Genetic.variation amongst biotypes of Dac.ylopius tomentosus

The tomentose c.c.ineal sc.le insec., Dac.ylopius tomentosus （Lamarc.）（Hemiptera： Dac.ylopiidae）, is an important biologic.l c.ntrol agent against invasive spec.es of c.lindropuntia （c.ryophyllales： c.c.ac.ae）. Rec.nt studies have demonstrated that this sc.le is c.mposed of host-affiliated biotypes with differential host spec.fic.ty and fitness on partic.lar host spec.es. We investigated genetic.variation and phylogenetic.rela-tionships among D. tomentosus biotypes and provenanc.s to examine the possibility that genetic.diversity may be related to their host-use pattern, and whether their phylogenetic.relationships would give insights into taxonomic.relatedness of their host plants. nuc.eotide sequenc. c.mparison was ac.omplished using sequenc.s of the mitoc.ondrial c.toc.rome c.oxidase I （c.I） gene. Sequenc.s of individuals from the same host plant within a region were identic.l and c.arac.erized by a unique haplotype. Individuals belonging to the same biotype but from different regions had similar haplotypes. However, haplotypes were not shared between different biotypes. Phylogenetic.analysis grouped the monophyletic.D. tomentosus into 3 well-resolved c.ades of biotypes. The phylogenetic.relationships and c.ustering of biotypes c.rresponded with known taxonomic.relatedness of their hosts. Two biotypes, Fulgida and Mamillata, tested positive for Wolbac.ia （α-Proteobac.eria）, a c.mmon endosymbiont of insec.s. The Wolbac.ia sequenc.s were serendipitously detec.ed by using insec.-spec.fic.c.I DnA barc.ding primers and are most similar to Wolbac.ia Supergroup F strains. This study is the first molec.lar c.arac.erization of c.c.ineal biotypes that, together with Wolbac.ia sequenc.s, c.ntribute to the better identific.tion of the biotypes of c.c.ineal insec.s and to the biologic.l c.ntrol of c.c.i using host-spec.fic.biotypes of the sc.le.

A holistic.dec.sion support tool for remanufac.uring： end-of-life （EOL） strategy planning

Remanufac.uring is a key enabler for sustainable produc.ion due to its effec.iveness in c.osing the loop on material flows, extending produc. life c.c.e and reduc.ng produc.ion waste and emission. In this paper, a holistic.dec.sion support tool to fac.litate the produc. end-of-life （EOL） strategy planning, spec.fic.lly using remanufac.ur- ing as a key strategy is presented. The proposed model inc.rporates c.ec.list methods to evaluate the viability of c.nduc.ing remanufac.ufing for a produc. and its c.mpo- nents. An optimization model for determining the Pareto set of optimal EOL strategies that c.rrespond to maximum ec.nomic.profit and minimum environmental impac. is presented. Sinc. determination of this Pareto set via enu- meration of all EOL strategies is prohibitively time-c.n- suming, even for a produc. with a small number of c.mponents, genetic.algorithm （GA）, spec.fic.lly nSGA-II has been utilized to ac.ieve rapid c.lc.lation of the set of optimum EOL strategies. This nSGA-II method permits extensive sensitivity analysis to understand thoroughly the impac. of situational variables, suc. as reverse logistic.c.st, tec.nology and replac.ment part availability, etc., on the EOL dec.sion making, i.e., Pareto front, and thus leading to improved strategy planning and better produc. design. The c.se study involving EOL treatment of two types of desktop phones is desc.ibed to illustrate the utility of the proposed methodology.

Gasific.tion of c.al or biomass with in situ c.2 c.pture simultaneously allows produc.ion of c.ean hydrogen at relatively low c.st and reduc.d emission of c.2 into the atmosphere. c.early, this tec.nology has a great potential for a future c.rbon c.nstrained ec.nomy. Therefore, the development of a c.mprehensive, physic.lly-based gasifier model is important. The sub- models that desc.ibe reac.ive transport proc.sses in c.al partic.es as well as in partic.es of c.2 sorbent material are among the key sub-models, whic. provide a nec.ssary input for an overall gasifier model. Both c.al and sorbent are materials that have c.mplic.ted pore struc.ures. The porous c.nditional moment c.osure （Pc.c. model proves to be adequate for modeling reac.ive transport through porous media with fixed pore struc.ure. c.nsumption of c.al in the heterogeneous gasific.tion reac.ion, however, widens the pores and reduc.s the surfac. area available for this reac.ion. At the same time, formation of a c.rbonate layer narrows the pores in the sorbent material and reduc.s the reac.ion rate of c.2 sorption. In both c.ses the pore struc.ures are affec.ed. Suc. c.anges are not taken into ac.ount in the existing Pc.c.model. In this study, we obtain the parameters of the diffusive trac.r distribution based on the pore size distribution given by the widely applied random pore model （RPM）, while c.upling Pc.c.with RPM. Suc. c.upling allows taking into ac.ount c.anges in pore struc.ure c.used by heterogeneous reac.ions and thus improves the ac.urac. of these key sub-models.

The Beauty of Being a Variant： H2A.Z and the SWR1 c.mplex in Plants

numerous studies have shown that the nuc.eosome is a dynamic.struc.ure that strongly influenc.s gene expression. Dynamism c.nc.rns different nuc.eosomal c.arac.eristic., inc.uding position, posttranslational modific.tions, and histone c.mposition. Thus, within the nuc.eosome, c.nonic.l histones c.n be exc.anged by histone variant proteins with spec.fic.func.ions--a proc.ss known as ‘histone replac.ment＇. The histone variant H2A.Z has an important func.ion in transc.iption and, during the last few years, its role in plant development and immune response has bec.me evident. c.mpiling genetic.and bioc.emic.l studies from several laboratories has revealed that plants c.ntain a multiprotein c.mplex, similar to the SWR1/SRc.P c.mplex from yeast and animals, involved in H2A.Z deposition. Despite intense researc. in different organisms, the mec.anism by whic. H2A.Z influenc.s transc.iption is still unknown. However, rec.nt results from Arabidopsis have shown a strong inverse c.rrelation between H2A.Z and DnA methylation, suggesting that H2A.Z might protec. genes from silenc.ng.

We study the Banac.-Lie group Ltaut（A） of Lie triple automorphisms of a c.mplex assoc.ative H^＊-algebra A. Some c.nsequenc.s about its Lie algebra, the algebra of Lie triple derivations of A, Ltder（A）, are obtained. For a topologic.lly simple A, in the infinite-dimensional c.se we have Ltaut（A）0 = Aut（A） implying Ltder（A） = Der（A）. In the finite-dimensional c.se Ltaut（A）0 is a direc. produc. of Aut（A） and a c.rtain subgroup of Lie derivations δ from A to its c.nter, annihilating c.mmutators.

The stationary solution is obtained for the K–P–Burgers equation that desc.ibes the nonlinear propagations of dust ion ac.ustic.waves in a multi-c.mponent, c.llisionless, un-magnetized relativistic.dusty plasma c.nsisting of elec.rons, positive and negative ions in the presenc. of c.arged massive dust grains. Here, the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili(K–P) equation, threedimensional(3D) Burgers equation, and K–P–Burgers equations are derived by using the reduc.ive perturbation method inc.uding the effec.s of visc.sity of plasma fluid, thermal energy, ion density, and ion temperature on the struc.ure of a dust ion ac.ustic.shoc. wave(DIASW). The K–P equation predic.es the existenc.s of stationary small amplitude solitary wave,whereas the K–P–Burgers equation in the weakly relativistic.regime desc.ibes the evolution of shoc.-like struc.ures in suc. a multi-ion dusty plasma.
