *** was possible to enhance listeners’perception and preference regarding the acoustic environment through material and structural changes to the sidewalls and *** changes improved the reinforcement of low frequencies and simultaneously enhanced the relative effect of side ***,enhancing the reflection and spatial characteristics of the materials effectively improved listener *** on these findings,an optimal des

Plants of the caprifoliaceae family are widely cultivated worldwide as ornamental plants owing to their numerous,sweet-smelling,beautiful flowers and *** miconioides Rehd.,a member of the family,is endemic to eastern china and is cultivated as a popular ornamental plant in North America and European *** has a rather novel and beautiful trait of high horticultural value,that is,its sepals persist and enlarge,turning purplish ***,we report the chromosome-level genome assembly of *** to understand its evolution and floral *** 622.28 Mb assembled genome harbored a shared whole-genome duplication with a related species,Lonicera *** genomic analysis suggested that chromosome fission events following genome duplication underlie the unusual chromosome number of these two species,as well as chromosome fission of another five chromosomes in ***,giving rise to a haploid chromosome number of 14(versus 9 in ***).In addition,based on transcriptome and chloroplast genome analysis of 17 representative species in the caprifoliaceae,we assumed that large structural variations in the chromosomes of *** were not caused by *** in the candidate genes of the MADS-box family were detected in the *** genome,including AP1-,AP3-,and SEPexpanded,which might underlie the sepal elongation and development in this *** current findings provided a critical resource for genome evolution studies in caprifoliaceae and it was an example of how multi-omics data can elucidate the regulation of important ornamental traits.

How can Practitioners Support citizen Volunteers in Disaster Risk Reduction? Insight from “Good and Ready” in Aotearoa New Zealand

Global and national policy frameworks emphasize the importance of people's participation and volunteers' role in disaster risk reduction. While research has extensively focused on volunteers in disaster response and recovery, less attention has been paid on how organizations involved in disaster risk management can support volunteers in leading and coordinating communitybased disaster risk reduction. In 2019, the New Zealand Red cross piloted the Good and Ready initiative in Auckland,Aotearoa New Zealand, with the objective to empower local people in resilience building with a focus on volunteers and community participation. This research examined the positive and negative outcomes of Good and Ready and investigated volunteers' experiences in the disaster resilience initiative. It involved the codesign of a questionnaire-based survey using participatory methods with Good and Ready volunteers, the dissemination of the survey to gather volunteers' viewpoints, and a focus group discussion with participatory activities with Red cross volunteers. The findings highlight that a key challenge lies in finding a balance between a program that provides flexibility to address contextual issues and fosters communities' ownership, versus a prescriptive and standardized approach that leaves little room for creativity and self-initiative. It pinpoints that supporting volunteers with technical training is critical but that soft skills training such as coordinating, communicating,or facilitating activities at the local level are needed. It concludes that the sustainability of Good and Ready requires understanding and meeting volunteers' motivations and expectations and that enhancing partnerships with local emergency management agencies would strengthen the program.
