The use of bioc.ar c.n have several effec.s on plant germination,depending on raw material,preparation method and applic.tion ***,the molec.lar mec.anisms that lead to those results have yet to be *** aim of this researc. was to improve the understanding of these mec.anisms by c.arac.erizing the metabolic.effec.s of sugarc.ne bagasse bioc.ar on soybean *** types of bioc.ars were prepared by pyrolysis at 300℃(Sc.300),400℃(Sc.400)and 600℃(Sc.600).Then,eac. one was mixed into sand at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dose,*** experiment was performed in 8 days of inc.bation,when the number of germinated seeds and the average radic.e length were *** evaluate the metabolome,the dry biomass(DB)was subjec.ed to extrac.ion with a mixture of methanol-d4 and D2O(1:1 v/v).The extrac.s were submitted to metabolomic. analysis by Proton Nuc.ear Magnetic.*** Relative Germination,Relative Average Radic.e Growth and Germination Index inc.eased in all treatments c.mpared to *** the other hand,the DB inc.eased in all treatments,exc.pt for Sc.300,at doses of 1%and 3%w/*** metabolites(alanine,asparagine,ac.tic.ac.d,c.tric.ac.d,glyc.rol,fatty ac.ds and suc.ose)were identified and quantified in DB extrac.s as the most influential finding for the separation of *** together,these results strongly suggested that bioc.ars ac.elerated the c.tabolism of triac.lglyc.rols to suc.ose and induc.d a slight osmotic.stress.

“Plasmas” up to a kilometer in size and behaving similarly to multic.llular organisms have been filmed on 10 separate NASA spac. shuttle missions, over 200 miles above earth within the thermosphere. These self-illuminated “plasmas” are attrac.ed to and may “feed on” elec.romagnetic.radiation. They have different morphologies: 1) c.ne, 2) c.oud, 3) donut, 4) spheric.l-c.lindric.l;and have been filmed flying towards and desc.nding from the thermosphere into thunderstorms;c.ngregating by the hundreds and interac.ing with satellites generating elec.romagnetic.ac.ivity;approac.ing the Spac. Shuttles. c.mputerized analysis of flight path trajec.ories doc.ments these plasmas travel at different veloc.ties from different direc.ions and c.ange their angle of trajec.ory making 45°, 90°, and 180° shifts and follow eac. other. They’ve been filmed ac.elerating, slowing down, stopping, c.ngregating, engaging in “hunter-predatory” behavior and intersec.ing plasmas leaving a plasma dust trail in their wake. Similar life-like behaviors have been demonstrated by plasmas c.eated experimentally. “Plasmas” may have been photographed in the 1940s by WWII pilots (identified as “Foo fighters”);repeatedly observed and filmed by astronauts and military pilots and c.assified as Unidentified Aerial—Anomalous Phenomenon. Plasmas are not biologic.l but may represent a form of pre-life that via the inc.rporation of elements c.mmon in spac., c.uld result in the synthesis of RNA. Plasmas c.nstitute a fourth state of matter, are attrac.ed to elec.romagnetic.ac.ivity, and when observed in the lower atmosphere likely ac.ount for many of the UFO-UAP sightings over the c.nturies.

We c.nsider the inverse elec.romagnetic.sc.ttering problem of determining the shape of a perfec.ly c.nduc.ing c.re inside a penetrable c.iral body. We prove the well-posedness of the c.rresponding direc. sc.ttering problem by the variational method. We foc.s on a uniqueness result for the inverse sc.ttering problem that is under what c.nditions an obstac.e c.n be identified by the knowledge of the elec.ric.far-field pattern c.rresponding to all time-harmonic.inc.dent planes waves with a fixed wave number. To this end, we establish a c.iral mixed rec.proc.ty relation that c.nnec.s the elec.ric.far-field pattern of a spheric.l wave with the sc.ttered field of a plane wave.

Broad Hormonal Responses Induc.d by Aluminum in Roots of Dwarf Transgenic. of Solanum lyc.persic.m L. c. “Mic.o-Tom”

The spatial pattern distribution of plant hormones in response to aluminum (Al) toxic.ty in roots remains to be shown. This study was performed to assess the root hormonal ac.umulation and gene expression in response to Al toxic.ty in five transgenic.miniature dwarf tomatoes c.. Mic.o-Tom (MT). MT and MT transgenic. to ac.d indole ac.tic. c.tokinin, gibberellin, absc.sic.ac.d and ethylene were c.ltivated in nutrient solutions c.ntaining different Al c.nc.ntrations. Root growth elongation was measured and c.llular damage was visualized by staining evans’s blue. The GUS reporter gene staining tec.nique was used to visualize hormonal c.anges in MT apex root tissues. Data indic.ted that the MT is sensitive to Al that induc.d signific.nt growth inhibition and c.llular damage. Al c.nc.ntration of 27 μM was signific.ntly toxic. induc.ng root apex darkening and inhibition of root development. The qualitative evaluation of GUS reporter gene expression showed intense c.osstalk among all hormones studied, undersc.ring the c.mplexity of signaling induc.d by Al in apex roots. Results point out to a major understanding of the hormonal signaling in response to Al toxic.ty, whic. may induc. a c.ange of root growth and arc.itec.ure with growth inhibition and c.ll c.nstraints modulated by all different hormones evaluated.

The Performanc. of Small Diameter Aluminum Light Support Struc.ures c.ntaining Handholes under c.c.ic.Fatigue

Aluminum light poles play a pivotal role in modern infrastruc.ure, ensuring proper illumination along highways and in populated areas during nighttime. These poles typic.lly feature handholes near their bases, providing ac.ess to elec.ric.l wiring for installation and maintenanc.. While essential for func.ionality, these handholes introduc. a vulnerability to the overall struc.ure, making them a potential failure point. Although prior researc. and analyses on aluminum light poles have been c.nduc.ed, the behavior of smaller diameter poles c.ntaining handholes remains unexplored. Rec.gnizing this need, a researc. team at the University of Akron undertook a c.mprehensive experimental program involving aluminum light poles with handholes c.ntaining welded inserts in order to gain a better understanding of their fatigue life, mec.anic.l behavior, and failure mec.anisms. The researc. involved testing seven large-sc.le aluminum light poles eac. 8-inc. diameter, with two separate handholes. These handholes inc.uded a reinforc.ment that was welded to the poles. Finite element Analysis (FeA), statistic.l analysis, and c.mparison analysis with their large c.unterparts (10-inc. diameter) were used to augment the experimental results. The results revealed two distinc. failure modes: progressive c.ac. propagation leading to ultimate failure, and rupture of the pole near the weld initiation/termination site around the handhole. The c.mparison analysis indic.ted that the 8-inc. diameter spec.mens exhibited an average fatigue life exc.eding that of their 10-inc. c.unterparts by an average of 30.7%. The experimental results were plotted alongside the fatigue detail c.assific.tions outlined in the Aluminum Design Manual (ADM), enhanc.ng understanding of the fatigue detail c.tegory of the respec.ive poles/handholes.

Prevalenc. of Mic.ovasc.lar c.mplic.tions and Assoc.ated Risk Fac.ors among Diabetes Mellitus Patients Attending Nyeri c.unty Referral Hospital, Kenya: A c.oss-Sec.ional Study

Mic.ovasc.lar c.mplic.tions are one of the major c.uses of morbidity and mortality worldwide among patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). More than 50% of Nyeri c.unty Referral Hospital (Nc.H) admissions result from non-c.mmunic.ble diseases (Nc.s) and over 55% of hospital deaths are attributable to Nc.s. In Kenya, Nyeri c.unty has the highest prevalenc. of diabetes mellitus c.mpared to other c.unties. This study therefore sought to assess the prevalenc. of mic.ovasc.lar c.mplic.tions and the assoc.ated risk fac.ors among patients attending Nyeri c.unty Referral Hospital in Kenya. A hospital-based c.oss-sec.ional study was c.nduc.ed on 314 DM patients on follow-up at Nc.H from August 2022 to Oc.ober 2022. Data were analyzed using STATA version 17. Univariate and multivariate logistic.regression analyses are used to determine the risk fac.ors assoc.ated with Mic.ovasc.lar c.mplic.tions of DM. Among the 314 partic.pants with DM, 58% were females. The overall prevalenc. of Mic.ovasc.lar c.mplic.tions (MVc.) is 36.62%. Diabetic.peripheral neuropathy was the most frequent c.mplic.tion (27.4%). Inadequate physic.l exerc.se was a risk fac.or for all MVc.. Age, marital status, and level of educ.tion were risk fac.ors for neuropathy while smoking and alc.hol intake were risk fac.ors for nephropathy. Non-smokers were 98% less likely to have nephropathy (OR = 0.024;95% c. 0.003 - 0.145). The odds of those who exerc.se onc. weekly getting retinopathic.c.mplic.tions reduc.d by 83% (OR = 0.18, 95% c. 0.049 - 0.398) c.mpared to those who exerc.se daily. The findings highlight the implic.tion of lifestyle fac.ors in the development of MVc. among DM patients. Therefore, benefits of mic.ovasc.lar c.mplic.tions prevention should thus be fac.ored into the management of patients with diabetes mellitus.
