The datasets for the tier-1 Scenario Model Intercomparison Project(ScenarioMIP)experiments from the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)Flexible Global Ocean-Atmosphere-Land System model,finite-volume version 3(CAS FGOALS-f3-L)are described in this *** is one of the core MIP experiments in phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP6).Considering future CO2,CH4,N2O and other gases’concentrations,as well as land use,the design of ScenarioMIP involves eight pathways,including two tiers(tier-1 and tier-2)of ***-1 includes four combined Shared Socioeconomic Pathways(SSPs)with radiative forcing,i.e.,SSP1-2.6,SSP2-4.5,SSP3-7.0 and SSP5-8.5,in which the globally averaged radiative forcing at the top of the atmosphere around the year 2100 is approximately 2.6,4.5,7.0 and 8.5 W m−2,*** study provides an introduction to the ScenarioMIP datasets of this model,such as their storage location,sizes,variables,*** analysis indicates that surface air temperatures will increase by about 1.89℃,3.07℃,4.06℃ and 5.17℃ by around 2100 under these four scenarios,***,some other key climate variables,such as sea-ice extension,precipitation,heat content,and sea level rise,also show significant long-term trends associated with the radiative forcing *** datasets will help us understand how the climate will change under different anthropogenic and radiative forcings.

Risk-Balanced Routing Strategy for Service Function Chains of Cyber-Physical Power System Considering Cross-Space Cascading Failure

Cyber-physical power system(CPPS)has significantly improved the operational efficiency of power ***,cross-space cascading failures may occur due to the coupling characteristics,which poses a great threat to the safety and reliability of CPPS,and there is an acute need to reduce the probability of these *** this end,this paper first proposes a cascading failure index to identify and quantify the importance of different information in the same class of communication *** this basis,a joint improved risk-balanced service function chain routing strategy(SFC-RS)is proposed,which is modeled as a robust optimization problem and solved by column-and-constraint generation(C-CG)*** with the traditional shortest-path routing algorithm,the superiority of SFC-RS is verified in the IEEE 30-bus *** results demonstrate that SFC-RS effectively mitigates the risk associated with information transmission in the network,enhances information transmission accessibility,and effectively limits communication disruption from becoming the cause of cross-space cascading failures.

Analysis of surface temperature bias over the Tibetan plateau in the CAS FGOALS-f3-L model

The Chinese Academy of Sciences Flexible Global Ocean-Atmosphere-Land System atmospheric component model(FGOALS-f3-L)participated in Phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project,but its reproducibility of surface temperature(T_(s))over the Tibetan Plateau(TP)as a key climatically sensitive region remains *** study evaluates the capability of FGOALS-f3-L in reproducing the climatological T_(s)over the TP relative to the Climate Forecast System *** results show that FGOALS-f3-L can reasonably capture the spatial pattern of T_(s)but underestimates the annual mean T_(s)for the whole *** simulated T_(s)for the whole TP shows a cold bias in winter and spring and a warm bias in summer and *** quantitative analysis based on the surface energy budget equation shows that the surface albedo feedback(SAF)term strongly contributes to the annual,winter,and spring mean cold bias in the western TP and to the warm bias in the eastern *** with the SAF term,the surface sensible and latent heat flux terms make nearly opposite contributions to the T_(s)bias and considerably offset the bias due to the SAF *** cloud radiative forcing term strongly contributes to the annual and seasonal mean weak cold bias in the eastern *** longwave radiation term associated with the overestimated water vapor content accounts for a large portion of the warm bias over the whole TP in summer and *** land surface and cloud processes in FGOALS-f3-L is critical to reduce the T_(s)bias over the TP.

The outputs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)Flexible Global Ocean-Atmosphere-Land System(FGOALSf3-L)model for the decadal climate prediction project(DCPP)of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)are described in this *** FGOALS-f3-L was initialized through the upgraded,weakly coupled data assimilation scheme,referred to as EnOI-IAU,which assimilates observational anomalies of sea surface temperature(SST)and upper-level(0–1000-m)ocean temperature and salinity profiles into the coupled ***,nine ensemble members of 10-year hindcast/forecast experiments were conducted for each initial year over the period of 1960–2021,based on initial conditions produced by three initialization *** hindcast and forecast experiments follow the experiment designs of the Component-A and Component-B of the DCPP,*** decadal prediction output datasets contain a total of 44 monthly mean atmospheric and oceanic *** preliminary evaluation indicates that the hindcast experiments show significant predictive skill for the interannual variations of SST in the north Pacific and multi-year variations of SST in the subtropical Pacific and the southern Indian Ocean.

On 15 September 2020,the Arctic sea-ice extent(SIE)reached its annual minimum,which,based on data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center(NSIDC,2020a),was about 3.74 million km^(2)(1.44 million square miles).This value was about 40%less than the climate average(~6.27 million km^(2))during 1980–*** was second only to the record low(3.34 million km^(2))set on 16 September 2012,but significantly smaller than the previous second-lowest(4.145 million km^(2),set on 7 September 2016)and third-lowest(4.147 million km^(2),set on 14 September 2007)values,making 2020 the second-lowest SIE year of the satellite era(42 years of data).

Synthesis, Characterization and Antibacterial Activities Study of a Pharmaceutical Cocrystal of Artesunate and 4,4’-Bipyridine

We report here a cocrystal with artesunate as the active pharmaceutical ingredient(API)and a pharmaceutical intermediate 4,4?-bipyridine as the cocrystal former(CCF).The analysis of single-crystal X-ray diffraction demonstrates that the eutectic structural unit consists of two artesunate molecules and one 4,4?-bipyridine molecule with their ratio to be 2:*** carboxyl group on artesunate acts as a donor,and the acceptor is N on 4,4?-bipyridine,forming an O–H···N hydrogen *** appearance of new diffraction peaks in the X-ray powder diffraction pattern also indicates the formation of new *** PXRD results indicated a pure phase for the synthesized *** cocrystal is slightly soluble in *** activities showed that the cocrystal displayed effective inhibition of different bacteria.

Scientific issues relevant to interactions between aerosols and the Asian monsoon climate were discussed and evaluated at the 33 rd "Forum of Science and Technology Frontiers" sponsored by the Department of Earth Sciences at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Major results are summarized in this paper. The East Asian monsoon directly affects aerosol transport and provides a favorable background circulation for the occurrence and development of persistent fog-haze weather. Spatial features of aerosol transport and distribution are also influenced by the East Asian monsoon on seasonal, inter-annual, and decadal scales. High moisture levels in monsoon regions also affect aerosol optical and radiative properties. Observation analyses indicate that cloud physical properties and precipitation are significantly affected by aerosols in China with aerosols likely suppressing local light and moderate rainfall, and intensifying heavy rainfall in southeast coastal regions. However, the detailed mechanisms behind this pattern still need further exploration. The decadal variation in the East Asian monsoon strongly affects aerosol concentrations and their spatial patterns. The weakening monsoon circulation in recent decades has likely helped to increase regional aerosol concentrations. The substantial increase in Chinese air pollutants has likely decreased the temperature difference between land and sea, which favors intensification of the weakening monsoon circulation. Constructive suggestions regarding future studies on aerosols and monsoons were proposed in this forum and key uncertain issues were also discussed.

Red algal evidence for a marine regression during closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean in the Junggar Basin and its linkage to hydrocarbon generation

The closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean was a significant geological event in northern Pangea during the *** had a significant effect on climate,biota,and environmental conditions of the Late Paleozoic Ice Age,and resulted in the development of vast energy *** paper reports on the first discovery of marine red algal fossils in the Junggar Basin and its linkage to hydrocarbon *** algae occur mainly in the Fengcheng Formation(ca.300 Ma)and provide direct fossil evidence for closure of the Paleo-Asian *** red algal fossils contain well-preserved reproductive organs,such as cystocarps and *** concentrations of C_(27) steranes(C_(27) regular steranes/sum of C_(27)-C_(29) regular steranes×100=14.30%-21.30%)and the marine biomarker 24-n-propylcholesterane(C_(30) diasterane[βα20S]/sum of C_(27)-C_(30) diasteranes[βα20S]×100=1.15%-1.85%)were detected in the red-algae-bearing hydrocarbon source *** experiments that simulate hydrocarbon generation show that the oil generation potential of the red-algae-bearing source rocks is 363.71 mg g^(-1) total organic *** result,combined with oil-source rock correlations,indicates these rocks contributed to the formation of oil and gas resources,particularly in the marginal areas of the *** lake basin inherited the water and biological conditions of the Paleo-Asian Ocean during a marine regression,which was an important factor in the development of these high-quality hydrocarbon source rocks in an alkaline saline *** results advance our understanding of the evolution of the Paleo-Asian Ocean,interactions between the ocean and a lake during the deposition of terrestrial hydrocarbon source rocks,and whether red algae can effectively generate hydrocarbons.

Free-standingβ-Ta_(2)O_(5)/SWCNTs composite film for high-rate Li-ion storage

The rapid development of portable and wearable electronic devices is responding to the urgent demand for high-efficiency flexible energy storage *** supercapacitors,showing long cycle life,high power density,and good safety,are considered ideal ***,the relatively low energy density restricts their practical *** a large dielectric constant of 18-46,Ta_(2)O_(5)-based materials typically exhibit excellent electron-binding ability,which is critical for enhancing the energy density of *** this work,the free-standingβ-Ta_(2)O_(5)/single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)composite film was prepared,with a highβ-Ta_(2)O_(5)loading of over 70%.By anchoringβ-Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles onto the surface of SWCNTs,the system’s flexibility and conductivity were significantly enhanced,which also facilitated the intercalation electrodynamics of metal *** a result,the flexibleβ-Ta_(2)O_(5)/SWCNTs film exhibits excellent Li-ion storage performance,with a high volumetric specific capacitance of 392.3 F cm^(-3)at the scan rate of 10 mV s^(-1)and 198.9 F cm^(-3)at 500 mV s^(-1).In addition,the asymmetric device,assembled by theβ-Ta_(2)O_(5)/SWCNTs and activated carbon films,shows a high energy density of 45.5 Wh kg^(-1)at the power density of 10.8 kW kg^(-1).This technique opens up a new avenue for improving the energy density and rate performance of flexible supercapacitors.

Aerosol characteristics over the Tibetan Plateau simulated with a coupled aerosol-climate model(FGOALS-f3-L)

This study presents the simulated aerosol spatiotemporal characteristics over the Tibetan Plateau(TP)with a newly developed coupled aerosol-climate model(FGOALS-f3-L).The aerosol properties are simulated over the TP for the period *** results indicate that soil dust,sulfate,and carbonaceous aerosols(black carbon(BC),organic carbon(OC)and BC/OC)account for 53.6%,32.2%,and 14.2%of the total aerosol mass over the TP,*** simulated aerosol surface mass concentrations and aerosol optical depths(AODs)are evaluated with ground-based and satellite observations,*** of the aerosol surface mass concentration are found at the Lhasa site,especially for BC and *** spatial distribution and interannual variation of AOD are consistent with MODIS observations,with the RMSE of 0.081 and bias of *** to the uncertainty of the parameterization of dust emissions,the model’s performance in summer and autumn is much better than that in spring.
