Integrins and their potential roles in mammalian pregnanc.

Integrins are a highly c.mplex family of rec.ptors that, when expressed on the surfac. of c.lls, c.n mediate rec.proc.l c.ll-to-c.ll and c.ll-to-extrac.llular matrix(Ec.) interac.ions leading to assembly of integrin adhesion c.mplexes(IAc.) that initiate many signaling func.ions both at the membrane and deeper within the c.toplasm to c.ordinate proc.sses inc.uding c.ll adhesion, migration, proliferation, survival, differentiation, and metabolism. All metazoan organisms possess integrins, and it is generally agreed that integrins were assoc.ated with the evolution of multic.llularity, being essential for the assoc.ation of c.lls with their neighbors and surroundings, during embryonic.development and many aspec.s of c.llular and molec.lar biology. Integrins have important roles in many aspec.s of embryonic.development, normal physiology, and disease proc.sses with a multitude of func.ions disc.vered and eluc.dated for integrins that direc.ly influenc. many areas of biology and medic.ne, inc.uding mammalian pregnanc., in partic.lar implantation of the blastoc.st to the uterine wall, subsequent plac.ntation and c.nc.ptus(embryo/fetus and assoc.ated plac.ntal membranes) development. This review provides a suc.inc. overview of integrin struc.ure, ligand binding, and signaling followed with a c.nc.se overview of embryonic.development, implantation, and early plac.ntation in pigs, sheep, humans, and mic. as an example for rodents. A brief timeline of the initial loc.lization of integrin subunits to the uterine luminal epithelium(LE) and c.nc.ptus trophoblast is then presented, followed by sequential summaries of integrin expression and func.ion during gestation in pigs, sheep, humans, and rodents. As appropriate for this journal, summaries of integrin expression and func.ion during gestation in pigs and sheep are in depth, whereas summaries for humans and rodents are brief. Iso-propyl c.prylate and iso-propyl linolenate synthetic.fluids as novel alternatives in deep-water drilling operations:c.itic.l fluid properties and aerobic.biodegradability assessments

Present drilling fluids for deep water wells have severe degenerative effec. on the environment with high operational and disposal c.sts. Thus, making them less desirable in rec.nt times. Ester synthetic.drilling fluid provides a novel environmentally friendly alternative but c.nventional ester-based drilling fluids exhibit high visc.sities in deep-water wells c.using exc.ssive equivalent c.rc.lating density(Ec.) and inc.eased risk of lost c.rc.lation owing to narrow mud density window. This study experimentally investigates the c.itic.l fluid properties and aerobic.biodegradability potentials of two newly developed deep-water synthetic.ester drilling fluids namely: iso-propyl c.prylate(c.IPE) and iso-propyl linolenate(LOIPE) synthetic.fluids and their c.mparison with synthetic.paraffin(SP-SBF) and isomerized-olefin(IOSBF) synthetic.hydroc.rbon fluids. The esters of iso-propyl c.prylate and iso-propyl linolenate were produc.d from the isolation of ester mixtures that were obtained from the homogeneous c.talytic.transesterific.tion of c.c.nut and linseed plant oil biomass respec.ively. The c.IPE was isolated from the c.c.nut oil iso-propyl ester mixture by low-pressure frac.ional distillation tec.nique. While frac.ional distillation and c.ystallization were used to isolate the LOIPE ester from the linseed oil iso-propyl ester mixture. Meanwhile, the aerobic.biodegradation investigation was c.nduc.ed by a modified oxygen c.nsumption respirometry tec.nique. The Gc.MS analysis of the c.IPE and LOIPE showed that the former c.ntains essentially of lower saturated c.rbon c.mpounds(c.). Whereas the latter c.ntains higher molec.lar weight and unsaturated c.rbon c.mpounds(c.8+). The c.IPE and LOIPE kinematic.visc.sity values are in good agreement with that of the referenc. synthetic.hydroc.rbon fluid samples(SP-SBF and IO-SBF).Although, the c.IPE synthetic.ester has lower visc.sity value owing to the presenc. of shorter c.ain and saturated c.rbon atoms(c. esters). Bloc.c.ain-Based System for Sec.re and Effic.ent c.oss-Border Remittanc.s: A Potential Alternative to SWIFT

This paper proposes a bloc.c.ain-based system as a sec.re, effic.ent, and c.st-effec.ive alternative to SWIFT for c.oss-border remittanc.s. The c.rrent SWIFT system fac.s c.allenges, inc.uding slow settlement times, high transac.ion c.sts, and vulnerability to fraud. Leveraging bloc.c.ain tec.nology’s dec.ntralized, transparent, and immutable nature, the proposed system aims to address these limitations. Key features inc.ude modular arc.itec.ure, implementation of mic.oservic.s, and advanc.d c.yptographic.protoc.ls. The system inc.rporates Proof of Stake c.nsensus with BLS signatures, smart c.ntrac. exec.tion with dynamic.pricing, and a dec.ntralized orac.e network for c.rrenc. c.nversion. A sophistic.ted risk-based authentic.tion system utilizes Bayesian networks and mac.ine learning for enhanc.d sec.rity. Mathematic.l models are presented for c.itic.l c.mponents, inc.uding transac.ion validation, c.rrenc. c.nversion, and regulatory c.mplianc.. Simulations demonstrate potential improvements in transac.ion speed and c.sts. However, c.allenges suc. as regulatory hurdles, user adoption, sc.lability, and integration with legac. systems must be addressed. The paper provides a c.mparative analysis between the proposed bloc.c.ain system and SWIFT, highlighting advantages in transac.ion speed, c.sts, and sec.rity. Mitigation strategies are proposed for key c.allenges. Rec.mmendations are made for further researc. into sc.ling solutions, regulatory frameworks, and user-c.ntric designs. The adoption of bloc.c.ain-based remittanc.s c.uld signific.ntly impac. the financ.al sec.or, potentially disrupting traditional models and promoting financ.al inc.usion in underserved markets. However, suc.essful implementation will require c.llaboration between bloc.c.ain innovators, financ.al institutions, and regulators to c.eate an enabling environment for this transformative system.

BAc.GROUND The assoc.ation between the intestinal mic.obiota and psyc.iatric disorders is bec.ming inc.easingly *** gut mic.obiota c.ntributes to c.lorec.al c.rc.nogenesis(c.c.,as demonstrated with c.libac.in-produc.ng Esc.erichia c.li(c.PEc..AIM To evaluate the assoc.ation between c.PEc.prevalenc. and anxiety-and depressive-like behaviors with both prec.inic.l and c.inic.l *** Patients followed after a c.c.surgery and for whom the prevalenc. of c.PEc.has been investigated underwent a psyc.iatric *** were c.mpared ac.ording to the c.PEc.*** parallel c.7BL6/J wild type mic. and mic. with a c.c.susc.ptibility were c.ronic.lly infec.ed with a c.PEc.*** behavior was assessed using the Elevated Plus Maze test,the Forc.d Swimming Test and the Behavior rec.gnition system PhenoTyper®.RESULTS In a limited c.hort,all patients with c.PEc.c.lonization presented with psyc.iatric disorders several years before c.nc.r diagnosis,whereas only one patient(17%)without c.PEc.*** result was c.nfirmed in c.7BL6/J wildtype mic. and in a c.c.susc.ptibility mouse model(adenomatous polyposis c.limultiple intestinal neoplasia/+).Mic. exhibited a signific.nt inc.ease in anxiety-and depressive-like behaviors after c.ronic.infec.ion with a c.PEc.*** This finding provides the first evidenc. that c.PEc.infec.ion c.n induc. mic.obiota-gut-brain axis disturbanc.s in addition to its proc.rc.nogenic.properties.
