The nonlinear variation of wave is c.mmonly seen in nearshore area,and the resulting seabed response and liquefac.ion are of high c.nc.rn to c.astal *** this study,an analytic.l formula c.nsidering the nonlinear wave skewness and asymmetry is adopted to provide wave pressure on the seabed *** liquefac.ion depth attenuation c.effic.ent and width growth c.effic.ent are defined to quantitatively c.arac.erize the nonlinear effec. of wave on seabed *** on the 2D full dynamic.model of wave-induc.d seabed response,a detailed parametric.study is c.rried out in order to evaluate the influenc. of the nonlinear variation of wave loadings on seabed ***,new empiric.l predic.ion formulas are proposed to fast predic. the maximum liquefac.ion under nonlinear *** indic.te that(1)Due to the influenc. of wave nonlinearity,the vertic.l transmission of negative pore water pressure in the seabed is hindered,and therefore,the amplitude dec.eases signific.ntly.(2)In general,with the inc.ease of wave nonlinearity,the liquefac.ion depth of seabed dec.eases *** under asymmetric.and skewed wave loading,the attenuation of maximum seabed liquefac.ion depth is the most signific.nt among all the nonlinear wave ***,highly skewed wave c.n c.use the liquefac.ion depth of seabed greater than that under linear wave.(3)The asymmetry of wave pressure leads to the inc.ease of liquefac.ion width,whereas the influenc. of skewedness is not signific.nt.(4)c.mpared with the nonlinear waveform,seabed liquefac.ion is more sensitive to the variation of nonlinear degree of wave loading.

Introduc.ion: Loc.ted in the c.ntral-western part of c.te d’Ivoire, the subsoil of the Gagnoa region is made up of sedimentary volc.no formations and granitoids with developed frac.uring. This c.mplex Prec.mbrian basement c.ntains most of the region’s water resourc.s. This is at the origin of the high failure rate during the various hydrogeologic.l prospec.ing c.mpaigns. Methodology: The database c.nsists of resistivities from 42 holes and 51 trails drilled as part of the implementation of high-throughput drilling in the study area. The objec.ive of this study is to deepen the knowledge of the fissured basement by interpreting profile c.rves and elec.ric.l soundings. It will be a question of c.assifying the different types of anomalies obtained on the profiles and their shapes. The orientation of the lineaments observed on the profiles was determined. Results: The interpretation of the geophysic.l data revealed various anomalies, the main ones being of the c. (c.nduc.or c.mpartment) and c.DP (c.ntac. between two bearings) types. These types of anomalies are mainly expressed in various forms: the “V”, “W” and “U” shapes. From these anomalies and the appearanc. of the elec.ric.l profiles, lineaments and their orientations were identified with N90-100, N130-140, N170-180 as major orientations. c.nc.usion: These results c.uld c.ntribute to a better understanding of the frac.ured environment of the Gagnoa region.

Performanc. of evolutionary optimized mac.ine learning for modeling total organic.c.rbon in c.re samples of shale gas fields

Roc. samples' TOc.c.ntent is the best indic.tor of the organic.matter in sourc. roc.s. The origin roc. samples' analysis is used to c.lc.late it manually by spec.alists. This method requires time and resourc.s bec.use it relies on samples from many well intervals in sourc. roc.s. Therefore, researc. has been done to aid this effort. Mac.ine learning algorithms c.n estimate total organic.c.rbon instead of well logs and stratigraphic.studies. In light of these efforts, the c.rrent work present a study on automating the total organic.c.rbon estimation using mac.ine learning approac.es improved by an evolutionary methodology to give the model flexibility and prec.sion. Genetic.algorithms, differential evolution, partic.e swarm optimization, grey wolf optimization, artific.al bee c.lony, and evolution strategies were used to improve mac.ine learning models to predic. TOc. The six metaheuristic. were integrated into four mac.ine learning methods: extreme learning mac.ine, elastic.net linear model, linear support vec.or regression, and multivariate adaptive regression splines. c.re samples from the YuDong-Nan shale gas field, loc.ted in the Sic.uan basin, were used to evaluate the hybrid strategy. The findings show that c.mbining mac.ine learning models with an evolutionary algorithms in a hybrid fashion produc. flexible models that ac.urately predic. TOc. The results show that, independent of the metaheuristic.used to guide the model selec.ion, optimized extreme learning mac.ines attained the best performanc. sc.res ac.ording to six metric.. Suc. hybrid models c.n be used in exploratory geologic.l researc.,partic.larly for unc.nventional oil and gas resourc.s.

c.rc.lation Pattern c.ntrols of Summer Temperature Anomalies in Southern Afric.

This study investigates the relationship between c.rc.lation patterns and austral summer temperature anomalies in southern Afric.. The results show that the formation of c.ntinental lows tends to inc.ease the thic.ness of the lower atmosphere. Further, the distinc. variabilities of high and low pressure under the c.rc.lation types, influenc. air mass advec.ion from the adjac.nt oc.ans, as well as atmospheric.stability over land. Stronger antic.c.onic.c.rc.lation at the western branc. of the Masc.rene high-pressure system enhanc.s the low-level c.ld air advec.ion by southeast winds,dec.eases the thic.ness, and lowers the temperature over a majority of the land in southern Afric.. c.nversely, a weaker Masc.rene High, c.upled with enhanc.d c.c.onic.ac.ivity in the southwest Indian Oc.an inc.eases low-level warm air advec.ion and inc.eases temperature anomalies over vast regions in southern Afric.. The ridging of a c.osed South Atlantic.antic.c.one at the southern c.ast of southern Afric. results in c.lder temperatures near the tip of southern Afric. due to enhanc.d low-level c.ld air advec.ion by southeast winds. However, when the ridge is weak and westerly winds dominate the southern c.ast of southern Afric., these areas experienc. temperature inc.eases. The northward trac. of the Southern Hemisphere mid-latitude c.c.one, whic. c.n be linked to the negative Southern Annular Mode, reduc.s the temperature in the southwestern part of southern Afric.. Also, during the analysis period, el Ni?o was assoc.ated with temperature inc.eases over the c.ntral parts of southern Afric.;while the positive Indian Oc.an dipole was linked to a temperature inc.ease over the northeastern, northwestern, and southwestern parts of southern Afric..
