In recent years,the field of endoscopy has experienced significant technological *** developments have facilitated the efficient use of endoscopy for precise examination and minimally invasive treatment of various lesions.A key parameter considered during both endoscopic diagnosis and treatment is the size of the *** colon polypectomy,the size of the polyp is linked to the probability of malignancy and the likelihood of ***,in the case of early gastric cancer,larger tumors are often associated with an increased likelihood of lymph node metastasis,and whether to perform endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)is partially dependent on the size of the ***,accurate measurement of lesion size may significantly impact the diagnosis and treatment plan for the ***,at present,there is no standardized method for quantitative measurement during *** lack of a universal technique hinders the ability of clinical guidelines to provide precise recommendations for treatment.

By accurately measuring composition and energy spectrum of cosmic ray,the origin problem of so called“knee”region(energy>one PeV)can be ***,up to the present,the results of the spectrum in the knee region obtained by several previous experiments have shown obvious differences,so they cannot give effective evidence for judging the theoretical models on the origin of the ***,the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO)has reported several major breakthroughs and important results in astro-particle physics *** on its advantages of wide-sky survey,high altitude location and large area detector arrays,the research content of LHAASO experiment mainly includes ultra high-energy gamma-ray astronomy,measurement of cosmic ray spectra in the knee region,searching for dark matter and new phenomena of particle physics at higher *** electron and thermal neutron detector(EN-Detector)is a new scintillator detector which applies thermal neutron detection technology to measure cosmic ray extensive air shower(EAS).This technology is an extension of *** EN-Detector Array(ENDA)can highly efficiently measure thermal neutrons generated by secondary hadrons so called“skeleton”of *** this paper,we perform the optimization of ENDA configuration,and obtain expectations on the ENDA results,including thermal neutron distribution,trigger efficiency and capability of cosmic ray composition *** obtained real data results are consistent with those by the Monte Carlo simulation.

The use of two-dimensional(2D)layered metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as self-sacrificial templates has been proven to be a successful method to create high-efficiency Selenium(Se)-containing electrocatalysts for overall water ***,two strategies are then utilized to introduce Se element into the Co–Fe MOF,one being the etching of as-prepared MOF by SeO_(2) solution,and the other,the replacing of SCN−with SeCN−as the construction *** electrochemical activity of the pristine 2D MOF and their calcinated derivatives for catalyzing the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is evaluated and further *** is found that the effect of introducing Se on improving electrochemical catalytic activity is significant for the HER ***,the calcinated derivative in the replacing method exhibits an overpotential of 235 mV for HER and 270 mV for OER at a current density of 10 mA/*** comparing the two methods of introducing Se element into MOF,similar electrocatalytic activity can be achieved on the their calcinated *** high electrochemical performance of 2D CoFe-MOF derivatives may be resulted from the unique 2D hierarchical porous structure and strong synergistic effect between different components in the material.

Poly(lactide acid)(PLA)foams have shown considerable promise as eco-friendly alternatives to nondegradable plastic foams,such as polystyrene(PS)***,PLA foam typically suffers from low heat-resistance and poor cellular structure stemming from its inherent slow crystallization rate and low melt *** this study,a high-performance PLA foam with well-defined cell morphology,exceptional strength and enhanced heat-resistance was successfully fabricated via a core-back microcellular injection molding(MIM)*** scanning calorimetry(DSC)results revealed that the added hydrazine-based nucleating agent(HNA)significantly increased the crystallization temperature and accelerated the crystallization process of ***,the addition of a 1.5 wt%of HNA led to a significant reduction in PLA’s cell size,from 43.5µm to 2.87µm,and a remarkable increase in cell density,from 1.08×10^(7)cells/cm^(3)to 2.15×10^(10)cells/cm^(3).This enhancement resulted in a final crystallinity of approximately 55.7%for the PLA blend foam,a marked improvement compared to the pure PLA ***,at 1.5 wt%HNA concentration,the tensile strength and tensile toughness of PLA blend foams demonstrated remarkable improvements of 136%and 463%,***,the Vicat softening temperature of PLA blend foam increased significantly to 134.8°C,whereas the pure PLA foam exhibited only about 59.7℃.These findings underscore the potential for the preparation of lightweight injection-molded PLA foam with enhanced toughness and heat-resistance,which offers a viable approach for the production of high-performance PLA foams suitable for large-scale applications.

Rab5 is a GTPase protein that is involved in intracellular membrane trafficking. It functions by binding to various effector proteins and regulating cellular responses, including the formation of transport vesicles and their fusion with the cellular membrane. Rab5 has been reported to play an important role in the development of the zebrafish embryo;however, its role in axonal regeneration in the central nervous system remains unclear. In this study, we established a zebrafish Mauthner cell model of axonal injury using single-cell electroporation and two-photon axotomy techniques. We found that overexpression of Rab5 in single Mauthner cells promoted marked axonal regeneration and increased the number of intra-axonal transport vesicles. In contrast, treatment of zebrafish larvae with the Rab kinase inhibitor CID-1067700markedly inhibited axonal regeneration in Mauthner cells. We also found that Rab5 activated phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K) during axonal repair of Mauthner cells and promoted the recovery of zebrafish locomotor function. Additionally, rapamycin, an inhibitor of the mechanistic target of rapamycin downstream of PI3K, markedly hindered axonal regeneration. These findings suggest that Rab5 promotes the axonal regeneration of injured zebrafish Mauthner cells by activating the PI3K signaling pathway.

In this editorial,we comment on the article published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** focused on the understanding of appendiceal disease,and the various options for diagnosis and treatment via *** factors affecting the diagnosis and management of appendiceal diseases are also *** existence of any organ has its natural rationality,and the appendix is such a magical organ.A growing number of experts and scholars have gradually come to a consensus that the appendix is not a useless evolutionary *** are many lymphocytes and lymph nodes in the appendix wall,which has a strong immune function,and this function is particularly important for children and *** intestinal probiotics in the appendix are very helpful for maintaining the balance of the intestinal *** the continuous progress of endoscopic technology,endoscopic treatment involving preservation of the appendix has shown great advantages over *** the diagnosis of appendiceal inflammation and neoplasms,colonoscopy,endoscopic retrograde appendicography and choledochoscopy help assess conditions of the *** retrograde appendicitis therapy,abscess drainage under colonoscopy,fenestration of abscess under colonoscopy,and endoscopic or natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery resection of appendiceal neoplasms are safe and effective endoscopic treatments for appendiceal *** breakthroughs in the application of endoscopy in the appendix are expected to occur in the near future.

In this editorial,we comment on the minireview by Martino A,published in the recent issue of World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 2023;15(12):*** focused mainly on the possibility of replacing the hepatic venous pressure gradient(HVPG)and endoscopy with noninvasive methods for predicting esophageal variceal *** risk factors for bleeding were the size of the varices,the red sign and the Child-Pugh *** intrinsic core factor that drove these changes was the ***,the present studies investigating noninvasive methods,including computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,elastography,and laboratory tests,are working on correlating imaging or serum marker data with intravenous pressure and clinical outcomes,such as bleeding.A single parameter is usually not enough to construct an efficient ***,multiple factors were used in most of the studies to construct predictive *** results have been obtained,in which bleeding prediction was partly ***,these methods are not satisfactory enough to replace invasive methods,due to the many drawbacks of different *** is still plenty of room for future *** of the precise timing of bleeding using various models,and extracting the texture of variceal walls using high-definition imaging modalities to predict the red sign are interesting directions to lay investment on.
