c.ntributing to a Healthy.Older Population of the Future: Investigating the Daily.Walking Steps of Working Adults in Hong Kong

Developing a healthy.lifesty.e during adulthood is one of the essential fac.ors to prepare for healthy.aging. This c.oss-sec.ional desc.iptive study.investigated the daily.walking steps of 893 working adults from nine oc.upation c.tegories in Hong Kong. Their daily.walking steps were measured using a pedometer. Analy.is of varianc. (ANOVA) was used to c.mpare the differenc. in daily.walking steps between partic.pants in different oc.upation c.tegory. c.i-square test was used to c.mpare the differenc. in proportion of working adults in eac. oc.upation c.tegory.who walked and did not walk 10,000 steps per day. Results reveal that the partic.pants in average walked 8661 steps per day. “Plant and mac.ine operators and assemblers” and “c.erks” were the two least ac.ive groups. Partic.pants from the nine oc.upation c.tegories demonstrated a signific.nt differenc. in the number of daily.walking steps. Post hoc.analy.is revealed a signific.nt differenc. between “plant and mac.ine operators and assemblers” and “servic. workers and shop sales workers” (p c.ine operators and assemblers” and “c.aft and related workers” (p c.pants from the nine oc.upation c.tegories also demonstrated a signific.nt differenc. in the proportion of those who walked and did not walk 10,000 steps per day. Owing to a large differenc. in number of partic.pants in the nine oc.upation c.tegories and other study.limitations, further sy.tematic.investigation is indic.ted to c.nfirm the study.results. To summarize, working adults in Hong Kong are only.somewhat ac.ive. Identify.ng the fac.ors that deter the working adults from walking and the way. to promote walking among working adults is nec.ssary.to prepare a healthy.older population of the future.

We present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telesc.pe H I observations of the high gas-phase metallic.ty.dwarf galaxy.WISEA J230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter J2306) and investigate whether it c.uld be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy.TDG) c.ndidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallic.ties than normal dwarfs. J2306 has an unusual c.mbination of a blue g-r c.lor of 0.23 mag, irregular optic.l morphology.and high-metallic.ty.12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy.to study.in more detail. We find J2306 to be an H I ric. galaxy.with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H I disk. Using our H I data we estimated its dy.amic.l mass and found the galaxy.to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H I radius. The quantity.of DM, inferred from its dy.amic.l mass, appears to rule out J2306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment searc. reveals J2306 to be isolated from any.larger galaxies whic. c.uld have been the sourc. of its high gas metallic.ty. Additionally. the H I morphology.and kinematic. of the galaxy.show no indic.tion of a rec.nt merger to explain the *** detailed optic.l spec.rosc.pic.observations of J2306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly.ordinary.irregular dwarf galaxy.ac.ieved suc. a high level of metal enric.ment.

The oxidation behavior of Ni-based superalloy.GH4742 exposed to water vapor was investigated at 900-1100℃for 50 h in Ar+20%H_(2)O,with Ar+20%O_(2)inc.uded for *** presenc. of H_(2)O is adverse to formation of c.ntinuous c._(2)O_(3)oxide lay.r but c.ntributes to generation of big *** on this,Ni^(2+)and c.^(2+)are more easily.to diffuse towards the outermost oxide lay.r(OOL),forming non-protec.ive Ni-and c.-ric. oxides with high *** leads to a higher weight gain in Ar+20%H_(2)O than that in Ar+20%O_(2).At elevated temperatures,the spallation of oxide sc.le oc.urs while the c.nsumption of c. is reduc.d in Ar+20%H_(2)O,and the c.ntents of Ni-and c.-ric. oxides at this moment are reduc.d in the *** oxidation mec.anism was also disc.ssed.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluoresc.nc. intensity.ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntrations,energy.transfer(ET)proc.sses suc. as optic.l reabsorption and c.oss-relaxation c.n affec. the Nd^(3+)emission,whic. has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluoresc.nc. thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indic.te a strong dependenc. of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntration,due to c.anges in the emission band profiles c.used by.optic.l reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and c.oss-relaxation proc.sses.A dec.ease of the relative sensitivity.of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity.at 299 K is 3.00%/K,whic. is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.
