Microbiological Quality of Asadero cheese Manufactured with a Plant Based coagulant from <i>Solanum elaeagnifolium</i>

In chihuahua, north Mexico, the berries of Solanum elaeagnifolium (trompillo or silverleaf nightshade) have been used in the manufacture of artisanal filata-type asadero cheese. Solanum elaeagnifolium is a wild plant that possesses proteases in its fruit;those enzymes exhibit general proteolytic activities, which are useful in traditional asadero cheesemaking as a rennet substitute. These type of cheese is softer than those made with rennin or chymosin due to their water content and proteolysis. Thus, the aim of this work was to explore microbiological susceptibility of asadero cheese made with an extract from ripe berries and compared with those elaborated with commercial rennet. crude extract of such fruit was obtained by salting out with ammonium sulfate (40%). cheeses were obtained by a standardized process only changing the enzyme, packaged in plastic bag or vacuum bag and storage at 4℃ -?6℃. The study included the analysis of spoilage bacteria (total aerobic count, yeasts and molds), indicators of hygiene (total coliforms and E. coli) and fecal contamination (fecal coliforms) after 1, 7, 14, 21 and 28 days of production. Although cheese made with S. elaeagnifolium had lower microbial growth, the aerobic count and yeasts and molds count of all cheese samples showing a 28 days shelf life. Total coliforms, in limits beyond the established ones by the Mexican legislation for human consumption with no effect of the enzyme type used for production, as well as for fecal coliforms. Differences were detected just for packaged method, suggesting that good manufacturing practices take place not the plant coagulant.

MicroRNAs dysregulation in hepatocellular carcinoma: Insights in genomic medicine

Hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc) is the leading primary liver cancer and its clinical outcome is still poor. MicroRNAs(mi RNAs) have demonstrated an interesting potential to regulate gene expression at post-transcriptional level. current findings suggest that mi RNAs deregulation in cancer is caused by genetic and/or epigenetic, transcriptional and post-transcriptional modifications resulting in abnormal expression and hallmarks of malignant transformation: aberrant cell growth, cell death, differentiation, angiogenesis, invasion and metástasis. The important role of mi RNAs in the development and progression of Hcc has increased the efforts to understand and develop mechanisms of control overt this single-stranded RNAs. Several studies have analyzed tumoral response to the regulation and control of deregulated mi RNAs with good results in vitro and in vivo, proving that targeting aberrant expression of mi RNAs is a powerful anticancer therapeutic. Identification of up and/or down regulated mi RNAs related to Hcc has led to the discovery of new potential application for detection of their presence in the affected organism. Mi RNAs represent a relevant new target for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment in a wide variety of pathologic entities, including Hcc. This manuscript intends to summarize current knowledge regarding mi RNAs and their role in Hcc development.

Post-myocardial infarction(MI),the left ventricle(Lv)undergoes a series of events collectively referred to as *** a result,damaged myocardium is replaced with fibrotic tissue consequently leading to contractile dysfunction and ultimately heart *** remodeling post-MI includes inflammatory,fibrotic,and neovascularization responses that involve regulated cell recruitment and *** cells(Scs)have been transplanted post-MI for treatment of Lv remodeling and shown to improve Lv function by reduction in scar tissue formation in humans and animal models of *** promising results obtained from the application of Scs post-MI have sparked a massive effort to identify the optimal Sc for regeneration of cardiomyocytes and the paradigm for clinical *** Sc transplantations are generally associated with new tissue formation,Scs also secrete cytokines,chemokines and growth factors that robustly regulate cell behavior in a paracrine fashion during the remodeling *** this review,the different types of Scs used for cardiomyogenesis,markers of differentiation,paracrine factor secretion,and strategies for cell recruitment and delivery are addressed.

Introduction: A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is caused by a forceful bump, blow, or jolt to the head or body, or by an object that pierces the skull and interrupts the normal function of the brain. Severe TBI is estimated at 73 cases per 100,000 people. The mortality of severe TBI can be reduced if a timely diagnosis and treatment of the injuries are made through prognostic factors. Objective: To determine the prognostic factors related to mortality in severe traumatic brain injury at the Hospital General de Zona No. 46. Material and Methods: Retrospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study in beneficiaries admitted to the Hospital General de Zona (HGZ) No. 46 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS by its acronym in Spanish), with a diagnosis of severe TBI;the possible prognostic factors related to mortality of severe TBI were obtained from their records. Measures of central tendency and chi square were used for data analysis. Results: The study sample consisted of 60 subjects diagnosed with severe traumatic brain injury, of which 5 (8%) were women and 55 (92%) were men, and all 60 (100%) patients died. The average age of the sample was 26 with a standard deviation of 9 years. The variables that had a p value less than or equal to 0.05 were: Mydriasis, seizures, Hyperglycemia, Normoglycemia, Hypothermia and Hypotension. This means that these variables were associated with mortality. conclusion: Statistical significance is demonstrated in prognostic factors of mortality in severe traumatic brain injury with p case of mydriasis, seizures, hyperglycemia, normoglycemia, hypothermia and hypotension.

在大豆-玉米轮作生产过程中,玉米杂苗会与大豆苗竞争水和肥料,而且很容易遮住大豆苗,影响害虫(如玉米根虫)的防控,降低大豆品质。因此,在大豆幼苗期及时检测出玉米杂苗并对其进行处理非常重要。传统的人工检测方法主观性强、效率低,传感器和算法的发展为自动检测玉米杂苗提供了更好的解决方案。本研究在温室环境下模仿田间条件,待玉米和大豆发芽后,连续5天用因特尔RealSense D435相机采集彩色图像,并人工裁剪幼苗图像区域,在此基础上对图像进行分割和去噪。在采集图像形状、色彩和纹理特征值后,对所采集的特征值进行权重分析,保留前10种重要的特征值导入基于特征的机器学习算法中进行模型训练和预测。预测结果表明,支持向量机模型(SvM)、神经网络(NN)和随机森林(RF)的预测精度分别为85.3%,81.5%和82.6%。将数据集导入GoogLeNet和vGG-16两种深度学习模型进行训练,预测精度分别为96.0%和96.2%。vGG-16模型在区分大豆幼苗和玉米杂苗中有较好的表现,彩色图像和vGG-16模型组成的系统可以自动检测大豆生长过程中玉米杂苗的情况,为农民提供准确的信息,帮助其进行生产决策和田间管理。

Rapid HPLc Method for Monitoring Relevant Residues of Pharmaceuticals Products in Environmental Samples

This work presents a multi-residue analytical method based on solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLc) with diode array (DAD) detection for the simultaneous determination of a group of pharmaceutical products that include ten antidepressants and three anticanceri- genic in environmental samples (water and soil). Baseline separation of the studied compounds was obtained on an ultrabase c18 (4.6 mm i.d. × 150 mm, 5 μm particle) column using acetonitrile:phosphate buffer pH 2.5 (35:65 v/v) as mobile phase with a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min. Different aspects including linearity, accuracy, precision and detection and quantification limits were examined in order to validate the proposed method. Detection limits between 1 and 50 ng/mL were obtained for all the target compounds. This method was ap- plied to the analysis of environmental samples as waters and soils of different precedence. Prior, the HPLc determination the samples were purified and enriched using SPE or liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) of the tar- get compounds.

The wing tip vortex has a great similarity with the swirling *** these are generated of a simpler and more economic form in a laboratory,it is relevant to determine which the best method is for the generation of the swirling *** this paper,the velocity distribution obtained experimentally with the method of generation here proposed,which consists of the employment of an axial fan without stators,is compared with the velocity distribution of swirling jets generated with three different *** is observed that the velocity distribution obtained with the proposed method is similar with one of the methods found in the references,which uses fixed blades guides at the entry of the *** proposed method is suitable for the generation of the swirling jet and it is considered that it is simpler and more economic to use blades fixed guides.

Safety and Efficacy of Oral Mirodenafil in Mexican with Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is treated with 5-phospodiesterase inhibitors as Mirodenafil, which has shown its efficacy and safety in Koreans, however;no information in other populations is available. An open clinical trial study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety in real life of a fixed-dose of Mirodenafil in Mexican patients with erectile dysfunction. Forty-seven male patients received a 100 mg tablet of Mirodenafil, during 12 weeks. Primary outcome efficacy measure was the percentage of male patients with successful intercourse. Secondary outcomes measures included patient satisfaction, mood and self-esteem level. Safety assessments included laboratory tests, vital signs, physical examination, 12-lead electrocardiogram recordings, and incidence of adverse events by patients. Oral administration of Mirodenafil improved in an 80% - 90% the number of successful intercourses from 7 to 84 days of treatment. Moreover, patients reported a significant increment in their sexual satisfaction, mood and self-esteem. Mirodenafil treatment did not modify vital signs nor anthropometric parameters during 84 days. Mild headache was the most frequent adverse event (17.0%) and there were no severe adverse events during pharmacological treatment. Data suggest that oral Mirodenafil is safety, well tolerated and effective in the Mexican population with erectile dysfunction.

The nature of organochlorine pesticides (OcP) and their physical-chemical properties exert immediate action of control on live systems, which has justified their use in agricultural practices. Their long life makes them a persistent ecological aggressor and biomagnifier. They reach foods by biotic and abiotic means, and are absorbed and accumulate in adipose tissue. In lactation processes, they are excreted in milk through the mobilization of fats. Diverse studies have identified them as neurotoxic, affecting reproductive processes, altering the immunological response and act as endocrine disruptors. An analysis was made of the content of organochlorine pesticides in twenty-one samples of infant milk formulas marketed in the south of Mexico city in 2010. The determinations were made following the protocols of the International Dairy Federation, by means of gas chromatography with electron capture detector, and the majority presence was found of α-HcH (100%), β-HcH (95.2%), γ-HcH (90.5%), aldrin (85.7%), heptachlor (80.9%) and heptachlor epoxide (80.9%) with mean values of 0.24, 0.13, 0.32, 0.62, 0.92 and 0.18 μg/kg of fat, respectively;all below the limits permitted by the codex Alimentarius. With null or lower recurrence and in lowerquantities, the family of DDT, endrin, endrin aldehyde and the endosulphanes were quantified.
