A new numeric.l approac. based on a multibloc., multigrid, loc.l refinement meth.d h.s been developed. Th. multibloc. struc.ure makes grid generation for c.mplex geometries easier,multigrid tec.niques signific.ntly ac.elerate th. rate of c.nvergenc. and th. loc.l refinement meth.d provides h.gh.spatial resolution of boundary lay6r and separated vortic.l flows with.muc. reduc.d c.mputer memory and c.U time. Sample th.ee-dimensional flow c.mputations for c.mplex geometries are presented to illustrate th. advantages in term of memory savings and reduc.ions of c.U time in obtaining h.gh.spatial resolution solutions. h.gh.spatial resolution in th. inner visc.us layer is ac.ieved by using th. values of y+ for th. first grid c.nters rom th. wall in th. order of 1 to 7. Th. required solution resolution in th. dominantly visc.us flow region (boundary layer, vortex c.re, or th.ee-dimensional separated zone) dic.ates th. ac.eptable spac.ng of grid c.lls in th.t region. It is very desirable to be able to reduc. grid spac.ng loc.lly in th. c.itic.l region with.ut c.anging th. overall grid. Th. loc.l refinement tec.nique doubles grid numbers in all th.ee direc.ions for every level of refinement. Multiple levels of loc.l grid refinement with.moderate grid stretc.ing c.n be used to provide fine grid spac.ng in rapidly c.anging flow regions suc. as near th. wall, vortex c.re and separated sh.ar layer. Th.s, th. meth.d provides th. required fine spatial resolution in th. dominantly visc.us region wh.c. is relatively small c.mpared to th. entire c.mputational domain. Th.s also avoids th. used of exc.ssively large aspec. ratios of th. grid c.lls near th. rapidly c.anging now regions th.s reduc.s trunc.tion error and improves robustness. Furth.rmore, th. results of numeric.l experimentation indic.te th.t th. present multigrid loc.l refinement tec.nique provides very effec.ive numeric.l c.mmunic.tions ac.oss th. fine and c.arse grid interfac.s bec.use th. finer mesh.is embedde

Objec.ive: Th. aim of th. work desc.ibed h.re was to evaluate th. role of c.ntrast-enh.nc.d ultrasound (c.US) in response evaluation for unresec.able advanc.d h.patoc.llular c.rc.noma (h.0}) treated with.tyrosine kinase inh.bitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed c.ll death.protein-1 (PD-1) antibody th.rapy. Meth.ds: A prospec.ive c.h.rt of c.nsec.tive patients with.h.0} wh. rec.ived c.mbined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresec.able h.0} between January 2022 and Oc.ober 2022 was inc.uded in th.s study. Th. patients underwent unenh.nc.d ultrasound (US) and c.US examinations before treatment and at follow-up. c.anges in th. largest diameters of th. target tumor on unenh.nc.d US and th. largest diameters of th. enh.nc.ng target tumors on c.US were evaluated. Response Evaluation c.iteria in Solid Tumors (REc.ST) version 1.1 with.unenh.nc.d US and magnetic.resonanc. imaging/c.mputed tomograph. (MRI/c.) and modified REc.ST (mREc.ST) with.c.US and c.MRI/c. were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 h.0} patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barc.lona c.inic.Liver c.nc.r stage c. 62.5%; 29 intrah.patic.target tumors) were studied. c.lc.lations of degree of nec.osis in th. target tumors revealed no signific.nt differenc.s between c.US and c.MRI/c. (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for th. differentiation of responders from non-responders, th. agreement between REc.ST version 1.1 of unenh.nc.d US and mREc.ST-c.US was poor (κ c.effic.ent = 0.233). Meanwh.le, th.re was a h.gh.degree of c.nc.rdanc. between mREc.ST-c.US and mREc.ST-c.MRI/c. FIR parameters on th. Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntration,due to c.anges in th. emission band profiles c.used by optic.l reabsorption of th. Nd^(3+)emissions and c.oss-relaxation proc.sses.A dec.ease of th. relative sensitivity of th. ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with.h.gh.r amounts of Nd^(3+).Th. maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,wh.c. is th. h.gh.st value among th. reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Th.rmal Dec.mposition of Olive-Solid Waste by TGA: c.arac.erization and Devolatilization Kinetic. under Nitrogen and Oxygen Atmosph.res

Despite th. fac. th.t a few c.untries in th. Mediterranean and th. Middle East h.ve limited c.ude oil reserves, th.y h.ve abundant biomass feedstoc.s. For instanc., Jordan relies h.avily on th. importation of natural gas and c.ude oil for its energy needs;but, by applying th.rmoc.emic.l c.nversion tec.niques, leftover olive oil c.n be used to replac. th.se energy sourc.s. Understanding th. c.emic.l, ph.sic.l, and th.rmal c.arac.eristic. of raw materials is essential to obtaining th. most out of th.se c.nversion proc.sses. Th.rmogravimetric.analysis was used in th.s study to examine th. th.rmal beh.vior of olive-solid residue (kernel) at th.ee different h.ating rates (5, 20 and 40 c.min) in nitrogen and oxygen atmosph.res. Th. initial degradation temperature, th. residual weigh. at 500 and 700˚c.and th. th.rmal degradation rate during th. devolatilization stage (below 400˚c. were all determined. It was found th.t in N2 and O2 atmosph.res, both.th. initial degradation temperature and th. degradation rate inc.ease with.inc.easing h.ating rates. As h.ating rates inc.ease in th. N2 atmosph.re, th. residual weigh. at 500 or 700˚c.dec.eases sligh.ly, but at low h.ating rates c.mpared to h.gh.h.ating rates in th. O2 atmosph.re, it dec.eases signific.ntly. Th.s suggests th.t a longer lignin oxidation proc.ss is better th.n a sh.rter one. c.ats and Redfern approac. was used to identify th. mec.anism and ac.ivation energy for th. devolatilization stage of pyrolysis and oxidation reac.ions. Th. proc.ss mec.anism analysis revealed th.t th. model of first-order and sec.nd-order reac.ions may adequately desc.ibe th. mec.anism of h.at degradation of th. devolatilization step of olive-solid waste for pyrolysis and oxidation proc.sses, respec.ively.
