Insecticides from different chemical groups were tested by laboratory bioassay to verify the percentage mortality of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner 1808) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). The experiment was conducted in the Crop Science laboratory—Prof. CinobelinaElvas Campus—UFPI, Bom Jesus, PI, from January to June, 2013. The populations utilized came from the University’s own insect breeding laboratories. Third instar larvae of H. armigera were used to conduct the bioassay. The experimental design was fully randomized, with 13 treatments and four replications. Five larvae were used per replication, with 12 insecticides from 9 different chemical groups and a control. Each treatment consisted of three doses. The methods of application used were topical contact and ingestion in artificial diet. According to the results the percentage mortality of H. armigera larvae varied among the treatments. The results demonstrated that chlorpyrifos and spinosad were effective against third instar H. armigera larvae both on contact and by ingestion. Flubendiamide, acephate, methomyl, Bacillus thuringiensis, dimethoate, chlorantraniliprole and fipronil had good responses to control of H. armigera.

The Meconial Aspiration Syndrome (MAS) is a complication caused by the presence of meconium amniotic fluid with consequent aspiration, being responsible for important rates of perinatal morbidity and mortality. This study aims to analyze the bibliographical production on newborn care with meconium elimination in the delivery room. It was a literature integrative review electronically based. Most of the studies referred to tracheal intubation and exogenous surfactant ministration as main care methods. The Meconium Aspiration Syndrome is presented as main theme. It is understood that health care professionals must develop knowledge, skills and actions, showing conduct based on scientific, critical and reflexive knowledge with purposeful interventions directed to the patient’s needs.

Evaluation of the Size and Location of the Genial Plexus,Related to Age,Sex and dental Presence,in Implant Surgeries

Generally being considered as a safe area for surgical approaches, the region between the mental foramina presents important anatomical structures. The objective of this study was to measure the dimensions of the genial plexus and its three-dimensional location in CBCT images, correlating the characteristics of this structure with dental presence, sex and age of patients. A total of 149 cone beam computer tomography (CBCT) scans of dentate (n = 74) and edentulous patients (n = 75) were selected, 59 male and 90 female, aged 18 - 86 years. Measurements of width and length of the genial canal were performed, and the shortest distances of the genial plexus were determined in relation to the alveolar bone crest, the buccal cortical bone and the base of the mandible. The results indicated significant differences between the dentate and edentulous groups for the mandibular canal length (p = 0.030), distance from alveolar crest (p dentate patients. As for gender, the distances between the genial plexus and the alveolar bone crest (p der patients. It can be concluded that there are variations of the genial plexus in relation to gender, age and between edentulous and dentate patients. Therefore, the anterior region of the mandible, especially the midline should be observed with caution when undergoing surgical procedures, such as removal of bone grafts and installation of dental implants.

Sickle cell anemia (SCA) is a genetically inherited hemolytic disorder characterized by chronic inflammation. Cytokine expression affects the pivotal pathways that contribute to disease pathogenesis, but the mechanisms involved are not well understood. SCA is associated with a proinflammatory state, and an enhanced inflammatory response occurs during vasoocclusive crisis. The immune system thus plays an important role in this inflammatory condition, with several cell types secreting pro-inflammatory cytokines that contribute to the occurrence of common cyclical events in SCA patients, such as hemolysis, vascular occlusion and inflammation. Studies of these cytokines and chemokines in SCA patients have clarified the mechanisms that underlie this disease and highlighted the need for a better understanding of cytokine participation in SCA pathophysiology.

Factors Associated with Umbilical Cord Stump Healing Practices: Literature Review

Objective: To analyze the evidence in the evolution of scientific production on the factors associated with curative practices of the umbilical stump. Materials and Methods: The study data collection took place in April 2017. The electronic databases used to search the articles were: PubMed (National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health) and VHL (Virtual Health Library). We used the keywords “perinatal care”, “umbilical cord”, “patient care team”, “neonatology”, “newborn”, in the Portuguese, English and Spanish languages, accompanied by the expression AND and selected through DeCS (Descriptors in Health Sciences). Results: A final sample of 9 articles was obtained from the PubMed and VHL databases, which met the inclusions criteria. It has been found that traditional umbilical stump care practices are still present in many communities, however, have been replaced by appropriate practices, the most recommended being: chlorhexidine 4% sanitation, soap and water and alcohol antisepsis 70%. Conclusions: There is a need for multi-professional involvement, approaching these women since pregnancy, with detailed information and accessible language about proper care with the newborn and the umbilical stump.

目的：尽管计算机导板引导不翻瓣种植体植入的方法拥有巨大优势，但种植体植入无牙颌牙弓的位点偏离原计划位置的风险可能会明显提高。这项研究评估了计算机导板引导下不翻瓣种植手术方法的可靠性与准确性。材料和方法：通过锥体束CT扫描患者术前和术后的颌骨．来比较术前计算机设计的种植体计划植入的位置与实际植入位置的差异。一个非常合适的全口义齿或匹配良好的修复体将被使用或转换成放射模板。在扫描之前，要先进行美学和功能学方面的临床检查。种植体拟植入的位点实际上是由与牙槽骨结构和预期牙齿位置相关的种植体植入规划软件决定的。当种植体植入以后．重新进行锥体束CT扫描。随后．软件会将种植体计划植入和实际植入的图像融合．并且从位置和坐标轴两方面进行比较。通过Kolmogorov—Smirnov检验来评价数据分布的正态性。通过基于上、下颌独立样本的f检验来对不同分组的平均值进行比较。显著性水平固定在5％。结果：运用立体打印外科导板引导方法．将62颗种植体植入14名无牙颌患者颌骨内。由于导板的使用，未观察到种植体植入损伤到任何重要的解剖结构。与计划植入的种植体相比，已经植入的种植体表现出其颈部．中部和尖部区域的平均值与标准差的线性测量在上颌分别为2．17（±087）mm、232（±152）mm、286（±217）mm，在下颌分别为142（±0．76）mm、142（±O76）mm、1．42（±O76）mm。上、下颌的角度偏差分别为193（±O．17）。和185（±0．75）°。上、下颌角度偏差之间的差异不大．但线性偏差在上、下颔之间却有显著的差异。结论：计算机导板引导下不翻瓣手术将会成为无牙颌牙弓重建修复的一种可行的治疗方法。

Subcutaneous Model for the Study of dengue Virus Infection in Immune Competent Mice

Various mouse models to study dengue have been described by different authors, some of them using immunodeficient or some using humanized mice. Our group reported previously a deadly murine model, which used the intracranial inoculum of highly virulent dengue virus (deNV) in immune competent mouse. Here we present a model of immune competent mouse (C57BL/6), infected subcutaneously by the same highly virulent deNV (deNV3 genotype I). In this immunocompetent systemic mice model, the cytokine levels and hematological parameters such as total and differential leukocyte and platelets counts, together with weight loss, were considered important monitoring parameters, allowing a better understanding of the systemic human disease. Mice were inoculated subcutaneously and evaluated by the percentage weight variation as well as the clinical signs. Hematological parameters and cytokines levels were measured and viral titration in brain tissue or serum neutralization was performed to confirm mice infection. The subcutaneously deNV inoculated mice showed weight loss after infection, but they did not show any other clinical signs. The leukocytes and platelets decreased after subcutaneous inoculation. The cytokines TNF alpha and IFN gamma increased after infection in mice. The subcutaneous model provided scope for improved understanding of the dengue pathogenesis, as well as possible mechanism for protection to subsequent mouse infected by intracranial route in mice. This model could be used to study the vertebrate immune response and evaluation of drugs or vaccine against dengue virus.

development of Airfoils Based on Their Aerodynamic Characteristics Using Artificial Neural Networks

One of the main concerns in Engineering nowadays is the development of aircrafts of low consumption and high performance. For this purpose, airfoils are studied and designed to have an elevated lift coefficient and a low drag coefficient, thus generating a highly efficient airfoil. The higher the efficiency value is, the lower the aircraft fuel consumption will be; thus improving its performance. In this sense, this work aims to develop a tool for airfoil creation from some desired characteristics, such as the lift and drag coefficients and maximum efficiency rate, using an algorithm based on an ANN (artificial neural network). In order to do so, a database of aerodynamic characteristics with a total of 300 airfoils was initially collected from the XFoil software. Then, through a routine implemented in the MATLAB software, network architectures of one, two, three and four modules were trained, using the back propagation algorithm and momentum. The cross-validation technique was applied to analyze the results, evaluating which network possesses the lowest value in RMS (root-mean-square) error. In this case, the best result obtained was from the two-module architecture with two hidden neuron layers. The airfoils developed by this network, in the regions with the lowest RMS, were compared to the same airfoils imported to XFoil. The presented work offers as a contribution, in relation to other works involving ANN applied to fluid mechanics, the development of airfoils from their aerodynamic characteristics.

AIM To evaluate bacterial resistance to clarithromycin and fluoroquinolones in Brazil using molecular *** The primary antibiotic resistance rates of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) were determined from November 2012 to March 2015 in the Southern,South-Eastern,Northern,North-Eastern,and Central-Western regions of Brazil. Four hundred ninety H. pylori patients [66% female,mean age 43 years(range: 18-79)] who had never been previously treated for this infection were enrolled. All patients underwent gastroscopy with antrum and corpus biopsies and molecular testing using Geno Type Helico DR(Hain Life Science,Germany). This test was performed to detect the presence of H. pylori and to identify point mutations in the genes responsible for clarithromycin and fluoroquinolone resistance. The molecular procedure was divided into three steps: DNA extraction from the biopsies,multiplex amplification,and reverse hybridization. RESULTS Clarithromycin resistance was found in 83(16.9%) patients,and fluoroquinolone resistance was found in 66(13.5%) patients. There was no statistical difference in resistance to either clarithromycin or fluoroquinolones(P = 0.55 and P = 0.06,respectively) among the different regions of Brazil. Dual resistance to clarithromycin and fluoroquinolones was found in 4.3%(21/490) of patients. The A2147 G mutation was present in 90.4%(75/83),A2146 G in 16.9%(14/83) and A2146 C in 3.6%(3/83) of clarithromycin-resistant patients. In 10.8%(9/83) of clarithromycin-resistant samples,more than 01 mutation in the 23 S r RNA gene was noticed. In fluoroquinolone-resistant samples,37.9%(25/66) showed mutations not specified by the Geno Type Helico DR test. D91 N mutation was observed in 34.8%(23/66),D91 G in 18.1%(12/66),N87 K in 16.6%(11/66) and D91 Y in 13.6%(9/66) of cases. Among fluoroquinolone-resistant samples,37.9%(25/66) showed mutations not specified by the Geno Type Helico DR test. CONCLUSION The H. pylori clarithromycin resistance rate in Brazil is
