The sodium and glucose co-transporter inhibitors type 2 (SGLT2) comprises a new class of hypoglycemic drugs to control type 2 diabetes mellitus, in an attempt to add new non-existing benefits to the so far arising classes. Regarding this new class of drugs, represented by dapaglifozin, canaglifozin and empaglifozin, it is important to highlight the benefits brought by these medications to combat hyperglycemia with insulin-independent mechanisms that are beyond glucose reduction, such as cardiovascular events prevention, reduction in HbA1c, weight loss and blood pressure lowering. Recently, a relevant study (Empa-Reg) brought hope and set the spotlight on the prevention of cardiac events among diabetic patients, which is the main cause of mortality within this group. However, despite coming out as a good treatment option, SGLT2 inhibitors are under constant clinical research and, as a new drug, it should be carefully carried out regarding the long-term effects of glycosuria and other possible side effects, such as the observed increase in the incidence of bladder, breast cancer and bone fractures, which require further studies. Therefore, these compounds might represent a landmark approach for the treatment of diabetes.

随着信息和通信技术(ICT)的发展,全世界公民的日常生活发生了巨大的变化,公共部门的服务质量也有了明显的改善。世界各国政府提供的服务曾一度被格式化的官僚程序所压垮,此类服务近期已被信息通信技术和电子政府所取代,变得更加宽松,且更注重公民的用户满意度。无论何时何地,电子政府都可以为用户提供全天候的公共服务。税收制度是一口无止境的油井,因为它取之于社会并用之于社会。作为一项创新项目,电子税制在贝宁的引入影响了所得税纳税人操作和遵守所得税申报表填写的方式。电子税收系统的引入是由于信息技术的出现,用以提高税收合规水平,无需在税务办公室进行实际操作,也无需与税务人员进行联系。电子税务服务是公民网上报税的重要应用。因此,了解哪些因素影响了纳税人对使用电子税收系统的满意度,对于政府机构进一步提高通过这些系统提供的服务质量是很重要的。然而,迄今为止,致力于评估电子税收系统用户满意度的研究十分有限。本研究将公民对电子税务服务的满意度视为其使用电子税务服务质量的影响因素,如响应及时性、交易指引、交易易用性、个人需求和可靠性。同时,本研究探讨了影响公民对电子税务服务满意度的重要因素:感知电子税务服务、电子税务服务期望、电子税务服务使用行为意愿。它进一步影响了公民对电子税务服务的满意度及其建议。本研究采用混合研究法对收集到的一手资料和二手资料(调查问卷)进行分析和进一步讨论。这种方法允许研究人员对现场所收集的资料进行三角测量和交叉验证。该调查结合了一个案例分析研究,利用税务总局提供的电子税务服务。结果表明,尽管电子纳税服务对公民的满意度存在一定的约束,但公民还是愿意使用电子纳税服务。利用ASCI模型,分析了居民电子纳税服务满意度的影响因素,主要包括响应时间、交易指引、交易易用性、个人需求、行为意向和电子纳税服务的可靠性。进一步研究证实响应及时性、交易指引、交易易用性、个人需求、可靠性对感知的电子税服务质量均有正向影响。感知电子税务服务对行为意愿有正向影响。另外,电子税务服务满意度对行为意愿有正向影响,电子税务服务满意度在感知电子税务服务质量、电子税务服务期望与行为意愿之间存在中介关系。电子税务服务期望是感知电子税务服务质量与行为意愿之间的调节变量。结果表明,公民对电子税务的感知可以克服他们的高期望,有助于提高他们的满意度,这将形成他们持续使用电子纳税服务的意愿。最后,我们为税务总局提供电子税务服务提出了一系列政策建议。

Evaluation of Some New Wine Grape Cultivars under S^o Francisco Valley Conditions

This study aimed to evaluate the performance and characteristics of the grapes as subsidies to the recommendation of new wine grape cultivars for the S^o Francisco Valley. An experiment was carried out in Petrolina, Pernambuco state, during four seasons in 2014 and 2015 and the treatments were represented by 10 cultivars and three breeding selections： Grenache, Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah for red wines and Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and breeding selections 46, 14 and 47 for white wines. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replicates and two useful plants per plot. The following variables were evaluated： sprouting, bud fertility rate, Ravaz index, production, number of clusters, weight, length and width of cluster, weight and volume of 100 berries, soluble solids and titratable acidity. A better balance between production and vigour was obtained in Grenache, Merlot and Tempranillo cultivars, presenting values of 7.56, 6.50 and 5.93, respectively, for Ravaz index. Grenache, Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo were the most productive cultivars with average yields estimated at 10.4, 8.7 and 8.4 ton/ha/season. Selection 14 had longer, wider and less compact clusters, which can reduce clusters rottenness. The percentage of sprouting ranged from 38.13% in selection 14 to 77.6% in cv. Chenin Blanc. The average index of bud fertility was 0.79 cluster/bud, with no significant differences among cultivars. Greater potential for sugar accumulation was found in the selections 14, 46 and 47, while the titratable acidity ranged from 0.63% in cv. Merlot to 0.89% in selection 47. Grenache and Tempranillo have showed potential to obtain adequate yield and balanced vines, while Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabemet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot presented low yield being necessary to select clones more productive and well adapted to the tropical conditions. Introduction: Cutaneous tuberculosis (CTB) is a rare form of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis that, when associated with late diagnosis, worsen the quality of life of the sick individuals. This report presents a case of late diagnosis of CTB. Unusual clinical manifestations retarded the correct tuberculosis diagnosis for more than a year. The immune response elicited by this type of tuberculosis as well as the factors that might contribute to the delay in diagnosis was evaluated and discussed. Methodology: Clinical evaluation and flow cytometric analyses of PBMC were realized for a case of CTB and a healthy individual as a control. Results: M. tuberculosis specific TCD8+ cell response was analyzed by flow cytometry and revealed positive cells for IL-17, IL-10, TGF-β and IDO. The CTB patient presented higher percentage of those cells when compared to a healthy donor. However, TCD8 cells positive for the important protective cytokine, IFN-γ was decreased in the CTB patient. Conclusion. The assessment of the M. tuberculosis specific TCD8+ immune response showed a regulatory/modulatory phenotype with a reduced IFN-γ response when compared to the healthy control that could have contributed to the CTB infection.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are considered non-hematopoietic multipotent stem cells with self-renewal properties and the ability to differentiate into a variety of mesenchymal tissues. Optimal conditions for the culture of these cells have been the subject of investigation for several years. In particular, ideal oxygen tension levels have not been established in the literature. In physiological environments, oxygen tension may vary from 12% in peripheral blood to 1% in the deep zone of cartilage regions. In any case, oxygen tension is considerably lower in vivo when compared with the normal atmosphere of standard cell culture conditions (21%). The objective of this study was to review the literature available on MSC characteristics (cell cycle, survival, proliferation, differentiation, morphology, immunophenotype, cytogenetics) when cultured under hypoxic conditions. Our focus on optimal culture conditions is justified by the key role currently played by these cells in regenerative medicine.

Background:Leishmaniasis causes alterations and lesions in the genital system,which leads to azoospermia and testicular atrophy in animals during the chronic phase of the *** aim of this study was to reveal the kinetics of Leishmania chagasi infection in the genital system of male golden hamsters(Mesocricetus auratus).Methods:Animals were intraperitoneally inoculated with amastigotes from *** different time points animals were euthanized and genital organs processed for histo-pathological,qPCR,cytokines and testosterone detection ***:Our results showed a high parasite load in testis,followed by an increase of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL1-β,TNF-αand IFN-γ,and ***,IL-4 expression was upregulated and basal parasite persistence in testis was observed using the experimental ***:Extracellular amastigotes migrated to the epididymis posing as a potential major factor of parasite persistence and venereal transmission of *** infection in hamsters.

Each Epiphyte on Its Branch: A Comparative Study between Different Phorophytes

Epiphytes are plants that use the mechanical support provided by a host tree, called phorophytes, without emitting haustorial structures. Constituting an important component of the flora, playing an important role in the maintenance of ecosystems, such as water and nutrient cycling, in addition to providing resources, sometimes unique, such as food and shelter, for the canopy fauna. However, the epiphytic flora may show high beta diversity, even when compared with different phorophytes, possibly as a response to the dendromorphological characteristics of the phorophyte. Thus, this work aims to: 1) compare whether the species richness of epiphytes differs in trees with different morphological characteristics, and 2) compare species composition among three tree species. For this, 10 individuals of three tree species were selected: Guaria guidonia, Ficus sp., and Roystonea oleracea. In each individual, the number of species (richness) of vascular epiphytes was recorded and obtained from the species composition. To test differences in richness values between the three trees, we used analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey’s test. To understand whether the epiphyte community formed separate groups according to the tree species used, we used the available non-metric multidimensional scaling method (NMDS). Thirty-four species of epiphytes were found in the 30 phorophytes surveyed. The three tree species showed significantly different richness, with the highest found in Guarea guidonea and the lowest in Roystonea oleraceae. The NMDS showed that epiphytes group the three tree species into distinct groups, although Ficus sp individuals present a transitional community between the two other species. Thus, the results suggest that the differences in the richness and composition of the epiphytic flora of the different phorophytes are influenced by their distinct morphological characteristics.

Elephant grass is a tropical forage plant widely spread in Brazil, used mainly in the livestock sector and in cattle feeding. Because of its high productivity and photosynthetic capacity, this culture has also been considered an alternative source of renewable energy. Six clones of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) were evaluated under five levels of nitrogen fertilization (100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600 kg·N·ha-1), in a randomized-block design with a split-plot arrangement with three replicates, from April 2010 to december 2012, in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes— RJ, Brazil. The objective was to obtain estimates of variation in morpho-agronomic traits and biomass quality. We observed that genotypes Cameroon-Piracicaba and Gua?u I/Z2 have great potential to be used, with maximum dry matter yields of 60.97 and 44.10 t·ha-1 per cut for energy purposes among the studied genotypes.
