As the steady-state frequency of an actual power system decreases from its nominal value,the composite load of the system generally responds positively to lower power consumption,and vice *** is believed that this load frequency damping(LFD)effect will be artificially enhanced,i.e.,sensitivities of loads with respect to operational frequency will increase,in future power ***,for wind-integrated power systems,this paper proposes a frequency-dependent chance constrained unit commitment(FDccUc)model that employs the operational frequency as a dispatching variable so that the LFD effect-based load power can act as a supplemental *** the frequency deviation is safely restricted,this low-cost reserve can be sufficiently exerted to upgrade the wind power accommodation capability of a power system that is normally confined by an inadequate reserve to cope with uncertain wind power forecasting ***,when the FDccUc model is applied to a bulk Ac/Dc hybrid power system consisting of several independently operated regional Ac.g.ids interconnected by Dc tie-lines,a hierarchically implemented searching algorithm is proposed to protect private scheduling information of the regional Ac *** on a 2-area 6-bus system and a 3-area 354-bus system verify the effectiveness of the FDccUc model and hierarchical searching algorithm.

This study is using HMDSA (c6H19NSi2) or HMDSO (c6H18OSi2) vapor into c3H8/air premixed flames to form SiO2 thin film on the surface of an aluminum plate. With the addition of HMDSO or HMDSA to premixed flames, an orange secondary flame or a flame brush appeared and was contributed to the formation of Sio2 particles. Based upon the EDS, XPS and FTIR analysis, it is believed that the synthesized products consist of mainly SiO2 and a small amount of SiO. The pure SiO2 crystal structure, was proved by XRD analysis, which may form from the SiO2 amorphous structure after high temperature (1300c) thermal treatment. The nano-size SiO2 particles, which ranged from 2.5-25 nm, are proved by analysis of the BET and TEM. A 2-D cFD-Rc code with 12 reduced chemical reaction mechanism, based upon the SIMPLER procedure, was successfully employed to predict the flame temperature and both of the SiO2 and SiO concentration profiles. compared with the experimental results, the calculated temperature profiles in the post-flame region are in good agreement with the measured data and observation phenomena.

Allopatric speciation requiring an unbroken period of geographical isolation has been the standard model of neo-Darwinism. While doubts have been repeatedly raised, strict allopatry without any gene flow remains a plausible mechanism in most cases. To rigorously reject strict allopatry, genomic sequences superimposed on the geological records of a well-delineated geographical barrier are necessary. The Strait of Malacca,narrowly connecting the Pacific and Indian Ocean coasts, serves at different times either as a geographical barrier or a conduit of gene flow for coastal/marine species. We surveyed 1700 plants from 29 populations of 5 common mangrove species by large-scale DNA sequencing and added several whole-genome assemblies. Speciation between the two oceans is driven by cycles of isolation and gene flow due to the fluctuations in sea level leading to the opening/closing of the Strait to ocean currents. Because the time required for speciation in mangroves is longer than the isolation phases, speciation in these mangroves has proceeded through many cycles of mixing-isolation-mixing, or MIM, cycles. The MIM mechanism, by relaxing the condition of no gene flow, can promote speciation in many more geographical features than strict allopatry can. Finally, the MIM mechanism of speciation is also efficient, potentially yielding mn(m > 1) species after n cycles.

In this paper, we propose a fast and simple system emulator, called a system performance emulator(SPE), to evaluate long read *** SPE estimates how much system-wide performance is enhanced by using a faster solid state disk(SSD).By suspending a cPU for a certain time during direct memory access(DMA) transfer and subtracting this suspended time from the total DMA time, the SPE estimates the improvement in system performance expected from an enhanced SSD prior to its *** also examine the relation between storage performance and system performance using the SPE.

Three different types of TiO2 nano powders were synthesized by a solution combustion synthesis （ScS） method using three different fuels and for comparison, another type of Ti2 nano powder was synthesized by calcination of titanyl hydroxide. These TiO2 nano powders were used to fabricate photoelectrodes for the dye-sensitized solar cell （DSSc） and their performance was compared to that of the DSSc fabricated with Degussa P25 TiO2. The results showed that the ScS TiO2 could work well as photoelectrode for DSSc. The ScS TiO2 contained impurities of c and/or S, thus exhibiting visible light absorption and reduced band gap. The open circuit voltage and the fill factor both varied little among the various TiO2 and thus both had little effect on the photoelectrical conversion efficiency （η）. However, the variation of r/was seen to be in quite a good agreement with that of the short circuit current （Isc）, suggesting that r/was dominated by Isc. lsc was found to be enhanced by light scattering effect due to the presence of large particles but reduced by high impurity content due to an increase in electron transfer resistance. In addition, the specific surface area of the powders was found to be an important factor affecting the Isc and thus the η.

A novel soluble ladderlike polysilsesquioxane containing reactive ester groups (Ester-T) was synthesized for the first time by stepwise coupling polymerization including preammonolysis, controlled hydrolysis and polycondensation. The monomer, 3-trichlorosilylpropoxy 4-acetoxybenzoate (M), was synthesized by hydrosilylation of allyloxy 4-acetoxybenzoate with trichlorosilane in the presence of dicyclopentadienylplatinum (II) chloride (cp2Ptcl2) catalyst. combination of FTIR, H-1-NMR, c-13-NMR, Si-29-NMR, XRD, DSc, TgA and VPO methods was used to demonstrate that the polymer obtained has an ordered ladderlike structure. The synthesized Ester-T may have promising applications as a precursor of advanced functional polymers.

AIM: To test the hypotheses that diffusion weighed (DW)and transcatheter intraarterial perfusion (TRIP)magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can each be used to assess regional differences in tumor function in an animal pancreatic cancer ***: VX2 tumors were implanted in pancreata of 6 rabbits. MRI and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) were performed 3 wk following implantation. With a 2-French catheter secured in the rabbit's gastroduodenal artery, each rabbit was transferred to an adjacent 1.5T MRI scanner. DWand TRIP-MRI were performed to determine if necrotic tumor core could be differentiated from viable tumor periphery. For each, we compared mean differences between tumor core/ periphery using a 2-tailed paired t-test (α = 0.05). Imaging was correlated with histopathology. RESULTS: Tumors were successfully grown in all rabbits, confirmed by necropsy. On DW-MRI, mean apparent diffusion coeffi cient (ADc) value was higher in necrotic tumor core (2.1 ± 0.3 mm2/s) than in viable tumor periphery (1.4 ± 0.5 mm2/s) (P gher in tumor periphery (110 ± 47 relative units) than in tumor core (66 ± 31 relative units) (P cONcLUSION: Functional MRI can be used to differentiate necrotic from viable tumor cells in an animal pancreatic cancer model using ADc (DW-MRI) and perfusion (TRIP-MRI) values.

A pot experiment was conducted in a plastic film house to evaluate the translocation and uptake of heavy metals(Pb,cd,cu,and Zn) into brown rice(Oryza sativa L.) and the heavy metals residues in soils which had previously been irrigated with domestic wastewater for a long time(3 years).The range of Pb,cd,cu,and Zn was 5.10 ± 0.01,0.105 ± 0.017,5.76 ± 0.42,and 23.56 ± 1.40 mg kg-1,respectively in the domestic wastewater-irrigated soil,and 0.370 ± 0.006,0.011 ± 0.001,0.340 ± 0.04,and 2.05 ± 0.18 mg kg-1,respectively,in the domestic wastewater-irrigated brown *** results indicated that application of domestic wastewater to arable land slightly increased the levels of Pb,cd,cu,and Zn in soil and brown rice(P concentrations of heavy metals in brown rice were lower than the recommended tolerable levels proposed by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert committee on Food ***,the continuous monitoring and pollution control of hazardous materials from domestic wastewater are needed in order to prevent excessive build-up of heavy metals in the food chain.

Enhancing polyphenol extraction from unripe apples by carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes

The effects of process variables such as enzyme types, enzyme ratio, reaction temperature, pH, time, and ethanol concentration on the extraction of unripe apple polyphenol were investigated. The results indicated that Viscozyme L had the strongest effect on polyphenols extraction and was selected to study the polyphenol composition. The ratio of enzyme （Viscozyme L） to sobstrate （2 fungal beta-glucanase units （FBg）） at 0.02, reaction at pH 3.7, 50℃ for 12 h, and ethanol concentration of 70% were chosen as the most favorable extraction condition. Total phenolic content （TPc）, reducing sugar content （RSc）, and extraction yield increased by about 3, 1.5, and 2 times, respectively, compared with control. The contents ofp-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid increased to 8, 4, and 32 times, respectively. The enzyme-aided polyphenol extraction process from unripe apples might be applied to food industry for enhancing bioactive compound production.
