The horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) blades rotation in the steady wind flow is considered. We discuss the problem of determining the blade twist which could guarantee the maximum value of the power coefficient. We define the blade twist as the technological turn of sections of blade around its axis. This turn changes the effective pitch angle of turbine blade along its length. For description of aerodynamic load upon the blades we used the quasi-steady approach. Air velocities of centers of pressure of blade sections are represented when taking into account components induced by flow and vortex. We reduced the functional maximization problem to find the maximum of non-dimensional function. This function is given by Riemann integral depending on section pitch angle and tip speed ratio. We suggested the algorithm for solving the problem under consideration for a given blade shape.

The Pt（IV） complex cis,cis,trans-[Pt（PMSA）2Cl2（OH）2]·2H2O（1）, where PMSA = N-3-pyridinylmethanesulfonamide, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar electric conductivity and IR spectrum. X-ray crystallography revealed that the title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group with unit cell dimensions a = 16.5424（7）, b = 8.6973（3）, c = 16.6079（6） A, β = 117.185（5）° and z = 4. Pt（IV） has an octahedral coordination geometry and the PMSA ligands are coordinated via the pyridine N atom. They are in a transoid orientation between each other and are inclined in the same direction with respect to the Pt-C1-Cli-N-Ni plane at an angle of 64.6（1）° （symmetry operation：（i） 1- x, y, 3/2-z）. The structure is stabilized by a system of hydrogen bonds involving the complex and water molecules.

Objectives: This retrospective study evaluated 1) benefits of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-based chromosomal microarrays (CMAs) in the diagnosis of complete hydatidiform mole (CHM) and partial HM (PHM) in products of conception (POC) and amniotic fluid (AF) specimens, and 2) frequency of whole-genome uniparental disomy (wgUPD) and triploidy in POC and AF specimens received at a US national reference laboratory. Methods: We reviewed consecutive 2138 POC and 3230 AF specimens and identified the cases with wgUPD and triploidy which are associated with molar pregnancy. Results: Of 2138 consecutive POC specimens tested, SNP-based CMA detected wgUPD in 10 (0.47%) and triploidy in 84 (3.93%). Of the 10 wgUPD cases, 9 (90%) were confirmed as CHM. Of 3230 consecutive AF specimens, the array detected wgUPD in 1 case (0.03%) and triploidy in 11 (0.34%). Conclusions: SNP-based microarray allows detection of wgUPD in POC and AF specimens at a US national reference laboratory. Correctly diagnosing HM and differentiating CHM from PHM are important for clinical management. The effective SNP-based CMA detection of wgUPD in CHM may enable physicians to monitor patients at risk for gestational trophoblastic disease and neoplasm. Conventional chromosome analysis of POC has a high failure rate, cannot be performed on formalin-fixed paraffin embedded samples, and cannot detect wgUPD. Further multi-institutional collaborative assessmen on accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and adequate access to SNP-based CMA, may lead this testing platform to be considered as the first-tier analysis tool for POC specimens, including those showing PHM or CHM.

Today＇s industry requires more reliable information on the current status of their hard assets; prognosis for continued usability of systems and better predictability of equipment life cycle maintenance. Therefore, an innovative technique for early detection of potential failure and condition monitoring is urgently required by many engineers. This document describes a novel approach to improve industrial equipment safety, reliability and life cycle management. A new field portable instrument called the ＂IMS （indicator of mechanical stresses）＂ utilizes magneto-anisotropic （＂cross＂） transducers to measure anisotropy of magnetic properties in ferromagnetic material. Mechanical stresses including residual stresses in Ferro-magnetic parts, are ＂not visible＂ to most traditional NDT （non-destructive testing） methods; for example, radiography and ultrasonic inspection. Stress build-up can be the first indicator that something is faulty with a structure. This can be the result of a manufacturing defect; or as assets age and fatigue, stress loads can become unevenly distributed throughout the metal. We outline the evaluation of IMS as a fast screening tool to provide structural condition or deterioration feedback in novel applications for pipelines, petrochemical refinery, cranes, and municipal infrastructure.

Purpose: To evaluate ultrastructural characteristics of lenticule surface extracted during correction of residual myopia in patients after small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE). Methods and material: This study had a prospective, consecutive, comparative design. Sixteen patients (16 eyes) underwent additional intervention for residual myopia correction after SMILE. 16 specimens of removed lenticules underwent morphological examination. Markers and reagents were used to determine actin microfilaments, neutral fats and cell nuclei. The tissue was analyzed in layers in 2D slices form, volumetric z-stacks, or selected areas were formed in orthogonal projections. The surface of the extracted lenticule was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. Patients’ refractive outcomes were measured postoperatively (1 day;1 and 3 months). Results: Postoperatively uncorrected distance visual acuity (20/20 or better) was in 100% cases 3 months after surgery. Ultrastructural studies have shown the difference in surfaces of the newly formed lenticule. Structural changes of the posterior lenticule surface were characterized by ruptures of collagen fibers on its surface, degenerative changes in keratocytes with signs of colliquation necrosis, cell apoptosis and F-actin in cell cytoplasm. Conclusion: Collagen fibers are immersed in the stroma on the anterior surface of the lenticule. There is no complete structure restoration of collagen fibers explaining the lack of tight adhesion of anterior and posterior surfaces of the intrastromal space even in the long-term postoperative period. There are no degenerative changes of keratocytes on the anterior lenticule surface, that is, their changes in SMILE are reversible in most cases.

Objective:This double-blind,placebo-controlled phase 3 study was designed to compare efficacy and safety of abiraterone acetate+prednisone(abiraterone)to prednisone alone in chemotherapy-naı¨ve,asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic metastatic castrationresistant prostate cancer(mCRPC)patients from China,Malaysia,Thailand and ***:Adult chemotherapy-naı¨ve patients with confirmed prostate adenocarcinoma,Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)performance status(PS)grade 0e1,ongoing androgen deprivation(serum testosteronezed to receive abiraterone acetate(1000 mg,QD)t prednisone(5 mg,BID)or placebo t prednisone(5 mg,BID),until disease progression,unacceptable toxicity or consent *** endpoint was improvements in time to PSA progression(TTPP).Results:Totally,313 patients were randomized(abiraterone:n z 157;prednisone:n z 156);and baseline characteristics were *** clinical cut-off(median follow-up time:3.9 months),80% patients received treatment(abiraterone:n z 138,prednisone:n z 112).Median time to PSA progression was not reached with abiraterone versus 3.8 months for prednisone,attaining 58%reduction in PSA progression risk(HR=0.418;p<0.0001).Abirateronetreated patients had higher confirmed PSA response rate(50%vs.21%;relative odds=2.4;p<0.0001)and were 5 times more likely to achieve radiographic response than prednisonetreated patients(22.9%vs.4.8%,p=0.0369).Median survival was not *** common(≥10% abiraterone ***-treated)adverse events:bone pain(7%vs.14%),pain in extremity(6%vs.12%),arthralgia(10%vs.8%),back pain(7%vs.11%),and hypertension(15%vs.14%).Conclusion:Interim analysis confirmed favorable benefit-to-risk ratio of abiraterone in chemotherapy-naı¨ve men with mCRPC,consistent with global study,thus supporting use of abiraterone in this patient population.
