In many songbird species,birdsong features phonological syntax,meaning that the units within their vocal se-quences are ordered in a non-random way that adheres to a *** such syntactical patterns have been richly described in many species,comparatively little is known about how those patterns contribute to song achieving its important *** each of song’s main functions,territorial defense and mate attraction,evidence of a role for syntax is *** species for which syntax has been thoroughly described is the Hermit Thrush(catharus guttatus),which presents song types from their repertoires in a semi-predic.a.le order and,in doing so,rapidly cycle up and down the frequency *** objective of the present study was to explore the importance of song syntax in the Hermit Thrush through a within-subject examination of how measures of syntax,such as the predic.a.ility of song type order within song sequences,shift over the breeding *** hypothesized that,if such syntactical c.a.acteristics are important to breeding behaviour,they would be most prominent at the start of the breeding season when activity assoc.a.ed with territory establishment and mate attraction is most *** revealed that,as predicted,the rigidness of song type ordering within se-quences was highest at the start of the season and declined *** song type sequences were most predic.a.le at the vitally important early part of the breeding season fit our hypothesis that this aspect of song syntax is important to song’s functions related to territory establishment and/or mate *** work will c.a.ify whether that role relates to one of song’s two main functions or serves song transmission in some broader way.

We explore the variable generalized c.a.lygin gas（VGcG） model in the theory of matter creation cosmology within the framework of a spatially homogeneous and isotropic flat Friedmann—Lemai tre—Robertson—Walker space-time. Matter creation cosmology is based on reinterpretation of the energy–momentum tensor in Einstein's field equations. This creation corresponds to an irreversible energy flow from the gravitational field to the created matter constituents. The variable c.a.lygin gas（VcG） is also studied as a particular solution. We use the Markov c.a.n Monte carlo method to constrain the free parameters of three models, namely,Lambda-cold-Dark matter（ΛcDM）, VGcG and VcG models with and without matter creation from the latest observational data from baryon acoustic oscillations, cosmic chronometer, type Ia supernovae（pantheon） including gamma-ray bursts, quasars and the local measurement of H0from R21 data. Two different combinations of dataset provide a fairly tight constraint on the parameters of the ΛcDM, VGcG and VcG models. The present values of various cosmological parameters are obtained, which are very close to the ΛcDM model. Furthermore, we perform stability analysis, Bayesian evidence analysis and information criteria analysis for these models through studying the sound speed, Bayes factor, and Akaike information criteria（AIc） and Bayesian information criteria（BIc） selection criteria. The values of sound speed for VGcG and VcG models shows that both the models are stable. According to AIc, it is observed that VGcG and VcG models with matter creation are supported considerably less by current observations,while BIc shows that these models are not favoured by observational data.

The leakage of liquid electrolyte and the formation of lithium dendrites pose c.a.lenges to safety and stability of lithium metal batteries(LMBs).The appearance of gel polymer electrolyte(GpE)has obviously improved the safety of traditional ***,the limited inhibition of GpE on lithium dendrites is detrimental to the safety of ***,a kind of poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene)(pVDF-HFp)/gelatin(GN)GpE with high ionic conductivity,high-temperature resistance,and flame-retardancy,was prepared by electrospinning and soaking *** the electrospinning network of pVDF-HFp,its affinity to liquid electrolytes,makes this GpE more benefic.a. to ions transport and the formation of ***,the GN with sol–gel properties,enhances the mec.a.ical property(13.5 Mpa)of HFp-GN ***,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(Xps)and density functional theory(DFT)suggest that the attraction of polar groups of GN to Li+can regulate the distribution of Li+and protect Li ***,the application of HFp-GN GpEs to LMBs with cathodes of LiFepO_(4) and LicoO_(2) deliver excellent electrochemical performances:after 300 cycles,the LiFepO_(4)/HFp-GN GpE/Li battery keeps a low capacity decay rate of 0.09%at 5 c.a.ter 400 cycles at 2 c,the LicoO_(2)/HFp-GN GpE/Li cell retains a high capacity retention of 74%.This GpE is demonstrated for the application prospect of safe LMBs.

shorebird populations are declining worldwide,mainly due to human disturbances and loss of c.a.tal ***,supratidal habitats as saltpans could play a role in buffering human *** have shown to be important as feeding or breeding sites of some shorebird species.A potential conservation strategy to increase shorebird populations in saltpans is to manipulate the cues that birds use to select optimal breeding *** it is hypothesized that shorebirds are attracted to bivalve shells due to the advantages they *** this hypothesis,we supplemented a restored saltpan in 2019 and 2021 with bivalve shells,expecting an increase in the number of breeding birds’ *** than 75% of Kentish plover(c.a.adrius alexandrinus) and Little Tern(sternula albifrons) nests were found in patches with shells in both *** best model for both species indicates that the presence of shells is the factor that most correlates with the location of *** probability of choosing one place over another to settle their nest increases in areas with an abundance of shells,double in the case of the Kentish plover and triple in the case of the Little *** result of this study may constitute a valuable tool for attracting birds to restored saltpans and could contribute to the success of expensive restoration projects where time is usually a constraint.

Meso-Neoarchean fuchsite quartzites are present in different stratigraphic positions of Dharwar c.a.on including the oldest(~3.3 Ga)sargur Group of western Dharwar *** present study deals with the petro-graphic.a.d geochemical c.a.acteristics of the fuchsite quartzites from the Ghattihosahalli belt to evaluate their genesis,depositional setting and the enigma involved in the ancient sedimentation *** major mineral assemblages include quartz,fuchsite,and feldspars along with accessory kyanite and *** geochemical com-positions are c.a.acterized by high siO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),low MgO,caO,strongly enriched cr(1326–6899 ppm),Ba(1165–3653 ppm),sr(46–210 ppm),V(107–868 ppm)and Zn(11–158 ppm)contents compared to the upper continental crust(Ucc).The Ucc normalized rare earth element(REE)patterns are c.a.acterized by depleted light REE[(La/sm)Ucc=0.33–0.95]compared to heavy REE[(Gd/Yb)_(Ucc)=0.42–1.65]with conspicuous positive Eu-anomalies(Eu/Eu^(*)=1.35–18.27)c.a.acteristic of hydrothermal solutions evidenced through the interlayered *** overall major and trace element systematics reflect a combined mafic-felsic provenance and suggest their deposition at a passive continental margin *** comprehensivefield,petrographic.a.d geo-chemical studies indicate that these quartzites are infiltrated by cr-richfluids released during high-grade metamorphism of assoc.a.ed ultramafic *** sargur and the subse-quent Dharwar orogeny amalgamated diverse lithounits from different tectonic settings,possibly leading to the release of cr-richfluids and the formation of fuchsite quartzite during or after the *** sug-gest a pre-existing stable crust prior to the sargur Group and the link between orogenic events and various mineral deposits in the Dharwar c.a.on.
