Metallacyclopentadienes are important metallacycles and regarded as intermediates in many reactions,therefore,new methods to achieve them are *** this study,a formal[3+2]method,through the reactions of an osmapentalyne with benzyl carbanions,was *** reactions underwent a nucleophilic attack of carbanions to the Os≡c bond,followed by c—H activation to form the five-membered osmacyclopentadiene *** of the reactions were carried out at room temperature,the substituents on the aromatic rings of benzyl carbanions are diverse,and the resulting products contain an Os—H bond,representing a novel type of 10c-carbolong *** work provides a new convenient route to construct metallacyclopentadienes,which is expected to further promote the development of such a type of substances.

In core-shell silver nanoclusters, the control of core structure presents a more formidable challenge compared to that of the shell structure. Here, we report the successful synthesis and characterization of four distinct silver thiolate nanoclusters [MS4@Ag12@Ag46S24（dppb）12]（M = Mo or W）, each incorporating a cup-like [MS4@Ag12]2+kernel. These nanoclusters were meticulously prepared using（NH4）2Mo S4or（NH4）2WS4as both a template and a controlled source of S2-ions. Remarkably, we have observed a unique configuration within these eight-electron superatomic Ag58nanoclusters, where the zerovalent Ag atoms reside exclusively within the inner [MS4@Ag12]2+kernel. This stands in contrast to other superatomic clusters possessing an Ag（0） core. Notably, the introduction of phenyl-containing compounds during the synthesis process induced a transformation in the space group symmetry from c2/c to I 4ˉ. This transformative effect was found to originate from the interplay between adjacent 1,4-bis（diphenylphosphino）butane（dppb） ligands, which facilitated enhanced emission through aggregationinduced intermolecular interactions, specifically c-H···π interactions. collectively, our findings contribute substantively to the understanding of the intricate relationship between nanocluster structures and their corresponding properties, shedding light on the crucial roles played by templates and diphosphine ligands in this context.

Effects of nano-metal oxide additives on ignition and combustion properties of MIcs-boron rich fuels

Boron has been considered a promising powdered metal fuel for enhancing composite propellants' energy output due to its high energy density. However, the high ignition temperature and low combustion efficiency limit the application of boron powder due to the high boiling point of the boron oxide layer. Much research is ongoing to overcome these shortcomings, and one potential approach is to introduce a small quantity of metal oxide additives to promote the reaction of boron. This study prepared boron-rich fuels with 10 wt% of eight nano-metal oxide additives by mechanical ball milling. The effect of metal oxides on the thermo-oxidation, ignition, and combustion properties of boron powder was comprehensively studied by the thermogravimetric analysis (TG), the electrically heated filament setup (T-jump), and the laser-induced combustion experiments. TG experiments at 5 K/min found that Bi2O3, MoO3, TiO2, Fe2O3, and cuO can promote thermo-oxidation of boron. compared to pure boron, T-onset can be reduced from 569 degrees c to a minimum of 449 degrees c (B/Bi2O3). Infrared temperature measurement in T-jump tests showed that when heated by an electric heating wire at rates from 1000 K/s to 25000 K/s, the ignition temperatures of B/Bi2O3 are the lowest, even lower than the melting point of boron oxide. Ignition images and SEM for the products further showed that the high heating rate is beneficial to the rapid reaction of boron powder in the single-particle combustion state. Fuels (B/Bi2O3, B/MoO3, and B/cuO) were mixed with the oxidant AP and ignited by laser to study the combustion performance. The results showed that B/cuO/AP has the largest flame area, the highest BO2 characteristic spectral intensity, and the largest burn rate for powder lines. To combine the advantages of cuO and Bi2O3, binary metal oxide (cBO, mass ratio of 3:1) was prepared and the test results showed that cBO can very well improve both ignition and combustion properties of boron. Pd-based metallic nanosheets with advanced physicochemical properties have been widely prepared and employed in various electrocatalytic ***,few concerns were focused on their multiple performances in different ***,highly curved and ultrathin PdNiRu nanosheets(NSs)are developed by facile wet-chemistry strategy and exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance toward both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and ethylene glycol oxidation reaction(EGOR).Owing to the synergistically structural(e.g.,ultrathin,curved,defects/steps-rich)and compositional(ternary alloy)advantages,PdNiRu NSs exhibited enhanced ORR and EGOR specific/mass activities and better stability/durability than control *** specific activity(5.52 mA·cm^(−2))and mass activity(1.13 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1))of the PdNiRu NSs in ORR are 4.8 and 3.4 times as the ones of commercial Pt/c,*** mass activity of PdNiRu NSs(3.86 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1))in EGOR is 2.6 times as commercial Pd/c(1.51 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1)).This study is helpful for the development of desired electrocatalysts with multi-functional application in practical fuel cells.

The development of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries is hindered by the disadvantages of shuttling of polysulfides and the sluggish redox kinetics of the conversion of sulfur species during discharge and ***,the crystallinities of a titanium nitride(TiN)film on copper-embedded carbon nanofibers(cu-cNFs)are regulated and the nanofibers are used as interlayers to resolve the aforementioned crucial issues.A low-crystalline TiN-coated cu-cNF(L-TiN-cu-cNF)interlayer is compared with its highly crystalline counterpart(H-TiN-cu-cNFs).It is demonstrated that the L-TiN coating not only strengthens the chemical adsorption toward polysulfides but also greatly accelerates the electrochemical conversion of *** to robust carbon frameworks and enhanced kinetics,impressive highrate performance at 2 c(913 mAh g^(-1)based on sulfur)as well as remarkable cyclic stability up to 300 cycles(626 mAh g^(-1))with capacity retention of 46.5%is realized for L-TiN-cu-cNF interlayer-configured Li-S *** under high loading(3.8 mg cm^(-2))of sulfur and relatively lean electrolyte(10μL electrolyte per milligram sulfur)conditions,the Li-S battery equipped with L-TiN-cu-cNF interlayers delivers a high capacity of 1144 mAh g^(-1)with cathodic capacity of 4.25 mAh cm^(-2)at 0.1 c,providing a potential pathway toward the design of multifunctional interlayers for highly efficient Li-S batteries.

The infinite-layer cuprate Acu O_(2)(A=ca,Sr,Ba)possesses the simplest crystal structure among numerous cuprate superconductors and can serve as a prototypical system to explore the unconventional *** on the first-principles electronic structure calculations,we have studied the electronic and magnetic properties of the infinite-layer cuprate SrcuO_(2)from a phonon *** find that interesting fluctuations of charges,electrical dipoles,and local magnetic moments can be induced by the atomic displacements of phonon modes in SrcuO_(2)upon the hole *** all optical phonon modes of SrcuO_(2)in the antiferromagnetic Néel state,only the A_(1g)mode that involves the full-breathing O vibrations along the cu-O bonds can cause significant fluctuations of local magnetic moments on O atoms and dramatic charge redistributions between cu and O ***,due to the atomic displacements of the A_(1g)mode,both the charge fluctuations on cu and the electrical dipoles on O show a dome-like evolution with increasing hole doping,quite similar to the experimentally observed behavior of the superconducting T_(c);in comparison,the fluctuations of local magnetic moments on O display a monotonic enhancement along with the hole *** analyses indicate that around the optimal doping,there exists a large softening in the frequency of the A_(1g)phonon mode and a van Hove singularity in the electronic structure close to the Fermi level,suggesting potential electron-phonon *** work reveals the important role of the full-breathing O phonon mode playing in the infinite-layer SrcuO_(2),which may provide new insights in understanding the cuprate superconductivity.

Single-source-precursor synthesis and air-plasma ablation behavior of(Ti,Zr,Hf)c/Sic ceramic nanocomposites at 2200℃

Dense monolithic(Ti,Zr,Hf)c/Sic ceramic nanocomposites with four different molar ratios of metallic elements in the(Ti,Zr,Hf)c phase(i.e.,Ti:Zr:Hf=1:1:1,2:3:5,2:3:3,and 1:2:1)were prepared upon pyrolysis of novel(Ti,Zr,Hf)-containing single-source precursors(SSPs),followed by spark plasma sintering(SPS).A thorough characterization was conducted to elucidate the synthesis of the SSPs,polymer-to-ceramic transformation,chemical/phase compositions,and microstructure of the SiTiZrHfc-based *** results revealed the feasibility of synthesizing nanocomposites with high(Ti,Zr,Hf)c contents using the SSP *** nanocomposites were characterized by a unique microstructure with in situ generated(Ti,Zr,Hf)c@c core-shell nanoparticles homogeneously mixed withβ-*** ablation behavior of the nanocomposites was evaluated on an air-plasma device for 60 ***,the nanocomposites exhibited excellent ablation resistance,and the lowest linear ablation rate reached−0.58μm/s at 2200°***,the ablation resistance can be dramatically improved by precisely tailoring the atomic ratios of metal elements within the(Ti,Zr,Hf)c phase via the molecular design of the *** formation of a multiple-oxide layer with both a high-meltingpoint phase((Ti,Zr,Hf)O_(2))and low-melting-point phases((Zr,Hf)TiO_(4))and glassy SiO_(2),as well as their structure,played a critical role in the enhanced ablation *** uniform distribution of the high-melting-point(Ti,Zr,Hf)O_(2)nano/microparticles throughout the glassy SiO_(2)matrix significantly enhanced the viscosity and stability of the oxide layer by the pinning effect,offering superior protection against the ingress of oxygen atoms and excellent resistance to mechanical erosion.

Dear Editor,cOVID-19 inactivated vaccines have been extensively administered ***,the majority of the chinese population has experiencedbreakthrough infections from SARS-coV-2 ancestral,Delta or Omicronvariants over the past three years,particularly during the wave of Omicron BA.5 and BA.7 variants at the end of 2022(Zhu et al.,2023).Subsequently,new Omicron variants,such as BQ.1,BQ.1.1,XBB,XBB.1/XBB.1.9,and XBB.1.5/XBB.1.9.1,are emerging in china(Yueetal.,2023;Zhu et al.,2023).Therefore,it is an urgentneed and a publichealth imperative to assess the extent of the immunoprotection established in this population.
