Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Surfaces on Aluminum Alloy Via Electrodeposition of Copper Followed by Electrochemical Modification

Superhydrophobic aluminum surfaces have been prepared by means of electrodeposition of copper on aluminum surfaces, followed by electrochemical modification using stearic acid organic molecules. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images show that the electrodeposited copper films follow "island growth mode" in the form of microdots and their number densities increase with the rise of the negative deposition potentials. At an electrodeposition potential of-0.2 V the number density of the copper microdots are found to be 4.5×104cm^(-2)that are increased to 2.9×105cm^(-2)at a potential of-0.8 V. Systematically, the distances between the microdots are found to be reduced from 26.6 μm to 11.03 μm with the increase of negative electrochemical potential from-0.2 V to-0.8 V. X-ray diffraction(XRD) analyses have confirmed the formation of copper stearate on the stearic acid modified copper films. The roughness of the stearic acid modified electrodeposited copper films is found to increase with the increase in the density of the copper microdots. A critical copper deposition potential of-0.6 V in conjunction with the stearic acid modification provides a surface roughness of 6.2 μm with a water contact angle of 157?, resulting in superhydrophobic properties on the aluminum substrates.

This paper presents a new approach to singular system analysis by modeling the system in terms of orthog- onal triangular functions （TFs）. The proposed method is more accurate compared to block pulse function-based analysis with respect to mean integral square error （MISE）. A numerical example involving four states of a singular system is treated and solutions obtained thereof. Four tables and relevant curves are presented to compare the respective coefficients in block pulse function （BPF） domain as well as in TF domain. The percentage error of the samples determined via TF domain are compared with the exact samples of the states. Furthermore, MISE for both BPF and TF analysis are computed and compared to reveal the efficiency of TF-based analysis.

Efficient removal of heavy metals from electroplating wastewater using polymer ligands

Poly（hydroxamic acid）-poly（amidoxime） che- lating ligands were synthesized from poly（methyl acrylate-co-acrylonitrile） grafted acacia cellulose for removing toxic metal ions from industrial wastewaters. These ligands showed higher adsorption capacity to copper （2.80 mmol. g-l） at pH 6. In addition, sorption capacities to other metal ions such as iron, zinc, chromium, and nickel were also found high at pH 6. The metal ions sorption rate （tl/2） was very fast. The rate of adsorption of copper, iron, zinc, chromium, nickel, cobalt, cadmium and lead were 4, 5, 7, 5, 5, 8, 9 and 11 min, respectively. Therefore, these ligands have an advantage to the metal ions removal using the column technique. We have successfully investigated the known concentration of metal ions using various parameters, which is essential for designing a fixed bed column with ligands. The wastewater from electroplating plants used in this study, having chromium, zinc, nickel, copper and iron, etc. For chromium wastewater, ICP analysis showed that the Cr removal was 99.8% and other metal ions such as Cu, Ni, Fe, Zn, Cd, Pb, Co and Mn removal were 94.7%, 99.2%, 99.9%, 99.9%, 99.5%, 99.9%, 95.6% and 97.6%, respectively. In case of cyanide wastewater, the metal removal, especially Ni and Zn removal were 96.5 and 95.2% at higher initial concentra- tion. For acid/alkali wastewater, metal ions removing for Cd, Cr and Fe were 99.2%, 99.5% and 99.9%, respectively. Overall, these ligands are useful for metal removal by column method from industrial wastewater especially plating wastewater.

Early after priming, effector CD8 T cells are distinguished into memory precursor and short-lived effector cell subsets （MPECs and SLECs）. Here, we delineated a distinct in vivo heterogeneity in killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 （KLRG-1） expression, which was strongly associated with diverse MPEC and SLEC fates. These in vivo MPECs and SLECs expressed equivalent levels of cytotoxic molecules and effector cytokines. Using a unique in vivodegranulation assay, we found that the MPECs and SLECs similarly encountered infected target cells and elaborated equivalent levels of cytotoxicity in vivo. These data provide direct in vivoevidence that memory-fated ceils pass through a robust effector phase. Additionally, the preferential localization of the MPECs in the lymph nodes, where a lesser degree of cytotoxicity was elaborated, suggests that the MPECs may be protected from excessive stimulation and terminal differentiation by virtue of their differential tissue localization. These data provide novel mechanistic insights into the linear decreasing potential model of memory differentiation.

As the fault‐based attacks are becoming a more pertinent threat in today's era of edge computing/internet‐of‐things,there is a need to streamline the existing tools for better accuracy and ease of use,so that we can gauge the attacker's power and a proper countermeasure can be devised in the long *** this regard,we propose a machine learning(ML)assisted tool that can be used in the context of a differential fault *** particular,finding the exact fault location by analysing the output difference(typically the XOR of the nonfaulty and the faulty ciphertexts)is somewhat *** the literature survey,we notice that the Pearson's correlation coefficient dominantly is used for this purpose,and has almost become the defacto *** this method can yield good accuracy for certain cases,we argue that an MLbased method is more powerful in all the situations we experiment *** sub-stantiate our claim by showing the relative performances(we choose the commonly used multilayer perceptron as our ML tool)with two variants of Grain‐128a(a stream cipher,and a stream cipher with authentication),the lightweight stream cipher LIZARD and the lightweight block cipher SIMON‐32(where the faults are injected at the fifth last rounds).Our results demonstrate that a common ML tool can outperform the correlation with the same training/testing *** believe that our work extends the state‐of‐the‐art by showing how traditional cryptographic methods can be replaced by a more powerful ML tool.
