Intestinal anti-inflammatory effect of a plant sterol food supplement in experimental murine colitis and cell co-culture models

The potential of a plant sterol food supplement （PS-FS） in addressing intestinal inflammation in vivo and in vitro was evaluated. As in vivo model， c57BL/6J mice were exposed to 1.5% dextran sulfate sodium in three 5-day periods， with 10-day rest intervals in between， daily reciving PS-FS （35 mg PS/kg）. The in vitro approach involved a bi-cameral system with 8-day-differentiated caco-2 （apical） and RAW264.7 cells （basolateral）. The bioaccessible fraction of PS-FS， obtained after InFOGEST 2.0 simulated gastrointestinal digestion， was added to the apical part （90 min）， followed by stimulation with lipopolysaccharide （1 μg/mL， 24 h）. PS-FS alleviated rectal bleeding and rebalanced pro- (tumor necrosis factor α， interleukin （IL）-6， and IL-8) and anti-inflammatory cytokines （IL-10）. Additionally， PS-FS ameliorated histopathological damage and enhancing occludin expression. A reduction in oxidative stress was evidenced by decreased myeloperoxidase activity and reactive oxygen species production. The anti-inflammatory mechanism included suppressing cyclooxygenase 2 expression， reducing prostaglandin E2production， and inhibiting the phosphorylation and nuclear translocation of the nuclear factor κB p65 subunit. This study reveals the potential of PS-FS as a therapeutic intervention for colitis. The alignment between in vivo and in vitro outcomes substantiates the appropriateness of the co-culture model to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of foods.

Geochemistry and depositional environment of fuchsite quartzites from Sargur Group,western Dharwar craton,India

Meso-neoarchean fuchsite quartzites are present in different stratigraphic positions of Dharwar craton including the oldest(~3.3 Ga)Sargur Group of western Dharwar *** present study deals with the petro-graphic and geochemical characteristics of the fuchsite quartzites from the Ghattihosahalli belt to evaluate their genesis,depositional setting and the enigma involved in the ancient sedimentation *** major mineral assemblages include quartz,fuchsite,and feldspars along with accessory kyanite and *** geochemical com-positions are characterized by high SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),low MgO,caO,strongly enriched cr(1326–6899 ppm),Ba(1165–3653 ppm),Sr(46–210 ppm),V(107–868 ppm)and Zn(11–158 ppm)contents compared to the upper continental crust(Ucc).The Ucc normalized rare earth element(REE)patterns are characterized by depleted light REE[(La/Sm)Ucc=0.33–0.95]compared to heavy REE[(Gd/Yb)_(Ucc)=0.42–1.65]with conspicuous positive Eu-anomalies(Eu/Eu^(*)=1.35–18.27)characteristic of hydrothermal solutions evidenced through the interlayered *** overall major and trace element systematics reflect a combined mafic-felsic provenance and suggest their deposition at a passive continental margin *** comprehensivefield,petrographic,and geo-chemical studies indicate that these quartzites are infiltrated by cr-richfluids released during high-grade metamorphism of associated ultramafic *** Sargur and the subse-quent Dharwar orogeny amalgamated diverse lithounits from different tectonic settings,possibly leading to the release of cr-richfluids and the formation of fuchsite quartzite during or after the *** sug-gest a pre-existing stable crust prior to the Sargur Group and the link between orogenic events and various mineral deposits in the Dharwar craton.

HI in High Gas-phase Metallicity Dwarf Galaxy WISEA J230615.06+143927.9

We present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope H I observations of the high gas-phase metallicity dwarf galaxy WISEA J230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter J2306) and investigate whether it could be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy(TDG) candidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallicities than normal dwarfs. J2306 has an unusual combination of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular optical morphology and high-metallicity(12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy to study in more detail. We find J2306 to be an H I rich galaxy with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H I disk. Using our H I data we estimated its dynamical mass and found the galaxy to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H I radius. The quantity of DM, inferred from its dynamical mass, appears to rule out J2306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment search reveals J2306 to be isolated from any larger galaxies which could have been the source of its high gas metallicity. Additionally, the H I morphology and kinematics of the galaxy show no indication of a recent merger to explain the *** detailed optical spectroscopic observations of J2306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly ordinary irregular dwarf galaxy achieved such a high level of metal enrichment.

The research presented in this paper discusses the impact that the parameters of charge(Q)and screening factor(γ)have on properties of the horizon and silhouette of rotating charged Mod Max black holes which were reviewed in[***.J.c(2022)82:1155]recently,building upon previous findings in the ***,the study explores the behavior of null geodesics,which can help us better understand the apparent shape of the black hole’s silhouette,as well as the distortion parameter and approximate radii of the silhouette that are influenced by the aforementioned parameters,and there are some values of parameter Q which corresponds to data from the Event Horizon Telescope(EHT).notably,we explore the distortion parameter and approximate radii of the silhouette,revealing that while an increase inγleads to a growth in silhouette radius(Rs),it simultaneously reduces the distortion rate(δs).conversely,heightened Q charge results in a reduction of Rsaccompanied by an increase inδ***,the paper analyzes the effects of the black hole’s parameters on the effective potential and energy emission:the peak value of the energy emission rate experiences a decrease as the screening factor(γ)increases,while it increases with higher values of the charge parameter(Q).
