Convex-up Style of Deformation within Grabens in Regions of Incomplete Crossing Conjugate Normal Faults: A Numerical Simulation Investigation and Case Study

Crossing conjugate normal faults(CCNFs)are extensively developed in many hydrocarbon-producing basins,generally existing in the form of incomplete ***,the effect of the non-conjugate zone of the CCNFs on the conjugate relay zone post late tectonic action has not been previously *** use 3D elastic-plastic modeling to investigate the influence of incomplete(i.e.,partially intersecting)CCNFs on the pattern of deformation of strata in the intersection region.A series of model simulations were performed to examine the effects of horizontal tectonic extension,fault size,and fault depth on the deformation of conjugate relay zones of incomplete *** analyses yielded the following results.(1)The model of incomplete conjugation predicts a convex-up style of deformation in the conjugate graben region superimposed on overall subsidence under applied horizontal tectonic extension.(2)The degree of convex-up deformation of the conjugate graben depends on the influence of the non-conjugate zone on the conjugate relay zone,which varies with the amount of horizontal tectonic extension,fault size,and fault burial depth.(3)Our results indicate that incomplete CCNFs can form convex-up deformation,similar to that in the Nanpu Sag area and provide a sound understanding of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the entire world has been affected by the epidemic[1,2].On November 9,2021,a variant of the novel coronavirus B.1.1.529 was detected for the first time from case samples in South *** Omicron strain spread and mutated significantly *** variant has the characteristics of escape immunity,which can induce relatively extreme disease and reduce the neutralization of antibodies in vaccinators,and is more likely to be reinfected[3,4].The clinical presentation of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2)in children has mild symptoms and a lower risk of hospitalization and death.

The high-strength low-alloy steel plates with varying Ni/Mo contents were manufactured using the thermos-mechanical control *** investigation was conducted to explore the effect of Ni/Mo microalloying on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the *** results revealed that the increase in Ni content from 1 to 2 wt.%reduced the transition temperature of ferrite and the growth range of ferritic grain was narrowed,which promoted grain *** optimized combination of grain size,high-angle grain boundaries(HAGBs),and martensite-austenite(M-A)islands parameter contributed to the excellent impact toughness of S1 steel at-100℃(impact absorbed energy of 218.2 J at-100℃).As the Mo increases from 0 to 2 wt.%,the matrix structure changes from multiphase structure to granular bainite,which increases the average effective grain size to~4.62 pm and reduces HAGBs proportion to~36.22%.With these changes,the low-temperature impact toughness of S3 steel is *** addition,based on the analysis of the characteristics of crack propagation path,it was found that M-A islands with low content(~2.21%)and small size(~1.76 pm)significantly retarded crack propagation,and the fracture model of M-A islands with different morphologies was further ***,correlation between behaviour of delamination and toughness was further analysed by observing delamination size and impact energy parameters.

We present a novel time-of-flight resolved Bessel light bullet-enabled stimulated Raman scattering(B2-SRS)microscopy for deeper tissue 3D chemical imaging with high resolution without a need for mechanical *** accomplish the tasks,we conceive a unique method to enable optical sectioning by generating the counterpropagating pump and Stokes Bessel light bullets in the sample,in which the group velocities of the Bessel light bullets are made ultraslow(e.g.,vg≈0.1c)and tunable by introducing programmable angular dispersions with a spatial light *** theoretically analyze the working principle of the collinear multicolor Bessel light bullet generations and velocity controls with the relative time-of-flight resolved detection for SRS 3D deep tissue *** have also built the B2-SRS imaging system and present the first demonstration of B2-SRS microscopy with Bessel light bullets for 3D chemical imaging in a variety of samples(e.g.,polymer bead phantoms,biological samples such as spring onion tissue and porcine brain)with high *** B2-SRS technique provides a>2-fold improvement in imaging depth in porcine brain tissue compared to conventional SRS *** method of optical sectioning in tissue using counter-propagating ultraslow Bessel light bullets developed in B2-SRS is generic and easy to perform and can be readily extended to other nonlinear optical imaging modalities to advance 3D microscopic imaging in biological and biomedical systems and beyond.

The hybrid cascaded high-voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission system has various operation modes,and some operation modes have sharply increasing requirements for protection rapidity,while the traditional pilot differential protection(PDP)has poor rapidity,and even refuses to operate when faults occur on the DC ***,a novel pilot protection scheme based on traveling wave characteristics is ***,the adaptability of the traditional PDP applied in engineering is analyzed for different operation ***,the expressions of the forward traveling wave(FTW)and backward traveling wave(BTW)on the rectifier side and the inverter side are derived for different fault *** the theoretical derivation,the difference between the BTW and FTW on the rectifier side is less than zero,and the same is true on the inverter ***,in the event of an external fault of DC line,the difference between the BTW and FTW at nearfault terminal protection installation point is greater than ***,by summing over the product of the difference between BTW and FTW of the rectifier side and that of the inverter side,the fault identification criterion is *** simulation results show that the proposed pilot protection scheme can quickly and reliably identify the short-circuit faults of DC line in different operation modes.

Complexities in mechanical behaviours of rock masses mainly stem from inherent discontinuities,which calls for advanced bolt-grouting techniques for stability *** the mechanical properties of bolt-grouted fractured rock mass(BGFR)and developing accurate prediction methods are crucial to optimize the BGFR support *** paper establishes a new elastoplastic(E-P)model based on the orthotropic and the Mohr-Coulomb(M-C)plastic-yielding *** elastic parameters of the model were derived through a meso-mechanical analysis of composite materials mechanics(CMM).Laboratory BGFR specimens were prepared and uniaxial compression test and variable-angle shear test considering different bolt arrangements were carried out to obtain the mechanical parameters of the *** showed that the anisotropy of BGFR mainly depends on the relative volume content of each component material in a certain ***,the mechanical parameters deduced from the theory of composite materials which consider the short fibre effect are shown to be in good agreement with those determined by laboratory experiments,and the variation rules maintained good ***,a case study of a real tunnel project is provided to highlight the effectiveness,validity and robustness of the developed E-P model in prediction of stresses and deformations.

This paper considers the problem of approximating the infinite-horizon value function of the discrete-time switched LQR *** particular,the authors propose a new value iteration method to generate a sequence of monotonically decreasing functions that converges exponentially to the value *** method facilitates us to use coarse approximations resulting from faster but less accurate algorithms for further value iteration,and thus,the proposed approach is capable of achieving a better approximation for a given computation time compared with the existing *** numerical examples are presented in this paper to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
