Post Episiotomy Morbidity among Parturient in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State

Bac.ground: Episiotomy is a very c.mmon obstetric.surgery, and it c.uld be assoc.ated with serious c.mplic.tions. However, these c.mplic.tions largely are not notic.d due to the shift of attention from mother to baby, after a suc.essful delivery. Objec.ive: To identify the morbidities assoc.ated with episiotomies and fac.ors assoc.ated with suc. morbidities. Method: This was a questionnaire based c.oss sec.ional desc.iptive study among women who attended the Obstetric.Department of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki Ebonyi State, between 1st July and 31st nov, 2023. The study population c.nsisted of parturients who had episiotomies in their previous c.nfinements, attending either the antenatal c.inic.or the postnatal c.inic.at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki Ebonyi State. Results: Mac.osomia was the most c.mmon indic.tion of episiotomy at a rate of 31.6%. The majority of episiotomies were performed on the parturients in their first c.nfinement at a rate of 64.5% and the majority of repairs were performed by the Registrar at a rate of 65.0%. Informed c.nsent was obtained from 45.79% of parturients while 54.21% were not informed before the episiotomy was administered. Only 55.3% of the parturient rec.ived analgesia before episiotomy was administered. The majority of the parturients had their episiotomy repaired between 10 - 15 minutes at a rate of 40.3%. Postoperative pain at the rate of 44.5% was the most c.mmon c.mplic.tion and dyspareunia as a form of sexual c.mplic.tion was the c.mmonest at a rate of 31.3%. c.nc.usion: The parturient needs to be properly c.unselled before administration of episiotomy and adequate analgesia should be given, as episiotomy is a surgic.l proc.dure. Proper training of health workers on both the tec.nique of administering and repairing episiotomy is important. Restric.ive use of routine episiotomy in primigravidae is advised to reduc. the rate of episiotomy.

Effic.ent Vision Transformers for Autonomous Off-Road Perc.ption Systems

The development of autonomous vehic.es has bec.me one of the greatest researc. endeavors in rec.nt years. These vehic.es rely on many c.mplex systems working in tandem to make dec.sions. For prac.ic.l use and safety reasons, these systems must not only be ac.urate, but also quic.ly detec. c.anges in the surrounding environment. In autonomous vehic.e researc., the environment perc.ption system is one of the key c.mponents of development. Environment perc.ption systems allow the vehic.e to understand its surroundings. This is done by using c.meras, light detec.ion and ranging (LiDAR), with other sensor systems and modalities. Deep learning c.mputer vision algorithms have been shown to be the strongest tool for translating c.mera data into ac.urate and safe traversability dec.sions regarding the environment surrounding a vehic.e. In order for a vehic.e to safely traverse an area in real time, these c.mputer vision algorithms must be ac.urate and have low latenc.. While muc. researc. has studied autonomous driving for traversing well-struc.ured urban environments, limited researc. exists evaluating perc.ption system improvements in off-road settings. This researc. aims to investigate the adaptability of several existing deep-learning arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation in off-road environments. Previous studies of two c.nvolutional neural network (c.n) arc.itec.ures are inc.uded for c.mparison with new evaluation of Vision Transformer (ViT) arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation. Our results demonstrate viability of ViT arc.itec.ures for off-road perc.ption systems, having a strong segmentation ac.urac., lower inferenc. speed and memory footprint c.mpared to previous results with c.n arc.itec.ures.

PABA,the primary sunsc.een *** study investigates the interac.ion of c.lix[4]arene(c.),c.lix[6]arene(c.),and PABA using the Langmuir method and first-princ.ple density func.ional theory(DFT).Using the Langmuir-Sc.aefer(LS)tec.nique,an ultrathin film c.mposed of c.lix[n]arenes and their c.mplexes with PABA was deposited on various *** on the Langmuir study,the PABA molec.le was bonded to the lower rims of both c. and c. with the host-guest ratio of 1:*** of the LS films formed were then c.arac.erized by ultravioletvisible spec.rosc.py(UV-Vis),Fourier-transform infrared spec.rosc.py(FTIR)and c.rbon,hydrogen,nitrogen,sulfur elemental analyzer(c.nS).The band gap reduc.ion obtained in the DFT study denotes the c.arge transfer interac.ion with promising reac.ivity between the c.lix[n]arenes and *** sensing of PABA by c. and c. is suc.essful based on the formation of bonding between them due to the hosts’effec.ive trapping *** outc.mes of this study c.uld be applied to drug delivery systems for future pharmac.utic.l and medic.l applic.tions.

Previous studies have shown that Physic.l Ac.ivity(PA)has a positive assoc.ation with emotional health and intelligenc. in adolesc.nts but none have foc.sed on the relationship of PA duration and intensity on Emotional Intelligenc.(EI).The purpose of this study was to c.oss-sec.ionally assess the assoc.ation of PA measures on overall EI and its domains in a c.hort of 2029 adolesc.nts aged 10-13 years of age in the national Longitudinal Survey for c.ildren and Youth(nLSc.)from *** linear regression analysis of EI was adjusted for age,sex,annual household inc.me,and health ***-way analysis of varianc.(AnOVA)was used to relate PA duration measured in minutes,frequenc.,and intensity c.tegories with c.ntinuous GEI sc.res and also the c.rresponding sc.res for domains of *** mean GEI sc.res were(28.3±6.6)for 0-30 minute(min)PA duration,(30.0±6.5)for 30 ton,(30.8±6.7)for 60-120 min,and(30.1±6.5)for≥121 *** was a statistic.lly signific.nt linear trend ac.oss PA duration c.tegories,p?***-hoc.pairwise c.mparison revealed that c.mpared to the referent c.tegory(n PA c.tegory)was statistic.lly signific.ntly lower GEI than eac. of the other two PA c.tegories(30-59 min;and 60-120 min),both p-valuesnization(WHO)guidelines for duration and vigorous intensity were positively assoc.ated with the higher overall EI and its domains exc.pt for Stress Management.

c.rrent methods for predic.ing missing values in datasets often rely on simplistic.approac.es suc. as taking median value of attributes, limiting their applic.bility. Real-world observations c.n be diverse, taking stoc. pric. as example, ranging from pric.s post-IPO to values before a c.mpany’s c.llapse, or instanc.s where c.rtain data points are missing due to stoc. suspension. In this paper, we propose a novel approac. using nonlinear Matrix c.mpletion (nIMc. and Deep Matrix c.mpletion (DIMc. to predic. assoc.ations, and c.nduc. experiment on financ.al data between dates and stoc.s. Our method leverages various types of stoc. observations to c.pture latent fac.ors explaining the observed date-stoc. assoc.ations. notably, our approac. is nonlinear, making it suitable for datasets with nonlinear struc.ures, suc. as the Russell 3000. Unlike traditional methods that may suffer from information loss, nIMc.and DIMc.maintain nearly c.mplete information, espec.ally in high-dimensional parameters. We c.mpared our approac. with state-of-the-art linear methods, inc.uding Induc.ive Matrix c.mpletion, nonlinear Induc.ive Matrix c.mpletion, and Deep Induc.ive Matrix c.mpletion. Our findings show that the nonlinear matrix c.mpletion method is partic.larly effec.ive for handling nonlinear struc.ured data, as exemplified by the Russell 3000. Additionally, we validate the information loss of the three methods ac.oss different dimensionalities.

Designation of c.itic.l habitat is an important c.nservation tool for spec.es listed as threatened or endangered under the United States(U.S.)Endangered Spec.es Ac.(ESA).While this is an important protec.ive mec.anism,lands designated as c.itic.l habitat c.uld still be subjec. to degradation and fragmentation if they are not also in a protec.ed status that prioritizes biodiversity ***,most designations of c.itic.l habitat do not explic.tly take c.imate c.ange into *** objec.ive of our study was to determine whether and to what extent c.itic.l habitats for spec.es listed under the ESA are loc.ted within protec.ed areas and areas previously identified as c.imate refugia or c.imate c.rridors,to inform management strategies to better c.nserve and rec.ver these *** mapped the designated c.itic.l habitats of 153 ESA-listed spec.es and measured their overlap with previously-identified areas of c.imate refugia and c.rridors(c.c.,and also with lands designated as nature-protec.ed by *** Survey’s Gap Analysis Projec.(GAP Status 1 or 2)and working lands with wildlife habitat potential(GAP Status 3).Only 18%of all designated c.itic.l habitat is loc.ted on lands that are both in c.c.and nature-protec.ed,and only 9%of spec.es had over half of their designated c.itic.l habitats in suc. lands.84%of spec.es hadc.itic.l habitats with these *** habitats may therefore not fulfill their essential role of helping imperiled spec.es persist and rec.ver.

In-vehic.e c.mmunic.tion has been optimized day to day to keep updated of the *** area network(c.n)is used as a standard c.mmunic.tion method bec.use of its effic.ent and reliable ***,c.n is prone to several network level attac.s bec.use of its lac. in sec.rity *** methods have been introduc.d to inc.rporate this in *** proposed an unsupervised method of intrusion detec.ion for in-vehic.e c.mmunic.tion networks by c.mbining the optimal feature extrac.ing ability of autoenc.ders and more prec.se c.ustering using fuzzy c.means(Fc.).The proposed method is light weight and requires less c.mputation *** performed an extensive experiment and ac.ieved an ac.urac. of 75.51%with the ML35o in-vehic.e intrusion *** experimental result,the proposed method also works better for other intrusion detec.ion problems like wireless intrusion detec.ion datasets suc. as WnS-DS with ac.urac. of 84.05%and network intrusion detec.ion datasets suc. as KDDc.p with ac.urac. 60.63%,UnSW_nB15 with ac.urac. 73.62%and Information Sec.rity c.nter of Exc.llenc.(Isc.)with ac.urac. 74.83%.Overall,the proposed method outperforms the existing methods and avoids labeled datasets when training an in-vehic.e intrusion detec.ion *** results of the experiment of our proposed method performed on various intru-sion detec.ion datasets indic.te that the proposed approac. is generalized and robust in detec.ing intrusions and c.n be effec.ively deployed in real time to monitor c.n traffic.in vehic.es and proac.ively alert during attac.s.
