The Subtropolis room-and-pillar mine extracts the Vanport Limestone(Allegheny Formation,Pennsylvanian System)near Petersburg,*** instability problems associated with excessive concentrations of lateral stress caused the mine operator to implement a change in layout *** mining method has been identified as a stress control layout and has been used by other underground stone mines in the past with varying degrees of *** experience has shown that entry headings advance in the direction of the principal lateral stress,producing lower stress concentrations with better mining *** is important to minimize stress concentrations along the mining front,so an arrowshaped advance is *** technique advances more developments(headings)in a"good"direction and reduces developments(crosscuts)in the"bad direction."As is expected,the stress control layout enhances the potential for shear failures in *** is,therefore,important to focus crosscut engineering interventions that either:(a)lower stress concentrations(for example,an arched roof)or(b)enhance strength of the strata containing the shears(for example,rock reinforcement).This study focuses on observing strata conditions on a regular basis and monitoring the response of these strata to changing geologic and mining conditions through 3d dynamic LidAR scans.

AIM: To assess the relationship between axial length(AL) and intraocular lens(IOL) rotation among eyes receiving a toric IOL and subsequently entered into an online toric back-calculator ***: Retrospective analysis of data collected online via ***, a freely available online toric back-calculator where surgeons enter pre-and postoperative information to help manage residual postoperative *** records were deemed valid with entry of AL and IOL orientation between January 2017 and March *** was determined by a difference of ≥5° between pre-operative intended IOL orientation and actual post-operative IOL *** and magnitude of rotation are presented with means and associated standard deviation(Sd).Linear regression models of this association are ***: Records of 6752 eyes were included in the analysis, of which 74.8% were determined to have a rotated *** magnitude of rotation increased with each millimeter(mm) increase in AL with a mean rotation of 13.3°(Sd: 12.8°) for eyes with AL 20-20.9 mm and a maximum mean rotation of 30.6°(Sd: 30.3°) among eyes with AL 29-29.9 *** linear modeling demonstrated a significant association(Pdard error: 0.159) and R;of ***: Analysis from an online database indicates that toric IOLs inserted into eyes with longer AL are more likely to rotate and to rotate more degrees from the target *** findings from this study are clinically relevant for surgeons implanting toric IOLs.

The present work explores the feasibility of fabricating porous 3d parts in TiAl intermetallic alloy directly from Tie6Ale4V and Al powders. This approach uses a binder jetting additive manufacturing process followed by reactive sintering. The results demonstrate that the present approach is successful for realizing parts in TiAl intermetallic alloy.
