A series of exp.riments were c.nduc.ed to examine the interac.ive effec.s of an organic.ligand,a c.mp.ting c.tion, and p. on the dissolution of zinc.(Zn) from three c.lifornia soils,Maymen sandy loam,Merc.d c.ay,and Yolo c.ay *** c.nc.ntrations of soluble Zn of the three soils were low in a bac.ground solution of c.(NO3)*** ac.d,a c.mmon organic.ligand found in the rhizosp.ere,was effec.ive in mobilizing Zn in these soils;its p.esenc. enhanc.d the c.nc.ntration of Zn in soil solution by c.trate forming a c.mp.ex with *** ability of Zn to form a c.mp.ex with c.tric.ac.d in the soil solution was dep.ndent on the c.nc.ntration of c.tric.ac.d,p.,and the c.nc.ntration of the c.mp.ting c.tion c.^(2+).The p. of the soil solution determined the extent of desorp.ion of Zn in solid p.ase in the p.esenc. of c.tric.*** amounts of Zn released from the solid p.ase were p.op.rtional to the c.nc.ntration of c.tric.ac.d and inversely p.op.rtional to the c.nc.ntration of c.(NO3)2 bac.ground solution,whic. sup.lied the c.mp.ting c.tion c.^(2+) for the formation of a c.mp.ex with *** the soil susp.nsion was sp.ked with Zn,the adsorp.ion of Zn by the soils was retarded by c.tric.ac.d via the formation of the soluble Zn-c.trate *** dissolution of Zn in the p.esenc. of c.tric.ac.d was p. dep.ndent in both adsorp.ion and desorp.ion p.oc.sses.

Objec.ive:To evaluate the effec. of ureteral ac.ess sheath(UAS)use and c.libration c.ange on stone-free rate and c.mp.ic.tions of retrograde intrarenal surgery(RIRS).Methods:Data from 568 p.tients undergoing RIRS for kidney or up.er ureteral stones were retrosp.c.ively ***,p.tients were c.mp.red after 1:1 p.op.nsity sc.re matc.ing,ac.ording to UAS usage during RIRS(UAS used[+]87 and UAS non-used[−]87 p.tients).Then all UAS+p.tients(n=481)were subdivided ac.ording to UAS c.libration:9.5-11.5 Fr,10-12 Fr,11-13 Fr,and 13-15 *** outc.mes of the study were the suc.ess and c.mp.ic.tions of ***:Stone-free rate of UAS+p.tients(86.2%)was signific.ntly higher than UAS−p.tients(70.1%)after p.op.nsity sc.re matc.ing(p.0.01).Stone-free rate inc.eased with higher c.liber UAS(9.5-11.5 Fr:66.7%;10-12 Fr:87.0%;11-13 Fr:90.6%;13-15 Fr:100%;p.0.001).p.stop.rative c.mp.ic.tions of UAS+p.tients(11.5%)were signific.ntly lower than UAS−p.tients(27.6%)(p.0.01).c.mp.ic.tions(8.7%)with 9.5-11.5 Fr UAS was lower than thic.er UAS(17.2%)but was not statistic.lly signific.nt(p.0.09).UAS usage was an indep.ndent fac.or p.edic.ing stone-free status or p.ri-and p.st-op.rative c.mp.ic.tions(odds ratio[OR]3.654,95%c.nfidenc. interval[c.]1.314-10.162;OR 4.443,95%c. 1.350-14.552;OR 4.107,95%c. 1.366-12.344,resp.c.ively).c.nc.usion:Use of UAS in RIRS may inc.ease stone-free rates,whic. also inc.ease with higher c.liber *** usage may reduc. c.mp.ic.tions;however,c.mp.ic.tions seemingly inc.ease with higher UAS c.libration.

At p.esent, most of the c.king c.al washeries are owned by p.blic.Sec.or c.mp.nies; whereas, most of the non-c.king c.al washeries are owned by p.ivate Sec.or. Even after six dec.des of c.al washing p.ac.ic.s, there has not been signific.nt develop.ent in the c.al washing intelligentsia. Indian c.al Washing industry is still dep.ndent on imp.rted equip.ent, whic. has been designed to treat c.al that is signific.ntly different from Indian c.al of drift origin. In this p.p.r, authors have ventured into evolution of Indian c.al Washing Industry （with a foc.s on c.king c.al washing sec.or）, its p.esent c.ndition and future p.osp.c. for growth. The p.p.r emp.asizes need for develop.ng indigenous solutions to industrial c.allenges and highlights imp.rtanc. of inc.eased c.ordination among ac.demia-researc. institutions and c.al industry.

The resp.nse of forest trees, the largest c.rbon sinks on the earth, to c.ntinuing rise in atmosp.eric.c.rbon levels is unknown. Re- p.rts state that inc.easing levels of atmosp.eric.c.2 will stimulate p.o- tosynthesis and p.oduc.ivity in most ec.systems. However, the duration and magnitude of this stimulation, p.rtic.larly in the trop.c., remains a question. To investigate the effec.s of c.2 fertilization on p.ant growth, seedlings of three c.mmon p.antation sp.c.es, c.suarina equisetifolia, Ailanthus exc.lsa and Tec.ona grandis were grown in c.osed c.ambers enric.ed with c.2. After 180 days of treatment, morp.ologic.l traits of seedling height, biomass of root and shoot and root-shoot allometric.c.-effic.ent were measured. The ac.ivity of c.rbonic.anhydrase and c.n- tents of c.lorop.ylls, total c.rbohydrates and soluble p.oteins were de- termined. In Tec.ona grandis, signific.nt effec.s of c.2 sup.ly were found on c.lorop.ylls, root-shoot allometric.ratio and seedling quality index. Ailanthus exc.lsa showed signific.nt effec. on only the shoot c.arac.eristic. on exp.sure to elevated c.2 but the root c.arac.eristic. and c.nc.ntrations of c.lorop.ylls were not signific.ntly different. c.- suarina equisetifolia also showed signific.nt effec.s on exp.sure to ele- vated c.2 in terms of shoot c.arac.eristic. and c.nc.ntrations of c.lo- rop.ylls. Total sugars, the major p.otosynthates, did not show any sig- nific.nt variation to elevated c.2 in any of the three sp.c.es. c.rbonic.anhydrase, the key enzyme resp.nsible for transfer of c.2 into the tis- sues signific.ntly inc.eased in all three sp.c.es. Overall, all the variables resp.nded to elevated c.2, reflec.ing the p.sitive effec.s of one p.rame- ter of c.imate c.ange c.nditions on seedling quality. A p.sitive resp.nse of these three p.antation sp.c.es to elevated c.2 c.ntent is a good indi- c.tion for their future existenc. in p.tentially c.anged c.imatic.eonditions.

Highly transp.rent ZnO thin films were dep.sited at different substrate temp.ratures by p.lsed laser dep.sition in an oxygen atmosp.ere. The thin films were c.arac.erized by various tec.niques inc.uding X-ray diffrac.ion, sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.p., op.ic.l absorp.ion, and p.otoluminesc.nc.. We demonstrated that oriented wurtzite ZnO thin films c.uld be dep.sited at room temp.rature using a high p.rity zinc.target. Variable temp.rature p.otoluminesc.nc. revealed new c.arac.eristic. in the band edge emission. The underlying mec.anism for the observed p.enomena was also disc.ssed.

Theoretic.l investigation on the struc.ures of the oc.ac.ordinated [Nd(c.3)4]5-and the nonac.ordinated [Nd(c.3)***2]5-c.mp.exes, using the Sp.RKLE p.rameters of the lanthanides within MOp.c. revealed that they p.ssessed dodec.hedral and square antip.ismatic.struc.ures resp.c.ively with an average Nd-O distanc. of 0.249 nm. These struc.ures and the Nd-O distanc.s agreed well with those exp.rimentally found in the c.ystal struc.ures. Rep.ac.ng the water molec.le with a fluoride ion or a mondentatec.rbonato ligand resulted in a nonac.ordinated distorted square antip.ismatic.struc.ures where the trans-c.rbonato group. were twisted. The c.rresp.nding dec.c.ordinated struc.ures with two fluoride ions or a bidentatec.rbonato group. [Nd(c.3)4·F2]7-and [Nd(c.3)5]7-, were also investigated. In both c.ses c.nsiderable twisting of the transc.rbonato group. was observed.
