An up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket(UASB)reactor targeting sulfate reduction was operated under a constant TOc/S-SO2-4ratio of 1.5±0.3 g c/g S for 639 days using crude glycerol as carbon source.A filamentous and fluffy flocculant material,namely slime-like substances(SLS),was gradually accumulated in the bioreactor after the cease of methanogenic *** accumulation of SLS was followed by a decrease in the removal efficiencies and a deterioration in the *** characteristics of SLS were investigated to explore the causes of its formation and the effect of SLS on the UASB *** showed that glycerol fermentation and sulfate reduction processes taking place in the reactor were mainly accomplished in the bottom part of the UASB reactor,as the sludge concentration in the bottom was *** accumulation of SLS in the UASB reactor caused sludge flotation that further led to biomass washout,which decreased the sulfate and glycerol removal *** activity tests performed with granular sludge(GS),slime-covered granular sludge(ScGS)and SLS showed that there was no difference between GS and SLS in the mechanism of glycerol fermentation and sulfate ***,the specific sulfate reduction rate of GS was higher than that of SLS,while SLS showed a higher glycerol fermentation rate than that of *** different rates in GS and SLS were attributed to the higher relative abundances of fermentative microorganisms found in SLS and higher relative abundances of sulfate reducing bacteria(SRB)found in GS.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the sperm viability of semen infected with PRRSV viral particles, observing the effect of the Virus on the motility of boar sperm. The work was carried out at the FMVZ-BUAP Genetics and Reproduction Laboratory. 5 stallions were used. Each sample contained 1 × 106 sperm, the PRRS virus strain was ATcc-VR-2332 (0, 102, 104 and 106 copies of RNA/mL in triplicate), it was observed daily at the cASA;Hamilton Thorne®. cells with MT (P ctively. In this study, it was found (P ≤ 0.01) in the VAP with 102 of 77.26 ± 5.16, 104 with 83.35 ± 2.41 and 106 with 81.29 ± 3.14 vs the control with 90.56 ± 2.07. Starting from the importance of preserving our information and protecting our devices against attacks on their vulnerabilities, this article aims to establish the level of knowledge in computer security and problem-solving of students at a university in northwest Mexico. This research has a quantitative approach where the European Framework of Digital competencies for citizenship was used as a reference to identify and establish the level of the competencies that were evaluated. The IKANOS Test was used as a data collection tool. The results show that students know the importance of keeping their devices safe and how valuable the information found on them is. On the other hand, the results also show a considerable percentage of students who do not have the knowledge and are at a basic level of knowledge to solve technical problems with their devices.

Whispering gallery mode (WGM) microlasers are highly sensitive to localized refractive index changes allowing to link their emission spectrum to various chemical, mechanical, or physical stimuli. Microlasers recently found applications in biological studies within single cells, in three-dimensional samples such as multicellular spheroids,or in vivo. However, detailed studies of biological samples also need to account for the structural heterogeneity of tissues and live animals, therefore requiring a combination of high-resolution microscopy and laser ***,we design and construct a light sheet fluorescence microscope with a coupled spectrometer for use in microlaser studies for combined high-resolution, high-speed imaging and WGM spectral analysis. The light sheet illumination profile and the decoupled geometry of excitation and emission hereby directly affect the lasing and sensing properties, mainly through geometric constraints and by light coupling effects. We demonstrate the basic working principle of microlaser spectroscopy under light sheet excitation and measure the absolute refractive index within agarose and in zebrafish tail muscle tissue. We further analyze the light coupling conditions that lead to the occurrence of two separate oscillation planes. These so-called cross modes can be scanned around the entire microlaser surface, which allows to estimate a surface-averaged refractive index profile of the microlaser environment.
