Adsorption characteristics of copper ion on nanoporous silica

Adsorption by nanoporous media is critically involved in many fundamental geological and geochemical processes including chemical weathering,element migration and enrichment,environmental pollution,***,the adsorption behavior of metal ions on nanoporous materials has not been systematically *** this study,McM-41 material with a monodisperse pore size(4.4 nm)and a large BET specific surface area(839 m^2/g)was hydrothermally prepared and used as a model silica adsorbent to study the adsorption characteristics of cu^2+as a representative metal *** cu^2+adsorption capacity was found to increase with increasing suspension pH in the range from 3 to 5 and to decrease in the presence of *** 25℃,pH=5,and a solid-to-liquid ratio of 5 g/L,the adsorption capacity was determined to be 0.29 mg/g,which can be converted to a dimensionless partition coefficient of 45,indicating a strong enriching effect of nanoporous *** adsorption isotherm and kinetic data were fitted to several commonly used thermodynamic,kinetic,and diffusion *** adsorption mechanism was also studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and synchrotron-based X-ray absorption *** results suggest that cu2+ion adsorption is an entropy-driven endothermal process,possibly involving both outer-sphere and inner-sphere complexes.

Spatial and temporal variations of water quality in cao-E River of eastern china

Evaluation and analysis of water quality variations were performed with integrated consideration of water quality parameters, hydrological-meteorologic and anthropogenic factors in cao-E River, Zhejiang Province of china. cao-E River system has been polluted and the water quality of some reaches are inferior to Grade V according to National Surface Water Quality Standard of china （GB2002）. However, mainly polluted indices of each tributary and mainstream are different. Total nitrogen （TN） and total phosphorus （TP） in the water are the main polluted indices for mainstream that varies from 1.52 to 45.85 mg/L and 0.02 to 4.02 mg/L, respectively. TN is the main polluted indices for Sub-watershed Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ（0.76 to 18.27 mg/L）. BOD5 （0.36 to 289.5 mg/L）, cODMn （0.47 to 78.86 mg/L）, TN （0.74 to 31.09 mg/L） and TP （0 to 3.75 mg/L） are the main polluted indices for Sub-watershed Ⅲ. There are tow pollution types along the river including nonpoint source pollution and point source pollution types. Remarkably temporal variations with a few spatial variations occur in nonpoint pollution type reaches （including mainstream, Sub-watershed Ⅰ and Ⅱ） that mainly drained by arable field and/or dispersive rural dwelling district, and the maximum pollutant concentration appears in flooding seasons. It implied that the runoff increases the pollutant concentration of the water in the nonpoint pollution type reaches. On the other hand, remarkably spatial variations occur in the point pollution type reaches （include Sub-watershed Ⅲ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ） and the maximum pollutant concentration appears in urban reaches. The runoff always decreases the pollutant concentration of the river water in the seriously polluted reaches that drained by industrial point sewage. But for the point pollution reaches resulted from centralized town domestic sewage pipeline and from frequent shipping and digging sands, rainfall always increased the concentration of pollutant （TN） in the river water too. Association between complementary factor H Y402H polymorphisms and age-related macular degeneration in chinese: Systematic review and meta-analysis

AIM: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in the developed world and complement factor H (cFH) polymorphism has been found to associate with the AMD. To investigate whether the Y402H variant in cFH is associated with AMD in chinese populations, a systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to estimate the magnitude of the gene effect and the possible mode of action. METHODS: A meta-analysis was performed using data available from ten case-control studies assessing association between the cFH Y402H polymorphism and AMD in chinese populations involving 1538 AMD. Data extraction and study quality assessment were performed in duplicate. Summary odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (cIs) an allele contrast and genotype contrast were estimated usingfixed- effects models. The Q-statistic test was used to assess heterogeneity, and Funnel plot was used to evaluate publication bias. RESULTS: Seven of ten case-control studies were neovascular AMD, and few studies came from west and north of china. There was strong evidence for association between cFH and AMD in chinese population, with those having risk allele c 2.35 times more likely to have AMD than subjects with T allele. Evidence of publication bias was not observed in our meta-analysis. cONcLUSION: This meta-analysis summarizes the strong evidence for an association between cFH and AMD in chinese and indicates each c allele increasing the odds of AMD by 2.33-fold. But more evidences about the relation between cFH polymorphism and different type of chinese AMD from various district were needed.

Effects of regulated deficit irrigation on the growth and berry composition of cabernet Sauvignon in Ningxia

The adoption of water-saving irrigation strategies is required particularly for wine grape variety,which has been widely cultivated in arid and semiarid *** assess vine response to regulated deficit irrigation(RDI),the grape growth and berry composition under five treatments that irrigated at a certain percentage of the crop evapotranspiration(ET c)were evaluated over a 3-year period in a vineyard with the grape variety of cabernet *** results indicated that RDI had a significant effect on the grape berry size and *** largest berry size(12.20 mm)was obtained under the T50 in 2014,while the smallest berry size(9.83 mm)one was obtained under the cK treatments in the same *** highest individual yield occurred in the T50 treatment,with an average of 1.99 kg,followed by the T25-50 ***,both weights were significantly larger than that of the cK *** with the T50 treatments,the individual grape vine yield in the T50-25 treatments were slightly less by 16.9%for 2013,15.3%for 2014 and 18.1%for *** to control(cK)treatment,the soluble solid and reducing sugar contents decreased,the total acid content increased,and the sugar/acid ratio basically showed a downward *** treatment irrigated at 50%ET c until veraison and 25%thereafter(T50-25)increased the phenolic compound content in grape *** treatment received only rain water during the grape growing season(cK)and the one irrigated at 25%of the ET_(c) crop evapotranspiration(T25)caused defoliation and negatively affected the yields and grape composition during all 3 ***,the RDI not only inhibited the vine vegetative growth but also improved the fruit *** terms of productivity and grape composition,the cabernet Sauvignon grape variety was most sensitive to water stress *** the comprehensive consideration of yield,water-use efficiency and berry composition,the T50-25 treatment was the most efficient irrigation strategy in t

Two low-cost synthesis routes have been developed to fabricate carbon-coated Li4Ti5O12 by using H2TiO3 instead of anatase TiO2 as Ti source through solid-state reaction process. One route is a direct solid mixture of H2TiO3, Li2cO3 and pitch followed by high-temperature solid-state reaction. The other includes mixture of H2TiO3 and Li2cO3 with pitch dissolved in furanidine under vacuum and the same solid-state reaction procedure is followed after the mixture is totally dried. Microstructural investigations indicate that H2TiO3 exhibits secondary aggregates morphology with primary particle sizes of 10-20 nm. carbon-coating layers with thickness of 2-3 nm have been observed on Li4Ti5O12 synthesized by the two routes. cyclic performance, rate capability and electrochemical impedance spectrum of the two Li4Ti5O12/c composites have been performed, which indicate that Li4Ti5O12/c obtained by furanidine-assisted mixture exhibits better electrochemical performance than Li4Ti5O12/c synthesized by direct solid mixture. The possible reasons have been discussed. The low-cost synthesis routes of Li4Ti5O12/c using H2TiO3 as Ti source are expected to be more competitive than the traditional one for practical applications.

A novel method for the spectrophotometric determination of cefradine by using sodium nitroprusside as chromogenic reagent

A novel method is developed for the determination of cefradine by using sodium nitroprusside as chromogenic reagent. The experiment indicates that a russety product is formed by the reaction of cefradine with sodium nitroprusside in basic solution, and the maximum absorption wavelength （λmax） of russety product is 505 rim. And the sensitization of tetradecyl benzyl dimethyl ammonium chloride for the reaction of cefradine with sodium nitroprusside is remarkable, The apparent molar absorption coefficient （5505） is 2.81 × 103 L/mol cm. The linear equation isA = 0.0657 ＋ 0.00804c （μg/mL） in the range of 1.50-55.0μg/mL of cefradine with a correlation coefficient r = 0.9992, and the detection limit is 1.38 p,g/mL. This method has been applied to determine cefradine in capsule and tablet samples.

comparative Analysis of Three Types of Peaches:Identification of the Key Individual characteristic Flavor compounds by Integrating consumers' Acceptability with Flavor Quality

In order to recognize the key flavor compounds influencing the consumers' choice for honey peach, nectarine, and flat peach and provide important information for orientation breeding, sugars, organic acids, and aroma volatiles in 3 types of peaches were examined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLc) and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry(Gc–MS) and their key individual characteristic flavor compounds were identified by multivariate analysis integrated with consumers' evaluation. No significant differences in sugar and organic acid were observed between 3 types of peaches. In hierarchical clustering analysis(HcA) and principal component analysis(PcA)models, 3 types of peaches could not be differentiated by sugars or organic acids, but could be identified completely by aroma volatiles or by flavor compounds. A partial least squares regression(PLSR) model revealed that the key individual characteristic volatiles in nectarine, honey peach, and flat peach are c9 compounds and terpenic compounds, norisoprenoids and c6 compounds, and benzaldehyde, γ-decalactone, andδ-dodecalactone, respectively. These results suggest that sugars and organic acids form the background flavor of peach fruit and lactones shape the typical peach aroma. However, the individual aroma volatiles play the decisive role in unique flavor determination of different types of peaches.

Phosphorous-Based Pillar[5]arenes for Uranyl Extraction

One phosphine oxide-based pillar[5]arene 1a and two novel phosphorous-based pillar[5]arenes 1b and 1c were synthesized for use as extractants in solvent extraction of 22UO+.The results from host-guest interactions pertinent to the extracted complexes of 1a-1c revealed a significant difference in complexation capability between 1a and 1b(or 1c)by using 1H NMR,31P NMR and FT-IR *** extraction of 22UO+in separate extraction sys-tem and in simulated nuclear industry effluent containing 12 competing ions demonstrated the superior efficiency and selectivity of 1a towards 22UO+over other cations in acidic ***-log plot analysis indicated the 1∶1 stoichiometry(ligand/metal)for the extracted complex formed between the ligand and 22UO+.
