The discovery and synthesis of MnBi2Te4in 2013 initially garnered little attention [1]. Yet, the revelation of its topological properties in 2019 [2–6] sparked a surge of research into the MnBiTe family. Herbal extraction residues(HERs)cause serious environmental pollution and resource *** this study,a novel green route was designed for the comprehensive reutilization of all components in HERs,taking Magnolia officinalis residues(MOR)as an *** reluctant structure of MOR was first destroyed by alkali pretreatment to release the functional ingredients(magnolol and honokiol)originally remaining in MOR and to make MOR more accessible for hydrolysis.A metal–organic frame material MIL-101(cr)with a maximum absorption capacity of 255.64 mg g^(-1)was synthesized to absorb the released honokiol and magnolol from the pretreated MOR solutions,and 40 g L^(-1)reducing sugars were obtained with 81.8%enzymatic hydrolysis rate at 10%MOR solid ***,382 mg L-1β-amyrin was produced from MOR hydrolysates by an engineered yeast *** total,1 kg honokiol,8 kg magnolol,and 7.64 kg β-amyrin could produce from 1 ton MOR by this cleaner process with a total economic output of 170,700 RMB.

Topological materials, which feature robust surface and/or edge states, have now been a research focus in condensed maTher physics. They represent a new class of materials exhibiting nontrivial topological phases,and provide a platform for exploring exotic transport phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect. Recently, magnetic topological materials have attracted considerable interests due to the possibility to study the interplay between topological and magnetic *** particular, the quantum anomalous Hall and axion insulator phases can be realized in topological insulators with magnetic order. MnBi2Te4, as the first intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator discovered, allows the examination of existing theoretical predictions; it has been extensively studied, and many new discoveries have been made. Here we review the progress made on MnBi2Te4from both experimental and theoretical aspects. The bulk crystal and magnetic structures are surveyed first, followed by a review of theoretical calculations and experimental probes on the band structure and surface states, and a discussion of various exotic phases that can be realized in MnBi2Te4. The properties of MnBi2Te4thin films and the corresponding transport studies are then reviewed, with an emphasis on the edge state transport. Possible future research directions in this field are also discussed.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder with high genetic heritability but *** understanding its genetics requires whole-genome sequencing (WGS),but the ASD studies utilizing WGS data in chinese population are *** this study,we present a WGS study for 334 individuals,including 112 ASD patients and their non-ASD *** identified 146 de novo variants in coding regions in 85 cases and 60 inherited variants in coding *** integrating these variants with an association model,we identified 33 potential risk genes (Pched in neuron and regulation related biological *** the well-known ASD genes (ScN2A,NF1,SHANK3,cHD8 etc.),several high confidence genes were highlighted by a series of functional analyses,including cTNND1,DGKZ,LRP1,DDN,ZNF483,NR4A2,SMAD6,INTS1,and MRPL12,with more supported evidence from GO enrichment,expression and network *** also integrated RNA-seq data to analyze the effect of the variants on the gene expression and found 12 genes in the individuals with the related variants had relatively biased *** further presented the clinical phenotypes of the proband carrying the risk genes in both our samples and caucasian samples to show the effect of the risk genes on *** variants in noncoding regions,a total of 74 de novo variants and 30 inherited variants were predicted as pathogenic with high confidence,which were mapped to specific genes or regulatory *** number of de novo variants found in patient was significantly associated with the parents’ages at the birth of the child,and gender with *** also identified small de novo structural variants in ASD *** results in this study provided important evidence for understanding the genetic mechanism of ASD.

Ultraviolet(UV)radiation poses risks to both human health and *** response to the urgent demand for UV-shielding across various applications,extensive endeavors have been dedicated to developing UV-shielding materials spanning from wide-bandgap semiconductors to organo-inorganic composite ***,existing UV shielding materials,though suitable for daily use,cannot meet the demands of extreme *** this work,we incorporated ceO_(2)as a UV absorber into Y_(2)O_(3)transparent ceramics for *** effect of ceO_(2)concentration on the optical,mechanical,and thermal properties of Y_(2)O_(3)ceramics was systematically *** findings indicate that ceO_(2)serves not only as a UV absorber but also as an effective sintering aid for Y_(2)O_(3)transparent *** 5 at%ce-doped Y_(2)O_(3)transparent ceramics exhibit the optimal optical quality,with in-line transmittance of~77%at 800 *** introduction of ce shifted the UV cutoff edge of Y_(2)O_(3)transparent ceramics from 250 to 375 nm,which was attributed to the visible band absorption of ce^(4+).This shift grants UV shielding capabilities to Y_(2)O_(3)transparent ceramics,resulting in 100%shielding for ultraviolet c(UVc,100-280 nm)and ultraviolet B(UVB,280-320 nm)and~95%shielding for ultraviolet A(UVA,320-400 nm).The service stability(optical properties)under various corrosive conditions(acid,alkali,UV irradiation,and high temperature)was investigated,confirming the excellent stability of this transparent ceramic UV-shielding material.A comparison of the performance parameters of transparent ceramics with those of traditional UV shielding materials such as glasses,films,and coatings was *** work provides innovative design concepts and an effective solution for UVshielding materials for extreme conditions.

The biosynthesis of isoprene offers a more sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-based approaches,yet its success has been largely limited to pure organic compounds and the cost remains a *** study proposes a waste-to-wealth strategy for isoprene biosynthesis utilizing genetically engineered *** bacteria to convert organic waste from real food *** impact of organic compounds present in wastewater on *** growth and isoprene production was systematically *** results demonstrated that with filtration pretreatment of wastewater,isoprene yield,and production achieved 115 mg/g cOD and 7.1 mg/(L·h),***,even without pretreatment,isoprene yield only decreased by~24%,indicating promising ***,maltose,glycerol,and lactate are effective substrates for isoprene biosynthesis,whereas starch,protein,and acetate do not support *** *** optimum c/N ratio for isoprene production was found to be 8:***,augmenting essential nutrients in wastewater elevated the isoprene yield increased to 159 mg/g *** wastewater biosynthesis significantly reduced the cost(44%–53%decrease,p-valuecO_(2)emission(46%–55%decrease,p-valuecompared with both sugar fermentation and fossil fuel–based *** study introduced a more sustainable and economically viable approach to isoprene synthesis,offering an avenue for resource recovery from wastewater.

The layer Hall effect describes electrons spontaneously deflected to opposite sides at different layers, which has been experimentally reported in the MnBi2Te4thin films under perpendicular electric fields. Here, we reveal a universal origin of the layer Hall effect in terms of the so-called hidden Berry curvature, as well as material design principles. Hence, it gives rise to zero Berry curvature in momentum space but non-zero layer-locked hidden Berry curvature in real space. We show that, compared to that of a trivial insulator, the layer Hall effect is significantly enhanced in antiferromagnetic topological insulators. Our universal picture provides a paradigm for revealing the hidden physics as a result of the interplay between the global and local symmetries, and can be generalized in various scenarios.

In this article, we investigate the nonrelativistic quantum motion of a charged particle within a rotating frame, taking into account the Aharonov–Bohm(AB) effect and a uniform magnetic field. Our analysis entails the derivation of the equation of motion and the corresponding radial equation to describe the system. Solving the resulting radial equation enables us to determine the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, providing a clear expression for the energy levels. Furthermore,our numerical analysis highlights the substantial influence of rotation on both energy levels and optical properties. Specifically, we evaluate the photoionization cross-section with and without the effects of rotation. To elucidate the impact of rotation on the photoionization process of the system, we present graphics that offer an appealing visualization of the intrinsic nature of the physics involved.

The frequent detection of pharmaceutical compounds in the environment has led to a growing awareness,which may pose a major threat to the aquatic *** this study,photodegradation(direct and indirect photolysis)of two different dissociation states of fluoxetine(Flu)was investigated in water,mainly including the determination of photolytic transition states and products,and the mechanisms of indirect photodegradation with·OH,cO_(3)^(*-)and NO_(3)^(*).The main direct photolysis pathways are defluorination and c–c bond *** addition,the indirect photodegradation of Flu in water is mainly through the reactions with·OH and NO_(3)^(*),and the photodegradation reaction with cO_(3)^(*-)is relatively difficult to occur in the water *** results provide a theoretical basis for understanding the phototransformation process of Flu in the water environment and assessing its potential risk.
