Nitrification,a central proc.s. in the marine nitrogen cycle,produc.s.regenerated nitrate in the euphotic zone and emits N_(2)O,a potent greenhouse gas as a *** regulatory mechanisms of nitrification in the southern Ocean,which is a critical region for cO_(2)sequestration and radiative benefits,remain poorly ***,we investigated the in situ and dark nitrification rates in the upper 500 m and conducted substrate kinetics experiments across the Indian sector in the c.s.onaut and cooperation seas in the late austral *** findings indicate that light inhibition of nitrification decreases exponentially with depth,exhibiting a light threshold of 0.53%photosynthetically active radiation.A positive relationship between dark nitrification and apparent oxygen utilization suggests a dependence on substrate availability from primary ***,an increased NH_(4)^(+) supply can act as a buffer against photo-inhibitory ***,substrate affinity(α)increases with depth and transitions from light to dark,decreases with increasing ambient NH_(4)^(+)and exhibits a latitudinal distribution,reflecting substrate utilization *** also reveal that upwelling in circumpolar Deep Water(cDW)stimulates nitrification through the introduction of potentially higher iron and deep diverse nitrifying microorganisms with higherα.We conclude that although light is the primary limiting factor for nitrification in summer,coupling between substrate availability and cDW upwelling can overcome this limitation,thereby alleviating photoinhibition by up to 45%±5.3%.

Globally,various types of pollution affect coastal waters as a result of human *** and biostimulation are effective methods for treating water ***,few studies have explored the response of coastal prokaryotic and eukaryotic communities to bioaugmentation and ***,a 28-day outdoor mesoc.s. experiment with two treatments(bioaugmentation-A and combined treatment of bioaugmentation and biostimulation-As)and a control(untreated-c)were carried *** experiment was conducted in Meishan Bay to explore the composition,dynamics,and co-occurrence patterns of prokaryotic and eukaryotic communities in response to the A and As using 16s rRNA and 18s rRNA gene amplicon *** treatment,Gammaproteobacteria and Epsilonproteobacteria were significantly increased in group As compared to group c,while Flavobacteriia and saprospirae were significantly *** was significantly reduced in As compared to c,while chrysophyta was significantly reduced in both As and *** to c,the principal response curve analyses of the prokaryotic and eukaryotic communities both showed an increasing trend followed by a decreasing trend for ***,the trends of prokaryotic and eukaryotic communities in group A were similar to those in group As compared with group c,but As changed them more than A *** to the species weight table on principal response curves,a significant increase was observed in beneficial bacteria in prokaryotic communities,such as Rhodobacterales and Oceanospirillales,along with a decrease in autotrophs in eukaryotic communities,such as chrysophyta and *** properties of network analysis reveal that A and As complicate the interactions between the prokaryotic and eukaryotic ***,these findings expand our understanding of the response pattern of the bioaugmentation and biostimulation on coastal prokaryotic and eukaryotic communities.

significant challenges are posed by the limitations of gas sensing mechanisms for trace-level detection of ammonia(NH3).In this study,we propose to exploit single-atom catalytic activation and targeted adsorption properties to achieve highly sensitive and selective NH3 gas ***,Ni singleatom active sites based on N,c coordination(Ni-N-c)were interfacially confined on the surface of two-dimensional(2D)MXene nanosheets(Ni-N-c/Ti_(3)c_(2)Tx),and a fully flexible gas sensor(MNPE-Ni-N-c/Ti_(3)c_(2)Tx)was *** sensor demonstrates a remarkable response value to 5 ppm NH3(27.3%),excellent selectivity for NH3,and a low theoretical detection limit of 12.1 *** analysis by density functional calculation reveals that the Ni single-atom center with N,c coordination exhibits specific targeted adsorption properties for ***,its catalytic activation effect effectively reduc.s.the Gibbs free energy of the sensing elemental reaction,while its electronic.s.ructure promotes the spill-over effect of reactive oxygen species at the gas-solid *** sensor has a dual-channel sensing mechanism of both chemical and electronic.s.nsitization,which facilitates efficient electron transfer to the 2D MXene conductive network,resulting in the formation of the NH3 gas molecule sensing ***,the passivation of MXene edge defec.s.by a conjugated hydrogen bond network enhanc.s.the long-term stability of MXene-based electrodes under high humidity *** work achieves highly sensitive room-temperature NH3 gas detection based on the catalytic mechanism of Ni single-atom active center with N,c coordination,which provides a novel gas sensing mechanism for room-temperature trace gas detection research.

Our previous study found that feeding with Lactobacillus plantarum Ep-M17 could effectively affect the growth performance,immune response,and gut microbiota of Penaeus ***,high temperature and pressure during feed pelletizing is the main problem that can lead to a decrease in the activity of probiotics or cause their *** investigation needs to investigate whether inactivated Ep-M17 can exert similar effec.s.as live ***,we evaluated the effec.s.of inactivated *** Ep-M17 on growth performance,immune response,disease resistance,and gut microbiota in *** show that adding inactivated Ep-M17 to the feed also promoted body weight gain and increased relative immune protection in ***,histological examination revealed that the administration of inactivated Ep-M17 led to improvements in the density and distribution of microvilli in the intestines and enhancements in the abundance of B and R cells in the ***,the inactivated Ep-M17 supplementation resulted in increased activity levels of nutrient immune-related enzymes in both the shrimp hepatopancreas and ***,it stimulated the expression of Lvlec,PEN-3a,crustin,LGBP,Lysozyme,and proPo genes in both the hepatopancreas and ***,the inactivated Ep-M17 also increased bacterial diversity in the gut of shrimp and promoted the abundance of specific flora,facilitating the host organism’s metabolism and immunity to improve the disease resistance of ***,supplementation of inactivated *** Ep-M17 in shrimp diets can exert similar effec.s.as live *** Ep-M17 effectively improving growth performance,gut microbiota,immune response,and disease resistance in ***.

Background Oils are important sourc.s.of energy in pig *** combination of oils with different degree of saturation contributes to improve the utilization efficiency of the mixed oils and may reduce the c.s. of oil *** experiment was conducted to evaluate the effec.s.of oils with different degree of saturation on the fat digestibility and corresponding additivity and bacterial community in growing *** Eighteen crossbred(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire)barrows(initial body weight:29.3±2.8 kg)were surgically fitted with a T-cannula in the distal *** experimental diets included a fat-free basal diet and 5 oil-added *** 5 oil-added diets were formulated by adding 6%oil with different ratio of unsaturated to saturated fatty acids(U:s)to the basal *** 5 oils were palm oil(U:s=1.2),canola oil(U:s=12.0),and palm oil and canola oil were mixed in different proportions to prepare a combination of U:s of 2.5,3.5 and 4.5,*** The apparent and standardized ileal digestibility(AID and sID)of fat and fatty acids increased linearly(Ps the U:s of dietary oils increased except for sID of fat and c18:*** AID and sID of fat and fatty acids differed among the dietary treatments(Pcept for sID of unsaturated fatty acids(UFA)and c18:*** one-slope broken-line analyses for the sID of fat,saturated fatty acids(sFA)and UFA indicated that the breakpoint for U:s of oil was 4.14(R^(2)=0.89,PsID of fat,c18:1,c18:2 and UFA in the mixtures was not different from the calculated sID of fat,c18:1,c18:2 and ***,the determined sID of c16:0,c18:0 and sFA in the mixtures were greater than the calculated sID values(Pce of Romboutsia and Turicibacter in pigs fed diet containing palm oil was greater than that in rapeseed oil treatment group,and the two bacteria were negatively correlated with sID of c16:0,c18:0 and sFA(P<0.05).
