Demand response has been recognized as a valuable functionality of power systems for mitigating power *** paper proposes a hierarchical control strategy among the distribution system operator(DSo),load aggregators(LAs),and thermostatically controlled loads(TcLs);the strategy includes a scheduling layer and an executive layer to provide load *** the scheduling layer,the DSo(leader)offers compensation price(cP)strategies,and the LAs(followers)respond to cP strategies with available regulation power(ARP)*** of the DSo and LAs are modeled according to their behaviors during the load regulation *** game is adopted to capture interactions among the players and leader and to obtain the optimal strategy for each participant to achieve ***,considering inevitable random factors in practice,e.g.,renewable generation and behavior of users,two different stochastic models based on sample average approximation(SAA)and parameter modification are formulated with improved scheduling *** the executive layer,distributed TcLs are triggered based on strategies determined in the scheduling layer.A self-triggering method that does not violate user privacy is presented,where TcLs receive external signals from the LA and independently determine whether to alter their operation *** simulations are performed on the modified IEEE-24 bus system to verify effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

With deployment of measurement units,fitting static equivalent models of distribution networks(DNs)by linear regression has been recognized as an effective method in power flow analysis of a transmission *** volatility of measurements caused by variable distributed renewable energy sources makes it more difficult to accurately fit such equivalent *** tackle this challenge,this letter proposes a novel data-driven method to improve equivalency accuracy of DNs with distributed energy *** letter provides a new perspective that an equivalent model can be regarded as a mapping from internal conditions and border voltages to border power *** mapping can be established through 1)Koopman operator theory,and 2)physical features of power flow equations at the root node of a *** of the proposed method is demonstrated on the IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 136-bus test systems connected to a 661-bus utility system.

We present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope H I observations of the high gas-phase metallicity dwarf galaxy WISEA J230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter J2306) and investigate whether it could be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy(TDG) candidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallicities than normal dwarfs. J2306 has an unusual combination of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular optical morphology and high-metallicity(12 +log(o/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy to study in more detail. We find J2306 to be an H I rich galaxy with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H I disk. Using our H I data we estimated its dynamical mass and found the galaxy to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H I radius. The quantity of DM, inferred from its dynamical mass, appears to rule out J2306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment search reveals J2306 to be isolated from any larger galaxies which could have been the source of its high gas metallicity. Additionally, the H I morphology and kinematics of the galaxy show no indication of a recent merger to explain the *** detailed optical spectroscopic observations of J2306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly ordinary irregular dwarf galaxy achieved such a high level of metal enrichment.

Gravity models given by higher-order scalar curvature corrections are believed to bear important consequences. Einstein-Bel-Robinson (EBR) gravity with quartic curvature modification motivated Sajadi et al. to explore static spherically symmetric black hole solutions using perturbative methods. In this study, inspired by their work, we investigate AdS black hole shadows in EBR gravity and demonstrate how the gravity parameter alters the energy emission rate. Finally, we address the same problem in the presence of plasma, because the black holes are thought to be surrounded by a medium that changes the geodesic of photons.

Wellbore instability and sand production are all common challenges in the Niger Delta oil province,resulting in high drilling and production cost as well as damage to oil *** vulnerability of lithologic formations to wellbore instability and resultant sand production is investigated in the four delineated reservoirs of the“Areo”field,western part of Niger Delta *** foundation for establishing the geomechanical properties in this study was a 1-dimensional mechanical earth model,using gamma ray(GR),density(RHoB),compressional slowness(DTc),and shear slowness(DTS)*** the Areo oil field,two wells(well 001 and well 002)were *** evaluated formations are still primarily composed of compacted shale and unconsolidated sandstone,with reservoir sand units exhibiting lower elastic and rock strength properties than shale *** compressibility and porosity make sand more brittle,while low compressibility and porosity make shale stiffer due to high *** maximum force that can be applied to a shale unit without causing it to fail is 17.23 MPa,which is the maximum average rock strength of the *** means that shale requires more vertical stress or pressure than sand does in order to deform it(15.06 MPa).The three sand prediction approaches used in the analysis of sand production predictions have cut-off values that are higher than the average values of the *** Schlumberger sand production index method(S/I)indicates that the reservoir has potential for sand influx in the two wells,with the average of the four reservoirs studied in wells 001 and 002 being 1.551012 psi and 1.141012 psi ***,when a formation's sand production index is less than 1.241012 psi,as it is in this study,the formation is likely to produce *** findings support the notion that the defined sandstone units are highly unconsolidated and have a high potential for producing sands;therefore,sand control techniques must be factored in

Background: Physical inactivity is a major public health problem worldwide that results in physical and mental health problems. one major issue for physical inactivity is weight stigma (WS), especially perceived WS, which could lead to a tendency to avoid physical activity (PA). To better understand the association between perceived WS and PA, knowledge of the likely mediators in this association such as weight bias internalization (WBI) and psychological distress were investigated in the present study. Methods: Using a two-wave longitudinal study and convenient sampling, 388 Taiwanese participants (55% females; mean age = 29.7 years [SD ± 6.3]) completed two surveys six months apart. Body mass index (BMI), Perceived Weight Stigma Scale (PWSS), Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS), Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale (DASS-21), and Tendency to Avoid Physical Activity and Sport Scale (TAPAS) were assessed. Results: A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 bootstrapping resamples was performed. Perceived WS exerted significant direct effects on WBI (β = 0.25; p ychological distress (β = 0.15; p = 0.003), and tendency to avoid PA (β =0.10;p = 0.027); WBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA (β = 0.47; p ct effects of WBI and psychological distress on the association between perceived WS and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01, respectively. conclusion: Given the direct association of perceived WS on the tendency to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this association, interventions addressing perceived WS and WBI may contribute to promoting PA. Therefore, health interventionists (both when planning and executing PA programs) need to consider weight stigmawhen encouraging physical activity. © 2024 The Authors.
