Natural swarms arranged from cells to herds are usually decentralized but display intriguing collective intelligence in coordinating individuals across large scales to efficiently achieve their common goals. Learning from nature may provide new strategies for controlling collective dynamics of synthetic swarms to accomplish specific functions. Here, we present a bioinspired computational framework that steers distributed active swarms to collectively capture and merge targets via reinforcement learning. We exploit collective milling structures of natural herds to cage the targets, and adopt a switching control policy inspired by sperms' chiral dynamics to optimize the trajectories of individuals, through which the active swarms can selforganize to enclose single or multiple distant targets in a dynamical, adaptive and scalable manner. There exists a critical swarm size, beyond which the excessive competition between agents would generate large mechanical forces, leading to capture instability but enabling the transition from short-distance to long-distance merging capture of multiple targets. This work provides physical insights into distributed active swarms and could offer a multilevel, decentralized strategy toward controlling swarm robotics in wide applications such as bio-medical devices, machine immunity, and target clearance.

In patients with Alzheimer’s disease,gamma-glutamyl transferase 5(GGT5)expression has been observed to be downregulated in cerebrovascular endothelial ***,the functional role of GGT5 in the development of Alzheimer’s disease remains *** study aimed to explore the effect of GGT5 on cognitive function and brain pathology in an APP/PS1 mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease,as well as the underlying *** observed a significant reduction in GGT5 expression in two in vitro models of Alzheimer’s disease(Aβ_(1-42)-treated hcMEc/D3 and bEnd.3 cells),as well as in the APP/PS1 mouse ***,injection of APP/PS1 mice with an adeno-associated virus encoding GGT5 enhanced hippocampal synaptic plasticity and mitigated cognitive ***,increasing GGT5 expression in cerebrovascular endothelial cells reduced levels of both soluble and insoluble amyloid-βin the brains of APP/PS1 *** effect may be attributable to inhibition of the expression ofβ-site APP cleaving enzyme 1,which is mediated by nuclear factor-kappa *** findings demonstrate that GGT5 expression in cerebrovascular endothelial cells is inversely associated with Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis,and that GGT5 upregulation mitigates cognitive deficits in APP/PS1 *** findings suggest that GGT5 expression in cerebrovascular endothelial cells is a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for Alzheimer’s disease.

Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury（HIRI） is characterized by mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. Monitoring mitochondrial hydrogen peroxide（mtH2O2） levels in real-time through super-resolution imaging is crucial for elucidating its distribution in live cells and its mechanism of action during HIRI. However, low-background fluorogenic probes have been overlooked in the context of super-resolution imaging. In this study, we developed a low-background fluorogenic probe（MitoWG） with the potential for super-resolution morphology-correlated mitochondrial identification to track the fluctuates of mtH2O2in HIRI. Activation of the desirable fluorescence properties of the probe by mtH2O2was confirmed using structural illumination microscopy（SIM）, enabling high-quality mitochondrial imaging with exceptional specificity and *** in mtH2O2levels were successfully observed in both cellular and rat models of HIRI. Furthermore, we associated the decline in mitochondrial redox homeostasis with accelerated mtH2O2production during HIRI, which triggered mitophagy deficiency and led to cell death. In conclusion, Mito-WG possesses excellent photophysical and low-background properties for SIM imaging, making it a promising tool for mtH2O2tracking in HIRI research and clinical diagnosis.

This study aimed to investigate the moment redistribution in continuous glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)-concrete composite slabs caused by concrete cracking and steel bar yielding in the negative bending moment *** experimental bending moment redistribution test was conducted on continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs,and a calculation method based on the conjugate beam method was *** composite slabs were formed by combining GFRP profiles with a concrete layer and supported on steel beams to create two-span continuous composite slab *** methods,epoxy resin bonding,and stud connection,were used to connect the composite slabs with the steel *** experimental findings showed that the specimen connected with epoxy resin exhibited two moments redistribution phenomena during the loading process:concrete cracking and steel bar yielding at the internal *** contrast,the composite slab connected with steel beams by studs exhibited only one-moment redistribution phenomenon throughout the loading *** the concrete at the internal support cracked,the bending moment decreased in the internal support section and increased in the midspan *** the steel bars yielded,the bending moment further decreased in the internal support section and increased in the mid-span *** GFRP profiles do not experience cracking,there was no significant decrease in the bending moment of the mid-span *** test specimens experienced compressive failure of concrete at the mid-span *** results showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of bending moments in the mid-span section and internal support *** proposed model can effectively predict the moment redistribution behavior of continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs.

Synthesis, Biological Evaluation and Molecular Docking of Novel Phenylpyrimidine Derivatives as Potential Anticancer Agents

Based on our previous researches, a novel phenylpyrimidine pharmacophore model was proposed and fifteen derivatives were synthesized and characterized by means of spectroscopy methods. The inhibitory effects of them were screened against HeLa cell line by virtue of MTT assay in vitro. The results indicate some of the phenyl- pyrimidine derivatives exhibit potent biological activities. Among them, compounds 6g and 6h exhibit the best activity at half maximal inhibitory concentrations of 1.5 and 2.8 μmol/L, respectively. These compotmds also exhibit good activities against HepG2 cell line and McF-7 cell line. FLT-3 kinase was screened as the most potent molecular target. computational docking between compound 6g and FLT-3 was carried ont to interpret the binding mode. The results show phenylpyrimidine derivatives have effective antitumor activities, which provides a base for further research of them as antitumor agents.

Double carbohelicenes have attracted considerable attention due to their aesthetic structures, distinct π-conjugation extension, inherent chirality, and intriguing optical and electronic properties. Herein, the concise de novo synthesis of a new double[5]carbohelicene 1 together with its chiroptical properties, isomerization process and lasing application is presented. 1 was synthesized by a simple protocol involving the formation of a 6,6′-bipentacene as the key intermediate. It is worth noting that1 existed as two diastereomers 1-PP/MM and 1-PM, which were successfully isolated and unambiguously confirmed by Xray crystallography. The optical resolution of the racemic 1-PP/MM was successfully achieved by chiral-phase highperformance liquid chromatography（HPLc）, and 1-PP and 1-MM were characterized by circular dichroism. Interestingly, it was found that 1-PP/MM could be completely isomerized to 1-PM upon heating, and the detailed thermodynamics and kinetics of the isomerization process were systematically investigated. 1-PM exhibited deep-red luminescence with emission maximum at 723 nm and fluorescence quantum yield as high as 32.95%. consequently, we can showcase the lasing application of 1-PM by doping with epoxy resin to assemble a bottle microlaser spontaneously, which the lasing wavelength is 796.6 nm at a threshold of 0.8 m J cm-2. We believe that our studies, including the facile synthesis methodology, detailed isomerization studies, and lasing application, will shed some light on the design and synthesis of novel carbohelical systems with more functions.
