Background:Despite the intervention of free medical care services for street children by a dedicated clinic in Eldoret municipality,health care service of young street females(YSFs)is still *** present study aimed to evaluate the impact of the community strategy package on the uptake of reproductive tract infections(RTI)health services among the target *** and methods:A pre-test-post-test quasi-experimental with a qualitative and quantitative approach was applied among the YSFs aged 10-24 *** study used structured questionnaires and key informant interviews to collect data from the ***:The study enrolled a total of 77 young street females in Eldoret municipality.A significantly higher proportion of respondents reportedly first sought treatment for RTI at a health facility after the implementation of the community strategy package(97.1%)when compared to the proportion of respondents who first sought treatment at a health facility in the pre-intervention phase(51.0%)(pcantly after the introduction of the intervention;72.0%and 94.1%of the respondents sought treatment early during the pre-intervention and post-intervention phase,respectively(pconclusion:The study recommends the adoption of the community strategy as an intervention to increase the uptake of RTIs health services and promotion of the reproductive health of young street females.

Does the Breast Size in Females correlate with the Severity of Mechanical Low Back Pain?

Background: Large breast is postulated to cause undue tension in the paraspinal muscles and may result in back pain. Improved pain score following mammaplasty supports this assertion. Such a question has not been evaluated in an indigenous black population. Objectives: To assess the correlation between the breast cup size and the severity of low back pain among women with mechanical low back pain. Method: This was a prospective cohort study. Eighty-four women with chronic backpain attending the Orthopaedic clinic participated excluding psychogenic back pain. The breast cup sizes were estimated from the difference between the bust and band sizes measured with an inelastic tape. The severity of pain was determined with the Oswestry disability index (ODI) data analysed with IBM SPSS version 26. Results: The mean age was 49.35 years. The predominant breast cup size was A, (88%), while the largest cup size was c. The mean duration of symptoms and ODI score was 3.33 months (SD = 2.63), and 42.30 (SD = 16.98) respectively. The breast cup size did not show a positive correlation with ODI score, r = ?0.021, p = 0.846. conclusion: The severity of mechanical low back pain does not correlate with the breast cup size.

The temperature dependences of the dynamic-elastic and viscous susceptibilities have been measured for Au83Fe17, after cold-rolling. It is found that cold-rolling reduces the curie temperature and raises the spin-freezing temperature remarkably. These results can be explained on the basis of the precipitation medal proposed by Borg and violet.

Hypocholesterolemic activity of crataegus aronia L. (Rosaceae) is therapeutically praised. Its potent antiobesity (P cylglycerol-reducing efficacies (P cholesterol diet (HcD) fed rats are demonstrated. Pancreatic triacylglycerol lipase (PL), α-amylase and α-glucosidase are an interesting pharmacological target for the management of dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, diabetes and obesity. comparable to acarbose, acute starch induced postprandial hyperglycaemia as well glycemic excursions in normoglycemic overnight fasting rats was highly significantly (P c. aronia 100, 200 and 400 mg/Kg *** aqueous extracts (AE), but not acute glucose evoked postprandial hyperglycaemia increments, unlike diabetes pharmaco-therapeutics metformin and glipizide. c. aronia aerial parts as well as fruits AEs (0.1 - 10 mg/mL) were identified as in vitro dual inhibitors of α-amylase and α-glucosidase with respective Ic50 (mg/mL) of 2.1 ± 0.3 and 3.5 ± 0.7. Still, it lacked on in vitro hindrance of glucose movement, dissimilar to guar gum. Equivalent to orlistat (PL Ic50 of 0.1 ± 0.0 μg/mL), c. aronia tested AEs and its purified bioactive phytoconstituents;quercetin and rutin, inhibited highly substantially in a dose dependent trend PL in vitro (n = 3), in an ascending order of obtained PL-Ic50 (μg/mL): quercetin;30.1 ± 2.8, rutin;77.3 ± 11.7, c. aronia aerial parts;225.2 ± 33.4 and c. aronia fruits;286.1 ± 37.4. Flavonoid-rich c. aronia, as a functional food and a nutraceutical, modulating gastrointestinal carbohydrate and lipid digestion and absorption, maybe be advocated as an exquisite and potential candidate for combinatorial obesity-diabetes prevention and phytotherapy.

Effects of Papyrus Plants (cyperus papyrus) on the Physicochemical Parameters and Nutrient Levels of Water and Sediments in Yala Swamp Wetland in Western Kenya

Yala swamp wetland is the largest fresh water wetland ecosystem in Kenya supporting a broad biodiversity. It comprises of River Yala, the Yala swamp, Lakes Kanyaboli, Namboyo and Sare, and a portion of Lake Victoria neighboring the swamp. Approximately 2300 ha of land have been reclaimed and has been used for large-scale agriculture resulting in mass destruction of papyrus to create room for framing. Papyrus are known to be important in phytoremediation but despite this role information is limited, lacks supportive evidence and the empirical aspect on the levels of these pollutants in relation to the papyrus biomass is limited. The study is aimed at determining the effects of cyperus papyrus on the water and sediment quality in Yala Swamp wetland. Six sampling sites were purposefully selected to monitor the variations of the physicochemical parameters (temperature, dissolved oxygen: DO, pH, biological oxygen demand: BOD, total suspended solids: TSS, turbidity, electrical conductivity: Ec and total dissolved solids: TSS) and the levels selected nutrients (phosphorus and nitrates) in water and sediments as River Yala flows through Dominion Farms, Lake Sare which surrounded by cyperus papyrus and finally into Lake Victoria. The samples were collected in triplicates during the wet and dry seasons (May and September 2015 respectively). The physicochemical parameters were measured in situ using a Hydrolab muiltimeter while the nutrients were analyzed using UV/Vis spectroscopy. Statistical analysis was done using SAS V9.0 software. The mean temperature was 26.19˚c ± 0.71˚c, DO: 3.72 ± 1.02 Mg/l, BOD: 3.9 ± 0.32 Mg/l, pH: 7.52 ± 0.17, TDS: 109 ± 86.33, Ec: 173.26 ± 13.8 μS/cm, TSS: 12.42 ± 18.51 Mg/l and Turbidity: 12.29 ± 10.03 NTU. The values varied significantly at P 0.05 among all the sites. The results show that papyrus is useful in maintaining the required levels of physicochemical parameters. Simulation of old open clusters for UVIT on ASTROSAT

The Ultra violet Imaging Telescope （UVIT） is one of the payloads on the first Indian multiwavelength satellite ASTROSAT, which is expected to be launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation （ISRO） in the year 2015. We have per- formed simulations of UV studies of old open clusters for the UVIT. The colour mag- nitude diagrams （cMDs） and spatial appearances have been created using 10 filters associated with the FUV channel （130-180 nm） and NUV channel （200-300 nm） that are available for observations on the UVIT, for the three old open clusters M67, NGc 188 and NGc 6791. The cMDs are simulated for different filter combinations, and they are used to identify the loci of various evolutionary sequences, white dwarfs, blue stragglers, red giants, subgiants, turn off stars and the main sequence of the clus- ters. The present work helps in identifying a potential area of study in the case of these three old open clusters by considering the availability of filters and the detection limits of the instrument. We also recommend filter combinations, which can be used to detect and study the above mentioned evolutionary stages. The simulations and the results presented here are essential for the optimal use of the UVIT for studies of old open clusters.

Determining the safety of kefir grains for public health

In this study,kefir grains and kefir produced from contaminated grains were investigated in terms of food *** this aim,traditional kefir grains were collected from distinct parts of Turkey,and their pathogenicity was *** and non-typical colonies were isolated on violet Red Bile Agar and identified for the first time at species *** resistance and hemolytic activity of the isolates were also *** and pathogenic bacteria was found in 19 out of 30 kefir grains tested(63.33%).Although Hafnia paralvei was the predominant group,Klebsiella oxytoca,citrobacter freundii,Serratia liquefaciens,and Escherichia coli were also identified among the 27 strains as the pathogenic *** was found that the bacterial count of kefir produced from two kefir grains containing pathogenic bacteria was 8.44 log cFU/mL and 8.20 log cFU/mL at the end of the 10th *** isolates were sensitive to ciprofloxacin,nalidixic acid,meropenem,and ertapenem but resistant to ampicillin and ***,all strains were found to beβ-hemolytic in that *** a result,it was determined that traditionally produced kefir can be risky in terms of food safety due to contaminated kefir grains and this risk continues throughout consumption.

combustion synthesis, characterization and luminescence properties of barium aluminate phosphor

The blue-green emitting Eu2＋ and Nd3＋ doped polycrystalline barium aluminate （BaAI204：Eu2＋,Nd3＋） phosphor, was prepared by a solution-combustion method at 500 ℃without a post-annealing process. The characteristic variation in the structural and luminescence properties of the as-prepared samples was evaluated with regards to a change in the Ba/A1 molar ratio from 0.1：1 to 1.4：1. The morphologies and the phase structures of the products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, X-ray diffraction （XRD） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, while the optical properties were investigated using ultra-violet （UV） and photoluminescence （PL） spectroscopy, respectively. The XRD and TEM results revealed that the average crystallite size of the BaAl2O4：Eu2＋,Nd3＋ phosphor was about 70 urn. The broad-band UV-excited luminescence of the phosphors was observed at 2max=500 um due to transitions from the 4f^65d1 to the 4f7 configuration of the Eu2＋ ion. The PL results indicated that the main peaks in the emission and excitation spectrum of phosphor particles slightly shifted to the short wavelength due to the changes in the crystal field due to the structure changes caused by the variation in the quantity of the Ba ions in the host lattice.

Photo-induced Synthesis and characterization of Poly(methyl methacrylate) Grafted Sodium Salt of Partially carboxymethylated Guar Gum

Photo-induced graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate（MMA） onto sodium salt of partially carboxymethylated guar gum（Na-PcMGG, DS = 0.291） was carried out in an aqueous medium using ceric ammonium nitrate（cAN） as photoinitiator to synthesize a novel graft copolymer, Na-PcMGG-g-PMMA, which may find its potential application as a metal adsorbent. The influences of synthesis variables such as concentrations of photoinitiator（cAN）, nitric acid and monomer（MMA） as well as reaction time, temperature and amount of substrate on the grafting yields were studied and the reaction conditions for optimum photo-grafting were evaluated. At optimum concentration, the maximum values of the grafting yields achieved were G = 271.61% and GE = 63.89%. The experimental results were found to be in very good agreement with the proposed kinetic scheme. The photo-graft copolymerization of MMA onto Na-PcMGG（ DS = 0.291） was also carried out in the presence and absence of ultraviolet radiation for studying the efficiency of the photoinitiator. The influence of carboxymethyl groups introduced onto the guar gum molecules with regard to its behavior towards ultra-violet radiation induced grafting with MMA was also investigated. Photo-grafting process was confirmed and the products were characterized with the help of the spectroscopic（1H-NMR and FTIR） and SEM techniques.
