Results of Trans-Urethral Resec.ion of Bladder (TURB) for the Treatment of non-Infiltrating Bladder Tumors (nMIBT) in Musk in Bouake

Bac.ground: bladder tumors rank 2nd among urologic.l tumors in sub-Saharan Afric., partic.larly in c.te d’Ivoire. Objec.ive: to report the results of transurethral resec.ion of the bladder (TURB) for the treatment of non-musc.e-infiltrating bladder tumors (nMIBT) in Bouaké. Patients and methods: we c.nduc.ed a c.oss-sec.ional, desc.iptive study of transurethral resec.ion of the bladder (TURB) for the treatment of non-musc.e-infiltrating bladder tumors (nMIBT) between January 2022 and April 2023. All patients and their families were informed in advanc. and had signed an informed c.nsent form. All patients with a non-musc.e-invasive bladder tumor c.nfirmed by an initial TURB were inc.uded, and patients with a bladder tumor infiltrating the bladder musc.e were exc.uded. Diagnosis was based on c.stosc.py and anatomopathologic.l examination of resec.ion shavings. Parameters studied were: age, sex, risk fac.ors, reason for c.nsultation, c.inic.l signs, c.stosc.py findings, stage, grade, Evolution. Results: 17 patients with a mean age of 53.7 years (22-73 years) underwent trans-ureteral bladder resec.ion to treat a non-musc.e-infiltrating bladder tumor (nMIBT). Male gender predominated with 88.23% (n = 15), the majority of patients c.me from the ME region with 47.05% (n = 8), farmers were the most numerous (52.94%;n = 9). The most frequent reason for c.nsultation was mac.osc.pic.hematuria with 64.1% (n = 11), risk fac.ors were dominated by urinary bilharziasis with 70.58% (n = 12), physic.l examination was normal in 47.05% (n = 8). Hemoglobin (HB) levels were between 7.5 and 8.5 g/dl in 52.94% (n = 9). On c.stosc.py, the tumor was budding in 76.45% (n = 13), the loc.lization was trigonal in 52.9% (n = 9) and the base of implantation was sessile in 70.52% (n = 12). On ultrasound, the tumor was 3 c. or larger in 70.52% (n = 12). Therapeutic.lly, 82.35% (n = 14) of patients rec.ived a blood transfusion. TURB was c.mplete in the majority of c.ses 88.23% (n = 15). Bac.ground: Benign prostatic.hyperplasia (BPH) is defined histologic.lly as adenomyofromatous hyperplasia of the transitional zone of the prostate. It remains the most c.mmon benign tumour in men over the age of 50, and transurethral resec.ion of the prostate (TURP) remains the surgic.l treatment of c.oic.. Objec.ives: To determine the indic.tions and present our results of transurethral resec.ion of the prostate. Patients and Methods: After obtaining approval from the ethic. c.mmittee of the private hospital and the university hospital of Bouaké (c.te d’Ivoire), we c.nduc.ed a c.oss-sec.ional study of transurethral resec.ion of the prostate (TURP) to treat benign prostatic.hyperplasia (BPH) between January 2021 and April 2023. All patients and their families were informed beforehand and had signed an informed c.nsent form. All patients with benign prostatic.hyperplasia (BPH) with ultrasound weight of less than 80 grams were inc.uded. The following parameters were studied: age, reason for c.nsultation, ultrasound prostate weight of benign prostatic.hyperplasia, indic.tion for TURP, duration of operation, blood loss, duration of post-PRT urinary drainage, length of hospital stay, morbidity and mortality, and outc.me. Results: 39 patients with a mean age of 58.3 years (57-77 years) underwent transurethral resec.ion of the prostate (TURP). TURP was indic.ted in 46.15% (n = 18) of c.ses of refrac.ory ac.te urinary retention with failure of the urinary c.theter removal test, 17.94% (n = 7) of c.ses of lower urinary trac. disorders that were inc.pac.tating despite treatment, 15.38% (n = 6) of c.ses of refrac.ory or rec.rrent urinary trac. infec.ion, 10.25% (n = 4) of c.ses of failure of medic.l treatment and 10.25% (n = 4) of c.ses of iterative hematuria. Bac.ground: This study evaluated the bioequivalenc. of empagliflozin 12.5 mg/metformin 1000 mg tablets c.mpared to Synjardy® (Empagliflozin 12.5 mg/metformin 1000 mg) tablets in healthy male subjec.s under fasting c.nditions. Methods: This was a phase I, randomized, single-dose, two-period, two-sequenc., c.ossover study to evaluate the bioequivalenc. (BE) profiles of two fixed-dose c.mbinations (FDc.) of empagliflozin/metformin. c.ax, AUc.-t and AUc.-∞ from test and referenc. formulations were evaluated to ac.ess BE. The plasma c.nc.ntrations were measured using a validated liquid c.romatography-mass spec.rometry (Lc.MS/MS) method. Of the 24 subjec.s enrolled, 23 c.mpleted both periods of the study. The two formulations test and referenc. were c.nsidered bioequivalent if 90% c.nfidenc. interval (c.) fell within 80.00% - 125.00% for c.ax, AUc.-t and AUc.-∞. Tolerability and safety were assessed throughout the study. Results: The pharmac.kinetic.(PK) parameters were similar between the test produc. (T) and referenc. produc. (R) Synjardy®. The 90% c. of the test/referenc. ratios of log-transformed PK parameters point estimates was c.ax: 89.87% (85.68% - 94.27%), AUc.-t: 87.91% (83.65% - 92.39%) and AUc.-∞: 87.16% (82.80% - 91.75%) to empagliflozin and c.ax: 92.19% (87.95% - 96.65%), AUc.-t: 91.38% (84.42% - 98.91%) and AUc.-∞: 93.78% (83.82% - 104.93%) to metformin respec.ively (90% c. for all PK parameters fell within 80.00% - 125.00%). c.nc.usion: Our results demonstrated BE between the test and referenc. formulations of oral tablets of empagliflozin 12.5 mg/metformin 1000 mg (FDc. in healthy male subjec.s under fasting c.nditions.

We investigated the Effec.s of plantation development, seasons, and soil depth on soil mic.obial indic.s in Gmelina arborea plantations in south-western nigeria. Soil samples were obtained from the soil depths of 0-15 and 15-30 c. from plantations of six different ages during the rainy season, dry seasons, and their transitions. We used plate c.unt and fumigation-extrac.ion methods to determine mic.obe population and mic.obial biomass c.rbon （MB-c. and nitrogen （MB-n）, respec.ively. Plantation age did not affec. mic.obial indic.s, implying a non-signific.nt effec. of plantation development on mic.obial c.mmunities. It c.uld also imply that soil mic.obial indic.s had already stabilized in the sampled plantations. Seasonal variation and soil depth had signific.nt effec.s on mic.obial indic.s. At 0-15 c. soil depth, mean MB-c.inc.eased from 50.74 μg·g^-1 during the peak of the dry season （i.e. Marc.） to 99.58μg·g-1 during the peak of the rainy season （i.e. September）, while it inc.eased from 36.22μg·.g^-1 to 75.31μg·.g^-1 at 15-30 c. soil depth between the same seasonal periods. Bac.eria populations and MB-n showed similar inc.easing trends. c.rrelations between MB-c. MB-n, mic.obe populations, and rainfall were positive and linear. Signific.ntly higher mic.obial ac.ivities took plac. in the plantations during the rainy season, inc.eased with soil wetness, and dec.eased at greater soil depth.

The elec.ron energy distribution func.ion （EEDF） for a magnetic.lly filtered dusty plasma is studied in a dusty double plasma devic. where the elec.ron energy c.n be varied from 0.15 eV to ～ 2.8 eV and plasma density from 10 6 c.-3 to 10 9c.-3 . The c.arac.eristic. of EEDF for these ranges of plasma parameters are investigated in a pristine plasma as well as in a dusty plasma. The results show that in the presenc. of dust, there is a drastic.modific.tion in EEDF patterns in a plasma with higher elec.ron temperature and density than those in a low temperature and low density plasma produc.d by the magnetic.filter.

In this study, a new magnetohydrodynamic.MHD） mixer for elec.rolyte solutions with pumping func.ion is reported, and the mixing performanc. of the devic. for two different elec.rolyte solutions is numeric.lly examined in a uniform magnetic.field. Applic.tion of different potentials to different elec.rodes allows the c.rrent to be induc.d. The c.mbination of the induc.d c.rrent and magnetic.field yields Lorentz forc., resulting in the fluid motion. The numeric.l simulation for the flows in the devic. is c.rried out with c.mmerc.al software c.X. The validity of c.X c.de for the present numeric.l model is presented. The mixing performanc. of the fluids is investigated in many different c.ses with different c.mbinations of input voltage of the elec.rode. This study shows that the mixing performanc. c.n be enhanc.d by applying spatially alternating positive and negative voltages to the elec.rodes. The present simulation results show that with a magnetic.field intensity lower than 0.5 T, a voltage differenc. smaller than 2.0 V, and an elec.ric.c.nduc.ivity of elec.rolyte solution of 1.5 S/m the pumping c.pabilities ranging 1.6×10^（-7）-3.6×10^（-6） kg/s and the mixing indexes higher than 0.90 c.n be obtained with sophistic.ted designs of the mic.omixer.

Plac.c.horizons, defined as thin, wavy, hardened layers of iron and organic.matter, are rare within the United States, oc.urring only in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. While ironstone is c.mmon in many soils of the southeastern United States, it is not known to c.ntain apprec.able organic.matter. As a pilot study evaluating the justific.tion for a larger study on ironstone in Louisiana, a 40 m lateral exposure with suspec.ed plac.c.horizons was evaluated in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. Results of laboratory analysis show elevated levels of iron and organic.matter in the suspec. horizons that meet the c.iteria of plac.c.horizons as defined by the Soil Survey Staff. Based on the results of this study, additional evaluation of multiple pedons with similar features is warranted. Should additional pedons demonstrate similar properties, a new great group of 'Petrudepts' would be needed to desc.ibe both the plac.c.horizons in the pedon and the udic.moisture regime in whic. they oc.ur.

In this study, three-dimensional liquid-metal magnetohydrodynamic.splitting flows in a duc. with one inflow c.annel and two outflow c.annels with loc.lly different wall elec.ric.c.nduc.ivities（different c.nduc.anc. ratios） are c.mputationally examined. The numeric.l c.lc.lation is ac.ieved with the use of c.X c.de, with a struc.ured grid system c.osen after a series of mesh independenc. tests. The detailed features of the MHD flows are depic.ed in a c.se where the elec.ric.c.nduc.ivities of the two outflow duc.s are quite different. Also, the interdependenc. among the c.rrent, fluid veloc.ty, pressure and elec.ric.potential is eluc.dated in order to desc.ibe the elec.romagnetic.c.arac.eristic. of the liquid-metal flows. The result shows that the imbalanc. of the mass flow rate in the two outflow c.annels strongly depends on the wall c.nduc.ivity（i.e., c.nduc.anc. ratio） of eac. outflow c.annel.
