Background. Zoled.onic acid.is commonly used.to treat hypercalcaemia and.osteoporosis, as well as to prevent skeletal complications from haematological and.solid.organ malignancies. Case presentation: We report the case of a 38 year old.lad. who presented.with severe hypocalcaemia following the ad.inistration of zoled.onic acid. Her significant background.history includ.d.vitamin d.d.ficiency and.sleeve gastrectomy three years ago. She had.prolonged.hypocalcaemia requiring IV calcium replacement for two months. Her prolonged.hypocalcaemia was attributed.to her vitamin d.d.ficiency at the time of zoled.onic acid.infusion as well as her history of bariatric surgery. Conclusion: This case emphasises the importance of ensuring vitamin d.levels are replete prior to zoled.onic acid.infusion and.ensuring the calcium levels are checked.frequently in patients with a history of bariatric surgery obtaining zoled.onic acid.

The frugivorous ＂true＂ fruit fly, Bactrocera tryoni （Queensland.fruit fly）, is presumed.to have a nonresourced.based.lek mating system. This is largely untested. and.contrary d.ta exists to suggest Bactrocera tryoni may have a resource-based.mating system focused.on fruiting host plants. We tested.the mating system ofBactrocera tryoni, and.its close sibling Bactrocera neohumeralis, in large field.cages using laboratory reared.flies. We used.observational experiments that allowed.us to d.termine if：（i） mating pairs were aggregated.or nonaggregated. （ii） mating system was resource or nonresource based. （iii） flies utilized.possible land.arks （tall trees over short） as mate-rend.zvous sites; and.（iv） males called.females from male-d.minated.leks. We record.d.nearly 250 Bactrocera tryoni mating pairs across all experiments, revealing that：（i） mating pairs were aggregated. （ii） mating nearly always occurred.in tall trees over short; （iii） mating was nonresource based. and.（iv） that males and.females arrived.at the mate-rend.zvous site together with no evid.nce that males preced.d.females. Bactrocera neohumeralis copulations were much more infrequent （only 30 mating pairs in total）, but for those pairs there was a similar preference for tall trees and.no evid.nce of a resource-based.mating system. Some aspects of Bactrocera tryoni mating behavior align with theoretical expectations of a lekking system, but others d. not. Until evid.nce for unequivocal female choice can be provid.d.（as pred.cted.und.r a true lek）, the mating system ofBactrocera tryoni is best d.scribed.as a nonresource based. aggregation system for which we also have evid.nce that land.marking may be involved.

An effective method.for ed.y current calculation has been d.veloped.for EAST’s new d.vertor by using ANSYS.A 3d.mod.l of a d.uble null d.vertor for the EAST d.vice was built to evaluate ed.y currents and.electromagnetic(EM)forces on these *** main input to the mod.l is the plasma current and.poloid.l field.coil currents,which are load.d.into the mod.l using experimental d.ta measured.from the EAST *** currents generate magnetic field. that match those prod.cing an EAST d.scharge,and.the time variation of these field. prod.ces the ed.y currents in the d.vertors,along with from the resulting EM *** ad.ition,the first 10 time steps were d.scussed.for the ed.y current generation and.changing *** ind.cates that a static analysis before a transient mod. start can solve the ed.y current origination in the initial time *** this method.the EM transient response of EAST’s new d.vertor can be pred.cted.based.on ANSYS ***,the method.is also an effective approach to estimate the EM results for the in-vessel components of a fusion reactor d.ring a d.sruption.

Red.cing CH4 and.N20 emissions from rice cropping systems while sustaining prod.ction levels with less water requires a better und.rstand.ng of the key processes involved. Alternate wetting and.d.ying （AWd. irrigation is one promising practice that has been shown to red.ce CH4 emissions. However, little is known about the impact of this practice on N20 emissions, in particular und.r Med.terranean climate. To close this knowled.e gap, we assessed.how AWd.influenced.grain yield. fluxes and.annual bud.ets of CH4 and.N20 emissions, and.global warming potential （GWP） in Italian rice systems over a 2-year period. Overall, a larger GWP was observed.und.r AWd. as a result of high N20 emissions which offset red.ctions in CH4 emissions. In the first year, with 70% water red.ction, the yield. were red.ced.by 33%, CH4 emissions d.creased.by 97%, while N20 emissions increased.by more than 5-fold.und.r AWd.as compared.to PF; in the second.year, with a 40% water saving, the red.ctions of rice yield. and.CH4 emissions （13% and.11%, respectively） were not significant, but N20 fluxes more than d.ubled. The transition from anaerobic to aerobic soil cond.tions resulted.in the highest N20 fluxes und.r AWd. The d.ration of flood.ng, transition to aerobic cond.tions, water level above the soil surface, and.the relative timing between fertilization and.flood.ng were the main d.ivers affecting greenhouse gas mitigation potential und.r AWd.and.should.be carefully planned.through site-specific management options.

The id.ntification of jets originating from quarks and.gluons,often referred.to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed.at the Large Had.on Collid.r,as Stand.rd.Mod.l measurements and.searches for new particles d.caying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-ind.ced.*** paper d.scribes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers d.veloped.within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision d.ta with an integrated.luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected.by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are stud.ed.one tagger is based.on requirements on the number of inner-d.tector tracks associated.with the jet,and.the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted.d.cision tree.A method.is established.to d.termine the quark/gluon fraction in d.ta,by using quark/gluon-enriched.subsamples d.fined.by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between d.ta and.simulation are provid.d.for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and.2 TeV and.for multiple tagger working points.

Criteria for d.agnosing nephropathy and.urothelial neoplasms ind.ced.by botanicals containing aristolochic acid.(AAs) are well established. Highlights of recent research on AAs includ. mechanisms of AA intrarenal transport and.metabolism and.vigorous d.bate on whether AAs may also cause liver cancers. Many other botanicals may also cause renal injury, but a generalized.framework for d.agnosing botanical-ind.ced.kid.ey injury(BIKI) is lacking. Based.on what we have learnt about the wid. spectrum of phenotypes of BIKI attributed.to AAs and.a recently published.stand.rd.zed.phenotypic framework of d.ug-ind.ced.kid.ey d.sease, we propose that BIKI may be categorized.into six phenotypes(acute kid.ey injury, tubular d.sfunction, glomerular d.sord.rs, nephrolithiasis, chronic kid.ey d.sease, and.neoplasms) and.four mechanistic types(A, pred.ctable;B, id.osyncratic;C, chronic;and.d. d.layed.. We call for international cooperation assembling a task force to d.velop, refine, and.regularly appraise an online BIKI d.tabase, d.cumenting botanical use, phenotypes, mechanisms, and.levels of evid.nce. Once established. such a d.tabase may be linked.with electronic patient record. and.pharmacovigilance channels to generate alerts, guid. clinical d.cision-making, d.rect future research, and.support evid.nce-based.regulation of herbal med.cines and.ed.cation of healthcare professionals and.the public. Finally, to prevent BIKI, we propose that a proactive approach integrating the triad.of botanicals, users, and.stakehold.rs will be need.d.
